It's 2023, I was just rewatching Stephen Donald's stuff up. Fortunately he got to redeem himself the following year. Australia now a firm third-tier rugby nation along with the Foster coached All Blacks.
I was on a Qantas flight from Auckland to Los Angeles on the night this game was played. In the morning, the captain came on the intercom and reported that Australia had won. A New Zealand passenger was heard to mutter that if the All Blacks had won we would never have heard about it.
Australia has so much depth now. Robbie took a huge step backwards by taking on the young guys but we are about to reap the rewards. Going to enjoy watching our 2 steps forward... :)
....wow, this comment 12 years ago. Australia now a firm third-tier rugby nation along with the Foster coached All Blacks. I was just rewatching Stephen Donald's stuff up.
We didn't lose the cup, just the game. You seem to have forgotten that. Good that you're a fan at least, Thankfully most AB fans do give a shit about the Bledisloe Cup and actually know abit about rugby to know how much it still means to the players. It's ok to be proud of having both cups you know. Oh, and thanks for update on the World Cup, I didn't realise when I mentioned it in my post that I didn't know we finally won that bloody thing. :-/
How awesome watching this again. Quade, you got your beans twice in Auckland in 2011. Donald redeemed...talk about an over the top reaction to winning a dead rubber. I liken Aus rugby to NZ cricket when in the context of trans-Tasman competition, you don't see the Black Craps acting like that when they have a rare victory.
dick fister. when it becomes a national game with a national competition and a nationally selected team on merit. the nect thing they'll need is a coach. not too much to ask for if you want to be dominant. newer teams to the international competition are leaving straya in their wake. and there is plenty of them. maybe the truth is that straya is doomed in this event.
@Soccer10565 Umm sorry the top 3 world ranked teams are from where? And how many RWC's have Ireland won? Dont get me wrong Ireland has a strong team and have been building for a while, but lets not forget our place now ; ).
They get treated like gods because they're one of the best teams in the world both club and international. Best winning percentage and considering only 4.5 million that's pretty good.
New Zealand did make the dumb mistake of kicking the ball to lose possession at 79:30 minute. Any other team would have just done a pick and go to run the clock down then kick it out. On the other hand, that would be a bit boring and pretty annoying so in a way I'm glad that they let the game carry on and allowed the aussie to score a wonderful try that wins them the cup.
Mate they won let that be the end of that. We knocked them out of the Cup, and we've consistently beaten them since then. Lets show some grace when things don't go our way (which, may I emphasize, isn't very often anyway)
Moore missed two try saving tackles at 2:26 and 3:35. i would love to know the Wallaby who tackled at 2:29. I hope we bench Phil Waugh for an Impact player at the RWC 2011. Hoiles is a great impact player. Definitely better than Brown Dick. Or is it Dick Brown.
it doesnt matter anymore cause he has been kicked out of the squad which is awesome cause the wallabies dont have to suffer for kiwis booing a fellow kiwi on the wlbys squad. He single handedly fukd our chances in the world cup anyway along with our kiwi coach so im glad to see him gone cause things picked up at the bronze when he got injured and barnes was brought in and it continued afta the wc against barbaas and wales.
@adamtflier How many times have you beaten New Zealand in the past 11 games? Once. And how many years have New Zealand held the Bledisloe for? Eight. Whos the best team in the world? New Zealand. Ask me that question on the 24th of October and ill tell you yesterday.
@MBAXMAN93 yeh my bad Don't kno what I was thinking when wrote that. They won the fourth test- JUST. Nz completely owned them. Thanks for the correction mate :)
@KurtCummings5878 Lol im a Kiwi and agree. You would think we would have learned what it takes to win a world cup by now. But we'll just resort to the blame game when we lose again. It was the ref, food poisoning, the ball was flat, he called me names blah blah blah
I'm a New Zealander but I can't stand the sight of the All Blacks the people treat them like gods. When New Zealand won the WC they thought they were so amazing problem is they've only ever won it at home all the other Champs have won it away from home. They got lucky winning the WC with the ref on their side seriously how many advantages did France get? I say bring on 2015 so they AB's can say good bye to their fluke of a trophy.
@GuerillaGanja Ireland is my second team anyway but they wont beat the wallabies. with the exception of Tommy Bowe, Paul O'Connell, BO'D,and maybe Jamie Heaslip, there would be noone else i would pick in front of the front line wallaby players. 4/15 aint bad, but its not going to win you the pool. i do thik you're good enough to beat SAF in the quarter finals though. They hate playing Ireland (thier bogey team).
@GuerillaGanja I take all rugby banter in good heart. Ferris and Obrien are impressive players, along with David Wallace and Heaslip they make a pretty formidable backrow. Would definately consider them over Rocky Elsom (as rocky has played like shit since returning from Leinster). If ireland play like they did against the English in the 6 nations this year, they will win the world cup. Pity about that fuckwitt referee Kaplan in the Wales game. Could have had the triple crown.
Claw Clap; australia cant fill the stands at home. its only a little known game played in queensland and corners of nsw. also, i think they be too embarrased on home ground they way they play, like.
That's the mistakes of the wallabies before the world cup cos it gives them a false hope and even the tri nation of 2011 it also gives them false hope and they cried in Eden park in the semi final. And they need to change that attitude
@adamtflier atleast we dont lose to crap teams on the end of year tours and we have won more bedisloe cups and tri natons then you guys, also youve only won one more world cup then us
If u show me evidence of a stadium of aussies in the 2003 wc treating the ab with such utter disrespect like was shown to us in ur worldcup, i will hands down say we are hypocrites and deserved that sort of treatment, but offcourse you wont cause all u will see is aussies cheering and showing respect 4 the allblacks at every game against someone else. 2011 is the first ever worldcup to have eva single out a team and boo and laugh at them so how the fuk can u say we love to give stick to others
