Hey Nathan, Videos like this are the reason why I watch this channel. Little budget, lots of skill and top work planning. Get what you can for a limited amount of time and resources. With an unexpected result. The English and Germans are not that far apart in their attitudes 🌞 Best regards Greg
Hey Greg thank you I really appreciate your kind words 🙏 I do my best to help when it’s needed and not for granted and it’s makes me feel good especially when the receiver is so happy it really makes my day. Thanks again sir 👍
I have 2007 Touran. Cost me 1k. Fantastic car. Couldn't agree more. Converting into a mini camper. Good MPG. Smooth ride. Multi-functional. Mod cons. Reliable engine. Case closed...
I’m with you, we have a 2011 Touran, it really is the dogs bolloxcks. Soon going to Spain and no issues with space or comfort, fuel economy or reliability… it’s just there, looks after us , rather like a good friend. I’m sure many others will understand when they snap one up! Great video 🙏
Started getting withdrawals - thinking where's this weeks video. MINT Touran. Noooice one Nathan. Some nice detail and an indepth video. Quality. Well done. Epic skills.
This is one of your best vids so far pal. Super useful knowledge for the average family that needs reliable vehicle. Great tips to get on the right side of MOT tester too. That’s gold stuff mate. Keep it up
I have to say, since buying my T6 and spending a load on my mrs's PCP motor a month I'm almost convinced to sack it off and get a Touran. You sir, are a brilliant friend. We all need a Nathan like you mate. I wish I had one as my T6 requires a little bit of a squint in places. Keep the vids comin - we love DTE TV!
Hey bud thank you appreciate the kind words 🙏 I love the front ends on the T6’s very nice 👍 I can’t rate Vw tourans enough they are so all round good vehicles. This one definitely needed abit of squinting while looking round the paintwork 😆👍
not watched your channel for quite a while( guilty as charged m`lud, lock him up ) seeing your vids again makes me realise what a great down to earth guy you are 😊😊
Once again a great video .. totally agree if you take an unkempt car into a garage for any work it’s going to put the technician in a bad mood from the off.. Was hoping you’d be sliding into the touran subculture of lowering & pimping the cars the way we do our caddy’s ..maybe next time😉👍
A Touran was the first (and only) new car I ever bought. Used it as a family car and also loaded all my tools on it everyday as an electrician….. what a great car.
Got to admit, I had a 2006 Zafira SRI 150bhp tuned to 200 for years, preferred the look of it, it drove a lot better than when I test drove a touran, flew through the mots every year without any issues, before I bought my T5.1 Caravelle, I was set to part ex it, gave it a good clean and polish to get the maximum money for it, fell in love with it again, decided to keep it for the missus, 2 weeks after her having it, it got written off 😢 it kept her and the kids safe. It was a right mess. Saw it back on the road a couple of years later and my heart skipped a beat like bumping in to an ex girlfriend. But moved on, I’m firmly in the vw camp now and did consider a touran but she wanted something smaller, shame ready as the versatility for skip runs would’ve been better and not needing to do the skip runs in the Caravelle . Love the seat configuration of the touran. Great video again Nathan 👌🏻
This is crazy I've just finished having a nose on autotrader and Ebay at tourans then I tune into my new favourite RU-vid channel and this video pops up! I think the universe is trying to tell me something. I hope to bump into you at a bluewater meet in the future. Great video as always.
Hey James ah man it must be a sign 👍 if I didn’t have a caddy I’d definitely have a touran 👍 I’m always at the meets bud so if you see me there come over say hi and have a chat.
@@YTDTETV nice one bud. I will say you did really well to get that for £400 every touran I see is 2k+ looks like the DTETV influence is already affecting the market lol.
@@jamesleeharris we did spend a week on and off looking till the right one came up, oh no my mate Billy buys these all the time and he will hate me if the price goes up 😆👍👍
Hi Nath, I've had 3 common rail 2.0 TDIs, 2 of them needed nothing over 5 years and 80K miles, my T5.1 has 207k on it and has only heeded a clutch release bearing at 140k and an EGR cooler at 190k. The BiTDIs are the ones to avoid and the 2.0 TDIs made after the emissions scandal seem to be less reliable, theres always T6s on Copart with blown engines.
Great Video, you are one hell of a nice guy, and not only that your also a great bodywork repairer, I can't understand how your not up to 50K subs. Keep Em coming.
Hey Colin thank you mate really appreciate the kind words 🙏 I’m not the best at the internet stuff to tag or hashtag videos etc so maybe I need to brush up on my skills to get the channel promoted better. Thanks again 👍👍
Hey Karl thank you sir always appreciate your comments and input, the new owner is super happy with the car and sent me a couple of tex’s to say thank you 👍👍
Nice vid, Mate! Got myself a 1,4 TSI Kompressor turbocharged Touran of the same build. Also seven seated. Love it. Plus I have a 2.0 SDI Caddy Transporter MK3 as a multi purpose daylie plus Festival Camper and E-Bike Transporter. Love your channel. Keep up the good work. Cheers!
I so love watching your chanel, the way you do things and present is just a joy mate, May i ask sir, would a Audi 3.2 vrs engine and gearbox go in a t5 transporter, loved the caddy with the beast of an engine, would love to have one in the t5
Nathan buddy no one is perfect in this world even a bind person wouldn't even notice it for the age of the car it self but the paint work is top quality spot on
Nathan. Another great video ......Cars and horses dont work so you will be pissed off with all the effort you put in after a few months ..... still great video thanks
Unreal work on that motor Nath! Really enjoyed the video! Long time subscriber, love the content! Plenty of people out there repairing crash damaged cars but really enjoy watching you give a tired, worn out motor a new life! Your attention to detail is top drawer!
Brill video, def funniest yet! I’ve had several GTI’s & a Caddy & now have a 07 Touran & they are bullet proof, excellent on fuel & relability…for me the best Dubber i’ve had & it’s going nowhere…🫡
Nice work. I was waiting in a "Chain MOT Centre" you know the one that sells bikes and every other thing. The girl was ringing customers to give them the news on their cars. Every call stated corrosion on springs etc as advisories, and a quote for repair, cheeky monkeys!
Hey bill so I don’t like to shoot other garages down for many reasons but I don’t want to get in trouble but yes those “convenient” mot’s while you wait at said garage chain are not so convenient when you get the made up bill for random stuff you don’t need. I told a guy once to use my mot man, he came back a few days later with 2 failure sheets from said chain and I said not your car is scrap 🙈. Thanks bill mate 👍👍
Nathan, I'm after some advice. Looking to buy a VW beetle 2009 TDI but I want to do an engine swap and put in a pd 130 engine in it so my question to you can it be done and And what else do I have to get besides the engine the gearbox where I need ECU as well... Ps loving the channel never miss a new video keep up the good work 👍🏽👍🏽
I need a mate like you love that you are trying to help a friend out as best you can just checked the mot the tested must have been having a really bad day
Hey bud thank you appreciate that 👍 I have all the stickers here but been abit slack with setting up the DTE shop. Soon as I get back from my show on Sunday it’s at the top of my list 👍 appreciate the support 🙏
Bought a new IT3 140 Sport DSG for retirement. 62 plate now with 78k . Best motor ever. Fully loaded with leather etc. Oil and filter done evet 5k. DSG every 20 to 25k. Still on factory fitted brake pads!! Mid 50s MPG, bit more on motorway cruise.
@@balanrajan4152 Hi. Its a 140 PS TDI. THE 6 SPEED DSG gearbox is a great piece of equipment if serviced regularly. I've actually had almost 70 MPG on a motorway in France using cruise control at 100 kph. I normally get 45-50 mpg locally. And it's on the 17 inch tyres. Just drive them normally and service them regularly and they keep rolling on.
i cant believe how people uses there touran.. i drive a 2004 1t1 1.6 16v and WE LOVEEEE IT well i love vw anyway dont care how it look or what I LOVE VW our vw is this year 20 years old . and the past 6 years since we own it. i NEVER failed OMT and it has 220.xxx KM! i just wished i was able to find this interior in the netherlands.... but hard to find or they as 1500 euro for just the 5 seats.....
Hey 👍 yep people just use and abuse them over here but they do just keep going, absolute brilliant motors. These seats are very nice I have them in my caddy and super comfy and a nice looking seat to 👍
Hey glen ah man that’s typical 😆, they ain’t a bad job on these everything you remove from round the back or underneath, I guess the cylinders have filled up with oil. Once you’ve replace the turbo you can just whip the glow plugs and and crank the key it will spray the oil out and go again after a few miles of smoking 👍👍
@@glenkellaway4664 I was just being safe if I’m honest in the comment, the last time I have one hydro locked on oil I just got a few mates to push me in 5th gear slowly, the pressure soon pushes the oil into the exhaust and fired up. You are right the glow plugs will have plenty of lube on them 👍👍
Did the same but sold it to by my Touran Sport 140 DSG. I would have gone for a Touran 4Motion like a shot. Same chassis as an A3 so they could have done a 4x4.
@@YTDTETV After what I have read, it has to do with the 7 seats. With 4motion the floor in the boot would be too high to fit the last 2 seats. Where I live, 4motion is a big plus in the winter, but thats not the case for everyone 😊
@@no_mechanic ah even more knowledge 👍 school day everyday, we don’t get much snow and ice here so maybe that’s why there’s loads more tourans that sharans over here 👍
@@YTDTETV had mine 7 years that’s had everything replaced and it’s just hit 79000 mile will never buy Vauxhall again my caddy 2006 plate 162000 mile owned 4year never misses a beat just passed its mot today 0 advisory’s
ok i didnt look till the end when i wrote my last comment. but at @ 34:00 thats how feel talking about opel/vauxel🤮🤮🤮🤢 love you for that reaction alone:D
@@YTDTETV i had alot of People want me to fix things on those things. But i have sworn NEVER to touch one again. A 2010 astra killed my best friend it exploded on a 10 min drive.. something with a fuelpump that wilt ignite en fuel.. major recalled needed.. but waaay to late. GM did not anygood by buying them. Just made GM them self worst...
@@YTDTETV a crappy rusted and abused vw is the way for me if needed. But are tourans really that cheap there?? Ours us low spec. High miles well kinda high( km xD), and still 4k/6k euro...
@@farmergasie3338 yes definitely I’d rather a tired Vw than a so called decent Vauxhall, there is loads of half tidy tourans for around £1000-£1500 absolutely loads of them 👍
Hey bud the best era of cars is from 98 to 2008 ish depending on brand, don’t get me wrong if you have loads of money and buy a new car every few years then there is nicer things out there but for the everyday man with not much money and you want comfort and reliability then it has to be a touran 👍
