Many people get taught how to walk forwards after a hip replacement but that same technique doesn't work too well when you're trying to walk backwards..
But there's a simple solution. Just reverse the cadence you were originally taught. To go backwards most comfortably, step back first with your "good" foot, followed by the painful foot, and finally the walker.
Remember to reach backwards with each foot when stepping backwards, as this will allow your arms to carry your weight on the walker.
