Nicely explained about the mentality of Indian people. We are more focussed on gimmicky features than on useful features. I own both Tata Harrier and Skoda Slavia. Frankly, the paint quality and panel gaps says the difference. Harrier's paint quality is pathetic, panel gaps are huge and uneven. Really feel bad after getting these poor R&D products after spending 22+ lakhs. Whereas, in my Slavia, there is no issue of paint quality & panel gaps. The engine in my Slavia is supreme. German Engineering at its best. I own the top model of Slavia, the non sunroof version. Not a big fan of sunroofs or large touchscreens. In short, buy good cars that have good R&D. Drive the car, get a proper test drive and then buy the car, dont get influence by bullshit "Desh Ka Loha" narrative.

I liked the Skoda Salvia 1.5AT about INR22L but am wondering if they are planning to bring back Octavia again. Also I heard they are planning some updates in salvia like Adas etc. I am ok to wait if there are upgrades planned would you have any idea?

I don't think so that its the fault of indian customers that ford or VW is exiting. Brand should also take responsibility for poor performance, i almost finalized virtus 1.5 dsg however the AC performance was poor and less than my 10 year old honda city. Also we don't need all the features however they don't provide basic features like electronic parking brake, auto hold and 360 camera which aids in driving the car and must have in a 22 lakhs car.
Agree , AC is worst in segment . City 5th Gen AC is superb you dont feel the absence of Ventilated seats. Interior and dashboard is full of hard plastic and rattles like anything in VW , Skoda not everyone wants performance they need to understand that. Hyped up handling and feedback i find Honda City's handling and feedback better than its rivals.
The over engineering stuff is not needed by everyone. Coming to handling and dynamics, honda city is no less than virtus . Yes in safety features VW has an edge . But if u compare base model of city and base model of virtus ,obviously anyone would choose city
The CEO made a big mistake with that interview.. people will be cautious now.. so suspect existing sales itself will dwindle.. he should have given a more positive outlook.. not used terms like india dont need over engineering
VW is cars good. I own a polo.The only problem with VW is its service costs and overpriced Parts. No doubt german cars are reliable. But once some issue arises then it can make big hole in your pocket.

We need 100 more videos like these!! Am a Taigun owner from Nov 23. First trip was Bom-Coorg-Bom. That said, It will be foolish for VW Škoda to exit India because though, they are doing great in the European markets, US and China not much. So only the Indian market offers them hope. They are certainly doing better than Honda India and the French cars. Some RU-vidrs (some being owners) should refrain from being judgemental about their exiting. They are screwing the company, existing car owners, new purchasers who are waiting for delivery and potential buyers even more. On the flip side VW should come out with a statement at the corporate level to allay any fears, to calm minds. Just to add my wish…. The Indian gov or Nitin Gadkari should ban ‘Item Number’ cars from Kia, Hyundai and Maruti for lack of safety features,weak body shell and driving dynamics. They should be allowed only if they are equal to or better than VW Skoda cars in these 3 factors. Then it will be fun to watch if these faltu companies make such high sales.
Well said. This youtubers r making money out of taking only one statement out of context. The statement is all about doing better in India n looking for local partners. Not a single youtuber says the fact that their Pune plant is catering to exports to Brazil n Middle East. They won't leave our country for atleast next 7 to 8 years. I've tested both Taigun n Virtus n will be getting one of them n that's for sure. Don't believe any RU-vidr. Most of them are Kia, Hyundai, Tata bhakts.

I have 1st gen Figo diesel jo 1.8 lakh km plus chal chuki hai aur aaj bhi highway pr tank ki tarah stable lagti hain with 17 plus mileage in mixed conditions. 2nd gen Figo was the first car in it’s segment to offer 6 airbags on the top Variant. Bhaiya ek sawaal tha. Kya yaha sach hai ki Skoda/VW ki gaadiya maintain karne mein bhari padti hai aur baar baar problems aati rehti hain? Mene suna hai VW/Skoda ki gadiya complex rehti hai aur inke ache mechanic nahi miltey hain. Main Elevate aur Kushaq mein confused hu, dono hi company ke service centre mere sheher mein nahi hain. Loved the driving dynamics of Kushaq but Honda naturally aspirated engine ke saath aati hai jiski perceived reliability zyada hoti hain. Please suggest.
They are not very hard to maintain, you just have to take care of some things and it is also true that you can not give to any mechanic as they are complex cars, parts are less expensive under 2.0, if you don't have a service center in your city, I'll suggest you to go for some other brand
Sooner or later they will surely exit , ford had similar action or statements and every one knows outcome , they have already invested 2 Billion USD facing heavy losses , Statement from CEO is alarming because operations are handled by Seniors in germany. Emotions dont bring bread and butter profit does.

Taigun and kushaq size is similar to sonet but the price is greater than seltos and creta this is the major drawback for poor sales because anyone can clearly understand when you park taigun with seltos, seltos looks very big. But virtus is the segment leader only because its size is equal or even more bigger than its segment cars.
Skoda VW low sales is good to have that exclusivity factor for owners. It’s a premium brand with higher maintenance. It’s not a brand to be compare with sheep & goats. As you rightly said brands giving so many segment above features in less price may have some possible demerits too. When it comes to Kushaq / Taigun, they are compared with rivals for their size. Just like features, rivals are offering segment above sizes too…Segment above bigger car Kodiaq is available for bigger size factor and lot more features…😂 why expect them to give you likes of Kodiaq/ Tiguan at lower segment. German manufacturer may pack up if such are the expectations.

Sir this is the first step towards the exit from India that CEO come forward and coment as negative. Same thing and process happened with Ford and one day they suddenly announced exit. It takes time to Exit but it's first step towards exit. Ford also tried hard for collaboration with Mahindra and tata. Don't forget ford had 2 plants in india then also suddenly exit. Ford was much better car then skoda and VW. Having punchy engin. driving dynamics better fit & finishing. Zero issues in cars and the most imp thing is pricing is much competitive. It's very disappointed as this comment from CEO.
I don't know why they are not opening more showrooms and service centers, which will definitely improve their sales a lot....bought kushaq Monte Carlo today absolutely a gem to drive....

They just need to do one work - open stores in small cities, this is the only factor of maruti kia hyundai success. Ford also flopped for the very reason. Tier 2,3 cities have more money power as they do not always have public transport all the time like delhi dtc metro and most of the middle class and govt class live in tier 2,3 cities
Bhai kya fayda acchi drive quality ka, jb AC issues / Brake noise issues / rattling sound issue / window up down problem ye sab issues hai!! Hyundai make faaar better interiors , not just in terms of looks but quality (including touch and feel) is far better. For AC, Skoda/VW is not even close to hyundai. I will anyday prefer 1L TGDI form hyundai over 1L TSI, just because of other things being superior than skoda/vw . I will get tad bit lower power/handling but I am fine with that.

This was expected to happen when you consider Indian market as a dumping yard. Only good thing were T-roc and Karoq, they were standing with the VW/Skoda tag but again they were expensive. These 2.0 are nothing but pseudo germans. And Indian mentality is not about only features and bhed chaal. It is about value for money and reliability where these are failing miserably in front of Indian and Korean brands. And saying their cars are "Over-engineered for India" is sheer arrogance, again they are taking customers for granted. Anyways, hope they find a good M&A OW they have signaled they will leave. No point here being emotional, it should set a mark globally, How VW failed in India in front of Indian and Global brands.
VW & Skoda sales droped due to only one reason. Smaller in the size and higher in the price. Check all segment cars thise are bit smaller in the size with that segment car size and price is almost 2-3 laks high with the same segment car.
Back camera can be managed, yea but if 360 n all is your priority, you should definitely go for Korians. P. S. - Germans will also be providing 360 degree cameras in their facelifts of 2.0 cars 😊
@@pant979 yep thats true skoda has best built and drive quality no doubt, but not all people used to watch youtube reviews about skoda , they used to follow neighbours cars like their car have panaromic, their have front camera , 360 camera, skoda has nothing, even cars like nexon and harrier safaru providing features and safety, so why would someone comsider a car like skoda vw..
Are VW & Skoda cars good cars, yes they are 6:29 but why don't they try to understand the Indian psyche? Whatever feedback is given they don't take it? I mean VW and Skoda are already a 4mm + cars in length (Skoda - 4225mm & VW - 4221mm), and 1760mm in width (good enough only for 4 people) Why can't they increse the length {car looks a bit tiny for the price (as Indian market is quite price sensitive, they want complete value for money) specially Taigun)}. Also, they should increase the breadth of the car a bit so that 5 members of the family could sit comfortably instead of 4 . Ford was good too. Ford left India (they are muggar heads) bcoz of their foolishness and strategy adopted by their marketing heads. Their marketing team know nothing about psyche of marketing in India. For years they didn't bring about any design changes or added any features. To cut the long story short, it was Ford's mistake to leave India.
