‪@thereluctantoutdoorsman‬ After I finish my pint at the Le Hocq Inn, Paddy G the cockapoo and I continue in our quest to film us walking around the entire coast of the island of Jersey. In this video we attempt to avoid the coastal road by walking as far as possible across the beaches towards St. Helier, assisted by a low tide!

One pint tom and you are asking yourself is this a good idea ,just imagine what two pints might have done 😂 walking on water maybe 😅 , on a serious note you are showing the world parts of this paradise island has to offer that the average holidaymakers do not see. Many thanks tom for your efforts ,last year we discovered green island, as we stayed yet again at the ambassador hotel. Many thanks tom and your companion paddy

Ha ha John...........you have the memory of an elephant my friend.......you don't forget anything! 😁😁😁Unfortunately I can't even remember the cost of the pint......Angie has told me off about that, saying that I should be letting people know the cost of beers etc. as people are interested in that sort of thing.......so, in future, when I buy a pint (which is likely to be on most walks from now on) I will try to remember prices! I do walk past the bathing pool (I think in the next part!). Thanks....as always John! 👍🏻

Hi Tom and Paddy, great to see this part of the coast which I normally only pass on the bus. I arrived in Jersey this Wednesday evening for 2 weeks. The island was invisible in the fog as our pilot contemplated whether we would be able to land, and said we may have to hold over the airport for a while😮 Happily, it seems eventually he could see more from his window than we could and we made a reasonable landing. As I am this side of the island I should explore these beaches. I have given a plug for your channel at the hotel, so hopefully you may have some new subscribers. The receptionist was particularly interested and wrote it down. Thanks for another great video. I'll look out for you on the bus😂😂

Hi Valerie, so glad you made it in safely with the fog.....I have memories of being fogbound at Jersey airport all day in the 1970s trying to get back to school in Sussex! It is a bit scary landing in that isn't it? Thanks also for mentioning the channel at the hotel.......every bit of publicity helps! 😁 I hope that the weather improves for you.........it is looking pretty grim as I type this! It looks like Paddy and I might have to settle for just heading around the block this morning! 🐕🚶🏻‍♂️

Wow you are setting off on another long trek! 👍. Had to laugh at the trousers story as I once worked with a gentleman who permanently had his posterior hanging out! I bet you could report it nowadays!😂

You were a bit adventurous with this walk Tom and I hope you had your good walking boots on with all those rocks. You see the coastline from a different perspective from the beech and seeing more lovely houses. The birds sounded like starling’s Tom, we have a local starling that sits on the electrical wire and mimics other birds and laughs like a lady really funny to listen too. I liked the story of the big guy that must have been 😄. I have been quite a few times to green Island restaurant in the past and the food was always good, is it still going or is it something else now. Played golf yesterday with my society and we must all been mad as it was 32c. I will only play in the mornings early for the next few weeks until the hot spell is over, but it didn’t stop a couple of bandits scoring big. You not going to believe it but 50 points won playing off 23 handicap and second, third and Forth place scored 44, 43, and 42 points and the handicap secretary is cutting them big time. I scored 38 points playing off eight so no chance. Look forward to the next one cheers.

Hi Nic, if you think this walk is adventurous wait until you see the one from St. Aubin to Belcroute that will be coming up in a few weeks! 😁😁😁 I love the sound of your starling.......I used to have loads of bird feeders out the back of our house, but had to get rid of them because they were encouraging rats! It is such a shame as we had so many birds visiting and I used to love watching them! The restaurant at Green Island is still going strong although I haven't been there for years! 50 points! !4 shots better than his handicap........what is that all about? We seem to hardly ever have Stablefords nowadays, but if anyone gets 36 points they are in with a good chance and that is with everyone's handicaps having gone up two or three shots over the past couple of years, since the introduction of the World Handicap System! I saw a video on RU-vid the other day about slow play and they were saying that the problem on a lot of English courses at the moment is that the rough is so tough that 90% of the members can't cope with it, so every group are looking for golf balls, almost every hole. My handicap is up to 16.3 which is unbelievably in the top 40% for England! Well done on shooting 38 points off of 8......that is good golf! I have a matchplay knockout tomorrow which will be fun! Cheers Nic.....👍🏻

I love match play just you and the other guy, play well. The guy who scored 50 points has been cut to 18 from 23 personally I would have cut him another two. Looking forward to the next video.

Think you could have mentioned that Le Hoq Inn is the most southerly pub in the British Isles? Worth a mention?

Hi Paul, thanks for pointing that out. To be honest, I didn't know that it was....that is one of the good things about doing this, I have got to learn so much about the island over the past 2 years!
