In this video I'm going to show step by step how to remove and Upgrade the Rear Main Seal, I will also show how to install a stage3 6puck clutch kit and a single mass light weight flywheel.
This was done on a Volkswagen MK6 Golf GTI. Applicable years: 2009-2014 - MK5/MK6 - MKV/MKVI - GTI/JETTA/GLI

I wanted to see you wrestle that trans back into place, lol. I probably would opt for using a motorcycle jack or engine hoist.

It's kinda tricky using a hoist, because it has to rotate at an angle while going up. But yea, I had to bench press the trans back in, definitely not fun. Lol

Ain’t nothing like that good ol auto zone brake clean man lol thing is lethal. Definitely good to know I’m just getting the stage clutch above yours but still ECS because I love how that flywheel looks fr. I was told I should look into getting an all metal throw out bearing tho.

How much power you plan to put down? Yea, I was contemplating about getting the metal throw out bearings, but I saw some people complaining about it as well, so I decided to use the same plastic type again.

@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds I’m shooting for the 500 range whether hp or torque on a future AWD swap, Biagio, 1.8 to 2.0 stroker with forged internals and methanol setup. So big boy numbers lol and on a MK6.5 Jetta at that lol. It sucks we don’t have better clutch options because I’d definitely wanna go higher seeing my goal is right at the peak of that.

What about bench bleeding the throw out before install ? Are you doing part 3? Maybe some bleeding and clutch break in

I was going to pre fill the throw out bearing before Installing it, but then I decided not to. Just gotta follow the manufacturers recommendation on the break in process. I might do a follow up video.

Nice job, but the single mass fly wheel might end up destroying the brass synch rings in the transmission. Good luck..

ive never heard of that.. Ive been on a single mass flywheel on a MK6 GTi and over 100k miles with it in and it still fine. Ive got a golf R where i did all this same work but only 30k miles since i did it no problems with transmission.

Is it true that the manual transmission doesn't have a pilot bearing? Will i be able to just take the pilot bearing out and install the flywheel if i am swapping in a motor that has a pilot bearing from the previous car?

Do you know what would cause the following symptoms in a 2012 VW Golf 6? -when the AC is set on cold, it blows hot air; when it is set on hot, it blows cold air -even on the highest power setting, although you can hear the sound, not too much air comes through the vents (the air filter is new) - when changing the settings as to the location (for example feet, or directed to the windshield), even less air comes out of the vents- one setting works best. -while rotating the temperature button you can hear the difference of inflow I need to mention thatt the car was a right hand drive and this year was changed to left. The mechanic that did it said that the AC unit needs to be one for left hand drive cars otherwise it won’t work. Is he telling the truth? I’ve had many problems with the car since. Unfortunately it was a mistake but now I am trying to fix as much as I can.

That sounds like the issue is with the climate control. Yes, you could replace it and see if it resolve the issue.

I replaced that throw out bearing twice for the yr already should I use the clutch masters billet unit is that more reliable than the OEM unit ?

Similar to brakes, but keep the reservoir full while you're doing it.
