In this very unusual case, Judge Judy, apparently a bit under the weather, has to leave the courtroom temporarily during a coughing fit. While she's gone, the plaintiff, Waddell Fields, starts talking trash about the case "4200 dollars for my 2000 Mercury Cougar?... I should have gotten wasted before I came here!" He doesn't realize that Judge Judy has a monitor in her chambers, and she hears every word he said during the brief recess. When she returns to the courtroom she explains "Mr. Fields, you are an idiot!" Later in the case, Judge Judy confirms her suspicion that Fields was asking too much to replace his car. "You got overcharged Waddell." He responds "sometimes I'm an idiot." Hilarious case!
