How can that man not answer the simple question that life was much better before 1975 than it is now even with the inequality. Truely beyond belief that response. 😮

Very stereotypical, whilst trying to appear as a gift to the human race. Is poverty only in Africa? How many rundown areas have you covered in London, Paris, Washington DC and even in your home country? Typical colonial mentality....saviour of the African race. I live in the UK, you do not need to travel far to see homeless people in virtually every city centre. This one-sided reporting is not true journalism, with trickles of charity handed down or raised through crowd funding for poor Africans. SMH

Jesus Christ wants a personal relationship with you through the Holy Spirit, not religion and blind faith. You see, we all have sinned, and have broken God’s law (The Ten Commandments). Wrong doing deserves justice and must be punished (just like how a criminal has to pay for the crime they have committed) but God saved us from the eternal punishment of our sins by sending His Son Jesus Christ, fullness of God in flesh, a perfect, sinless sacrifice to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross and resurrecting, so that we may have everlasting life. It is all finished and now for you to accept the free gift of grace, you must repent of your sins and put your faith in Jesus Christ and Bible says that His Blood will cover all of your sins, you will be forgiven, saved from eternal punishment, and be given everlasting life. By faith you will receive the Holy Spirit, become born again, know Jesus personally and He will transform your heart and clean you from the inside out. Turn away from sin, read the Bible, pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you and change you, obey the Word. Much love and God bless you!

@@melkammigbar5623 I completely agree with you. This guy makes a living thanks to showing the lowest of the low, the worst places on Earth. And I don't mean the cities which he goes to and are normally nice but somehow he always ends up at the back alleys where sh*t is flowing everywhere, people get murdered every single day and nobody is doing anything about it. It's not photojournalism as some people would call it. This is sinking to the lowest levels and making money off it. I have been living in Moçambique for 18 years now. In Inhambane, 500 km from Maputo. Terra de boa gente. The land of the good people. I don”t lock my doors at night, can walk at any time on the beach or time and feeling safe. There is no violence by the people. People are humbled, helpful and with big smiles. My car is never locked with the keys inside and my property does not need a fence….of course in all poor Capital cities you will find some crime, but not as this video make it seem like. I can only recommend to visit the land of the good people….😊 one thing that is unfortunately true is that there is a lot of corruption and the police not to be trusted. But the people are very welcoming and wonderful!

The fact of the matter is that an underclass exists in every country in the world. Will highlighting them change anything? I have my doubts. No matter how much opportunity some are provided, they will squander it. Some underclass are victims of tragic circumstances. Some are simply victims of poor choices.

Im surprised that it is deemed as not safe. In 2010, I lived in mozambique for 1.5 years, in Chimoio, Inhambane and Maputo, i always felt safe. I walked the streets of Maputo at night, sometimes alone. I had Mozambiqan friends. I never witnessed any crimes, ive been to almost every part of the city and it didnt feel like there was any crime at all, if so it was minimal, it felt so safe. Im sad if times have changed.

Love your videos. Sorry you are having such rough travel in Maputo. I was there in November and did not have such issues. Did hire a local architect and the two of us we spent most of one day walking throughout a very large area of the downtown and surrounding region for many hours - careful but not unsafe per se. Maputo is famous for its bauhaus buildings and the local art scene is just buzzing with fantastic works (not the tourist art, much more creative and innovative designs). It is a very exciting place to go.

Having watched the video, I am still not sure which area was "not safe"? If walking around Baixa (downtown) during the middle of the day is deemed "not safe", then pretty much every city in the world must be deemed "not safe". Maputo (and Mozambique in general) is definitely relatively safe, so it's a shame if this misleading title affects people's perception of a wonderful country.
@MagdaleneRose
@MagdaleneRose 11 месяцев назад

@craig16576 Yeah, fair enough. It certainly isn't the best area of the city, but claiming it's unsafe during the day is just wrong in my opinion. As a Portuguese person from Portugal, thank you for bringing me so much awareness of what happens in Mozambique. My mother was born in Maputo (Lourenço Marques), and my grandparents used to run a small store there many years ago. It breaks my heart to see some of these harsh realities and how the people are eager for a change. Portugal just completely abandoned its old colonies to the wolves, so to speak... and it I think it should have never been like that.
