OH SNAP. We are a feature film post house and as some people know, you can have dozens and dozens and dozens of audio tracks that need to be named and have their own default effects ... to be able to have a preset will save so much time!

That Dialogue Processor is packed full, I've never noticed it before. When I process audio I've always switched to the Fusion page and added the processors I need individually, but very little of what I do needs much, if any, audio processing. I'm a audio tech by trade, I mix concerts around the Midwest in the states. Now that I'm getting older, and my hearing is going down hill, I do very little outside of my home state of Oklahoma anymore. I have mixed a couple of plays where I used Resolve for audio only. I made sound effects by layering different clips and I had to process all of those individually. Now that I know about this multi processor effect, it will save me time in the future. Now I'm rambling on and on about nothing. I shouldn't leave comments when I've had no sleep.

There are some utterly bizarre choices for defaults in Davinci. I did indeed not know this existed 😭
@MrAlexTech
@MrAlexTech 3 месяца назад
I know right haha! They just need to put the tickbox there by default, even if there's no presets yet. Just to let you know its a possibility!

What a hidden gem! Emphasis on "hidden"! I had no idea this existed. Thanks for sharing. I had an empty timeline stored in the media pool with all my audio tracks, and I used to have to copy and paste that to create a new timeline so I didn't have to recreate the tracks. I have created a Fairlight preset now, and just have to remember to use it next time I create a new timeline!

That was so useful. I hope BMD will take this to an account to make useful things like presets more seriously. It takes a ton of time to set up all the tracks and the overall sound edits. Such an important thing.

Nice work and nice shout out to our man Jason. He has been so helpful when it comes to sound editing in Resolve. He's a good guy. And yes, once again, you managed to find some unobvious thing that is a powerful tool to speed up the editing process. A font! A veritable font of knowledge. Thanks Alex!

As ages old audio guy just my two € cents worth: to get that work on ”every video ” You’ll need to get rid of all other variables on audio production. One preset works on one occasion, next time it`ll will sound horrible and meeds adjusting to spund good. Pre created audiotracks is nice feature to have but from there starts darkness where (audio)magick happends.

I agree. Every situation is a bit different. Even the same person will have a different voice depending on the food or drink they ingested or the time of the day and such. I have to record some videos for work. Always the same sound background, noise and such and I use always the same sound equipment with the same settings. So I used to just copy the previous timeline, brought in the new stuff and then I had to only tweak a bit where things did differ. I like the idea of working with presets for such occasions. @Alex thanks for this idea. Obviously, if You have always completely different situations, the presets will not help very much. But one could still use them as a base to build on. And if something is completely different, well, then You can still do it from scratch.

I've just tried it in the free version and it works. You have to create the timeline structure, and name the tracks if necessary, then you go to the fairlight page and in the preset library from the menu you have to create a new preset with the option Fairlight Custom Preset Library. Once there is a user-preset created, the tickbox appear allowing to chose this preset when creatin a new timeline with the same tracks and features.
