Today we have in the workshop a VW Polo 6R with the remote central locking not working although the red LED on the remote was flashing when the buttons were being pressed, a quick check with a remote control tester from Sealey tools indicated the remote key was faulty with a weak signal, measuring the voltage to confirm state of charge of the battery we replaced it with a new battery. Although there may be a manual re-synchronizing process that may of programmed the remote back into the system we chose to compare using the Thinktool Max (Launch based diagnostic tool) to the classic VAG-COM (VCDS).
