Found a pair of clippers (Wahl, but not this model) in my closet from an old roommate that left them. The blades would not move when screwed together, was just about to toss them until I googled it and found this. Now they're at 100% perfect with the simple turn of a cheap plastic screw!
Followed these instructions and I broke the casing of the clippers (turned power screw clockwise waiting for the loud noise as described in the video). Thanks, destroyed a perfectly good set of clippers (only reason the screw was off was I was cleaning the clippers)
Just bought a new pair of Wahl clippers a month ago and started experiencing this loud sound last week while cutting my hair. Had no idea what the hell it was. This video is a god send. Thanks
I took seven screws out of my model to completely disassemble. There was a ton of hair in every crevice. After cleaning, reassembling and yes, adjusting that screw, it works great again.
Wow. I didn't like my WAHL clipper, but I just used a screwdriver to adjust the power, align the blades and stiffen the lever and now it's quiet and better than ever. Just wow. You should really include a slip of paper with *ADJUST YOUR CLIPPER BEFORE FIRST USE* and instructions in each box.
Nice video sir! I have a wahl balding clipper and i think that the white vibrator arm has bend. I can not align the 2 blades with each other. It tends to incline from the right side of the smaller blade ( from the left as you look the clipper from the front. ) Any thoughts about it?
While solving noise problem of my 4+ yrs old FYC hair clippers, I adjusted the power screw also with no clue what it was for, and I was wondering why it is no longer cutting properly with blade number 2 placed on. I have a weird ass phobia of loud clipper noises i got my wahl designers like 2 months ago and i always seen the important sticker i just never did it cause it said when your hear the clipper make a loud noise😂😂
The power screw on some wahl's have a tab that won't let you adjust it too much , if you find that you need to go past this point you can pry the plastic bit with the tab off completely and underneath it is a normal philips head screw ....
Hi. i live in Athens, Greece. I recently bought a chrome pro deluxe. I used it just today and now that i saw your video, i adjusted the screw as you said and aligned the blades as the manual says but i would like to ask you something and if you please to answer me. Most of the times, not all the times, when i turn it on, it does a noise, a clunk and i think is the upper blades that somehow hit the down blades. Ofcourse is only when i push the button to start and then stops. Is this natural? or it may be dangerous? Thank you in advance. (is my first time that i use something like this)
From Wahl website: When I switch on my mains clipper it makes a loud thud, is this normal? This is quite normal. The motor is electromagnetic and depending on how it catches the flow of electricity, can make a loud noise (similar to a hand clap) when first switched on, but this does not mean the clipper is faulty or unsafe to use.
I adjusted the screw one way and the other, looking at the blades the whole time thinking it made length of hair shorter or longer 😆..i was about to give up on them ( and i take good care of them oil and clean and whatnot) and like alot of stuff im clueless on it popped in my head... GOOGLE IT!!!😂...now they cut like beasts !!
Mine cut just fine for the first 5-10 seconds then stop cutting and its like pulling lightly my hair, i play with the power screw and it works fine again for another 5 or so seconds...
I have an Wahl clip and trim brought neew one to India And I'm using it with conversion volts plug though it sounds heavy . I used to fix the power screw but it sounds higher when I rotate it as you instruction mentioned
My wahl clipper is not cutting well, now when I'm cutting i have to use the each side or corner of the clipper, so i want to know what went wrong with my wahl clipper from cutting perfect as much as possible
It sounds like perhaps your blade is crooked? Or the teeth are dull. My first suggestion would be to apply oil and see if that fixes the issue. If not, try adjusting the blade. If you still have issues, give us a call at 1-800-767-9245 and we can take care of you.
I have a vintage Wahl Solid Small from the 50's it turns on but the blades don't seem to be moving, where would I be able to find information on how to fix older Wahl clippers? Is there chance that tightening the power screw would help?
my wahl clipper just arrived today, plugged it in, turned it on and that LOUD buzz startled me..i thought it was broken..isn't that going to damage the clipper?
Is it normal that these machines vibrate very uncomfortabily ? I had few cheap machines in my life, and bought a Moser 1400 to make a quality jump but after seeing how much it vibrates I would like to throw it out of the window immediately because 5 min of work and I have hand tired. Don't know how could use it for all the day if was a barber. Never had this vibration issue with the cheap machines so I wonder if it's normal...
my wahl super tapers make the loudest noise ive ever heard in my life, my ears are ringing after turning it on, not to mention i almost shat myself with the fright. is this normal

Nice vid question i have a wahl pro elite 220v 50hz running smooth here in uae but if i go back to my country w/c is 220v 60hz adjusting the screw will it run smooth and will not have problems ?

I dropped my clippers and chipped one the cutting blade teeth and now clippers are making loud noise I opened checked nothing inside broke or out of place and the loud noise only happens when fully closed is it the blade cause this to happen or is there something I am not seeing I already tried the screw on side did not help any help would be appreciated
I was preparing the speech I was going to give the Wahl dealer dealer for selling me a defective unit. Then I watched your video and it works perfectly. I am concerned that this happened right after 1 trim. Is that normal? The trimmer was buzzing but the blades were moving until I turned that screw.

My wahl 5 star senior gets so hot after 30 minutes. It gets to the point where I can't hold it anymore because of how hot it is. I adjusted the power and cleaned my blades too but it still gets insanely hot

My clippers cut well and i have no buzz problems, but i have that same loud click sound when turning the clippers on. Is that normal or is that too caused by the power screw

So frustrating. I have 3 professional old clippers. When i first turn them on they will cut a few big junks out . Then nothing. buzz buzz clatter clatter whatever. But no cut. Hair only 1/4 inch long but all it does is power comb it. Will sometimes cut hair on arm but only power cuts head hair. What is the deal?

Hi I have a assume a little problem with my wahl. I bought the black and chrome baldfader machine about 1 2 months ago. And it worked perfect, but this morning after about 10 cuts all in all, it started to do a metalic rattling noise. I saw that the cutting teeth and the big metal plate are not refectly centered to one another. I opened it and I can see that there is a plastic thing that holds the cutting teeth plate in place and it slides on the big plate. But I couldn't solve it and the noise is still there... What do you recommend?

Unfortunately I still have the same problem after adjusting the power screw. I also tried to loosen the factory blade tension (mines brand new) and still have that issues.
