A nice gun. For representation it is used still today in Czechia. Greetings from Austria

#1 I would clean the Chamber, there might be cosmoline or other gunk causing this. #2 Try wiping down the ammo, # 3 it could be your springs are weak which is causing a timing problem, #4 could be that the ammo is too hot or building too much pressure before the case neck releases the bullet. No particular order.

I believe it to be #2 or #4, cause about 90% of the time it is functioning perfectly fine, the two bullets that I caught this happening on camera have been the only times this has happened so far. This thing is surprisingly cosmoline free

@@GreatNorthwestWeaponry The fact that the ammo was difficult to tap out would make me think its unlikely to be timing.

Amazing timing, I was playing with a few of these yesterday

They are freaking cool! Any idea how they wound up in Australia? The route they took to the US was usually pretty obscure (some from the 1983 invasion of Grenada but not many, and relatively few have since been imported)

I've had an interest in Milsurps for decades but, was unaware of the Japanese type I until I bought a barreled action for a Carcano and began looking for a stock for same. A friend told me he had a stock and when I went to look he showed me the type I and sold it to me for $20? t needed a few parts but, now is complete to my surprise? It's not perfect by any means but, I own it now. I don't seem to go looking for them they now seem to find me? I guess what goes around comes around?

I enjoyed your video. Your rifle has a serial number exactly 25 higher than mine. That means nothing but I found it interesting. Thanks for making this video.

And thank you for watching! If only these were easier to get ammo for I’d shoot it all the time

Just bought a 52/57, in beautiful condition, interesting how it ejects to the left side, kind of unusual , also it is surprisingly heavy compared to the SKS and it seems to have a higher level of build quality

Heck yeah man! Kinda wish I’d gone for a 52/57 instead of a straight up 52. Ammo barely exists

@@GreatNorthwestWeaponry ya that was my main reason for waiting to grab a 52/57 , the ammo is plentiful and cheap, not the rifle though lol

Hey there just a question... would you happen to know if the Vz. 52/57's stripper clips fit on an SKS? Reason I ask is cause in Canada the SKS is pinned to 5 rounds, and the 10 round clips that they use is very awkward to use with just 5...
@GreatNorthwestWeaponry
@GreatNorthwestWeaponry 2 года назад
Unfortunately I don’t actually know, I dunno how it is there but the clips are pretty cheap here, wouldn’t hurt to check

The gun is reasonably affordable but the ammo is collectible… $2.5 a round?!

Ammo is definitely a problem to obtain for these

@@GreatNorthwestWeaponry It was a problem almost 30 years ago when I had one. The main reason I got rid of my VZ52 and bought a Russian SKS. The VZ52 is a cool rifle to own, though.
