Thank you! This was really helpful as I'm about to base my future base training on the indoor solution alongside my daily bike commute.

Well this depends on what shifter your bike has, if it isn't 10spd then you will still have to buy and replace that cassette. As far as wich to buy: Get the cheaper option if you are capable of fastening 4 bolts. The features you get from the more expensive version is not work the extra cost imo. The core has all the bells and whistles with the exception of adjustable height on the rear wheel, and that has not been needed with my core. I ride both MTB and road on the roller, and neither one has clearance issues or other angular issues. I will mention this, the more expensive version has the option to withstand over 2000W while the core only has 1800W. if you know you are anywhere close to this then go for the more expensive option. Both have cadence measurement, both are silent, both are good rollers. Tho i wish the feet on the core were wider, 10cm total, it's easy to feel unstable on it if you're up and giving it all you got as it isn't ment to tilt like the tacx rollers.

keep in mind that if you bike is not 11 speed then you eventually have to replace cassette on Kickr 18 so might as get kickr core as it is quieter according to many reviewers

I’ve been using my friends Kikr with my ‘94 8 speed Eddy Merckx and I love the performance coupled with Zwift so much that I’m purchasing it from her.!Before this I used a Schwinn Johnny G Spinner ha!

When using a mtb (boost spacing) do you use your own thru axle for both trainers?
@foxhound143
@foxhound143 4 года назад
Going for the kickr mainly because I will not need the cassette since I use a mtb with a sram 12 speed drivetrain and the base platform is not important to me.

Did it break or just make ridiculous noise? My SNAP made so much noise I returned it for warranty. The SNAP is out of stock so they are sending me a Kickr Core that arrives tomorrow. Just paid for the difference.

I have a 7 speed trek hybrid. I want to know if a 7 speed cassette will work with the kickr/core

When I did some workouts at Wahoo’s location in Atlanta they restricted it to 10 and 11 speed bikes. I’m not sure if it was because they didn’t have cassettes for any others or if it’s just not compatible though.

Would be good to have mentioned what speed cassette the Kickr Comes with. I assume 11 speed? If you ride 10 speed, like me, then you might have to change it anyway.
@petedannatt
@petedannatt 3 года назад
@Vicki Peterson mmm I thought I understood from the commentary at 1:18 was that the "Kickr" already has a cassette installed when you get it, but it is not included with the "Kickr Core". I also saw this on other sources. I eventually bought the "Kickr Core" which has been great and I can confirm did NOT come with a cassette. Did you understand something else?
@secretagentbill1
@secretagentbill1 3 года назад
@@petedannatt The Kickr comes with an 11 speed cassette. So yes, if you ride a 10 speed, you'll need to replace the cassette anyway. I ride a 9 speed, so as I'm comparing the models, the fact that Kickr includes a cassette and Kickr core doesn't, is meaningless, since either way, I need to provide the cassette.

I can chose between a core 2019 or a Kickr 2017. Price difference is only 100 usd. What would you buy?

I’m facing this conundrum. What did you choose??
@korsveien
@korsveien 3 года назад
@@nicolaselford3214 I bought the Kickr Core. Very pleased with it. I followed my own rule about always going for the newer technology. The two greatest benefits are you are able to bike more, not only when the weather is bad, but if you want a short an easy work out, I go for a 30 min ride at approx. 100 watts. So, I have more time in Zone 1 training and that's really beneficial for the long-term core stamina.

Arrived as expected with all parts intact, also included two hex keys for assembly. ru-vid.comUgkxwOUUBdw8-88Iu4QnQS7q6b2NwZkHiYVl Had to adjust mine slightly to fit my bike, this was easy enough with instructions. I bought it to train with my track bike and found it to have resistance similar to climbing a slight gradient. Takes a while to learn to balance but there is plenty of guidance to help on the internet. Edit: There was more resistance at lower speeds because of the number of contact points but at higher speeds it is much easier as you don’t have to contend with drag.

The Core sounds much quieter than the more expensive Kickr in this video. Is this really the case or is it due to positioning of the microphone?
@seannmoriarty2974
@seannmoriarty2974 4 года назад
Agreed,! One main advantage I thought the Kickr 18 had over the Core was a reduction in noise, but this video doesn't seem to support that. Thoughts?
@fastlanerc5551
@fastlanerc5551 4 года назад
Seann Moriarty Either chain needs lubing or both models are faulty and needs one of the screws inside to be tightened and have some lock tire to be put on. This only happened to about 3% of them so it’s not a big issue as it can be fixed. Both trainers are supposed to be silent and not have any clicking noise. Luckily wahoo has good support and will fix it for you for free.

The big selling point of the new Core is that they took the 2018 Kickr and made it quieter, so no, it’s not as quiet as the 18. It’s quieter. 😁 Also quite a bit less expensive.

regular one is more stable but this only matters for riders who have very powerful sprints (1200+ sustained watts)

Buy Wahoo kicker core anywhere but clever training, they will sit on your money but never ship it.

Not the best review. Should include power accuracy and worth mentioning the Kickr rocks back and forth to better simulate real life - I didn't think that was a big deal but after riding my wheel on trainer all winter then hitting the road my climbing experience is vastly better on the road because I can rock the bike back and forth while I put the power down. I rarely get out of the saddle on my trainer.
