I honestly thought this would be a joke rap battle, i thought Gaster would just start speaking Wingdings randomly, and backrooms is just the static noise.

Loved how the backrooms were handled here, genuinely didn't know what to expect. The way the camera pans across the screen to reveal the text is super satisfying to watch For the battle itself-- I'd say Gaster won (I'm being 100% biased) 1:17-1:22 2:00-2:15 (My favorite shots from the video!)
This battle of yours was certainly unique. The voices were really good Fel especially for Backrooms. The visuals were amazing too and the beat fit the tone of the battle. I think I have to say the Backrooms won this

When you said you were getting experimental with the editing, you weren't kidding! After all, a liminal space wouldn't have visuals to dance around with. So, it makes moving the camera around to the walls where the lyrics are written, it makes it work even better!

Gaster really risked getting trapped in the backrooms for all eternity just for this rap battle that he wasnt even garuenteed to win. (I mean he did win but thats besides the point)
I was dumbfounded as to how the concept of the backrooms could rap, but then I watched the video and it was unsettlingly well done. The fact that you made it work so well feels illegal. Somehow, it works so well I'd say it won the battle. Now, I'm biased towards Gaster, I don't even like the backrooms, but fact is it just had much better lines and flow to it.
I absolutely love how Gaster's final verse is always calm, in every rap battle except Gaster vs Bill Cypher, completely s@iting on every diss delivered by the opposing team 😭 Backrooms' flow though 🔥

Gotta say, this was more fire than where the Core was built Also, I'm pretty sure you have plans for Papyrus in the series, but if you don't, I suggest him against Ananzi from The Black Heart (their connection is monsters from another world proving their capability in battle to royalty; admittedly a stretch since Papy is proving his worth to Undyne and not Asgore, but whatever)
As a DOATK and rap battle fan, this is a really good! While i dont like much the mentions of The Backrooms being a Show, i gotta say this is really solid! Backrooms definitly won this battle.
You know I run a roleplaying game with a few people in a setting of mine, where a significant antagonist referred to as Dr. Marrow, pretty inspired by the undertale fandom's interpretation of W. D. Gaster, and the main antagonist of this story is an individual called Cain, who used to work with Dr. Marrow, and both of them were part of an experiment which went horribly wrong... I like to watch songs like these with a friend of mine, so we can have fun interpretating how well the songs match certain storylines in my setting, and this was not one we clicked on for that purpose. We found your channel randomly, and thought the raps were so weirdly incredibly high quality... THEN WE GOT TO THIS ONE. You have no idea how much it felt like a glitch in the matrix when Gaster he raps (expectedly) incredibly alike to what Marrow's character is like in game (He's inspired by Gaster afterall, so it makes sense.) BUT THEN THE JUMPSCARE of when he says "I fell into my creation, similar to what Kane did", because it was so fucking out of nowhere accidently accurate to this totally unknown setting I made with some friends that we just happened to stumble on??? Then it got even worse when me and my one other friend, watching, get to the end, and Gaster asks us "What do you two think?" while turning to the camera. We both agreed to call this an anomaly, because this shit was a rollercoaster of emotions. Amazing rap too lmao.

been thinking about this one but i’m not sure about it, Rise Donatello vs Alphys -smartest person in their own groups -have specific interests that no one else in their groups have (purple game and tokyo mew mew) -make inventions that go against their wishes (shelldon and mettaton to an extent) -frailer then everyone else in their groups -they both like a headstrong girl (april and undyne) ok now that i’m typing this out there’s a ton of similarities
Love how Gaster came back from the void and the backrooms became sentient, learned English and became British This is really cool, two things of such mystery with people still theorising and making things about it for years to the end of the internet rapping

Because it is quite true, its the idea of someone falling into somewhere out side of time and space, but with "FUN" stripped away, because "FUN" is a specific value needed to find gaster.
I love this battle While I do think there was a lot of missed potential due to how much the Backrooms have, I do understand why it focused more on tha Kane Pixels version since he popularized them so it would be easier for regulars to understand it (even tho I think there's a lot of basic Backrooms knowledge that could have been used still) Either way I enjoyed it and epic Backrooms dub
That is valid, Backrooms has so much to reference. I did try to put in more references outside of Kane, such as the inclusion of levels ! and FUN, but overall it was easier to pull from the most popular adaptation.
