I grew up in the 80s...we didnt know how good we had it till we got older. Love this era, best music, toys, movies, sports, and these were prosperous wonderful times.
I mean, billy idol, duran duran, The Cars, Stray cats, cyndy lauper, go gos, inxs, etc kind of changed everything. Hippie days were gone. Edgy synth music or new wave rock was in.
Jamás los 80 no tienen comparación, todas las grandes bandas de la historia de la música tienen su mejor momento en los 80's. El 31 de diciembre de 1989 prácticamente se murió la buena música!!!!
The 80s was incredible...All the new sounds coming out all the time. The new wave was exciting, the ska /mod scene in so cal was fun. It was a good set up for the 90s. Hasn't been anything like it since. I was so bummed when MTV started to play the glam rock/GNR ...I knew the times were coming to a close.
If you were old enough to enjoy the 80’s you know exactly what this felt like. Just two years later I would be at this same venue for one of Guns and Roses most classic performances. The 80’s were kick ass because you could listen to a wide variety of styles and everything was just all about the party. Oh yeah and nobody was walking around like a zombie with a phone in their hand, they were living in the moment. Until you passed out later that night that is…
As a kid in the 80s and 90s I never understood why people of a "hard genre" that wasn't mainstream friendly like hard heavy metal or hard gangsta rap couldn't be seen listening or liking anything else, or else their image would be ruined.
@@KittyMike32202 2002, you make me feel so old. LoL. I'm probably your parents age. But your lucky to have parents that have exposed you to this music. I'm grateful to have been born at a time to have experienced the 80's fully. All of my teen and high school years were in the 80's. The 80's were just a special time. At the time we just didn't know it. Regards to your parents for exposing you to this great music. Younger generations just don't appreciate how great those times were. The fact that you do understand just makes me happy....
When I was 17 me and my buddy went to see “The Cars” and Wang Chung was opening for them. As my friend and I entered the stadium and made our way to our seats this was playing. I’ll never forget it. Great times…
I was fortunate enough to have experienced this song in real time back in the 80's. The opening riff of this song just touches my heart in a way I can't fully explain. It brings back memories of my teen years. Listening to my 80's boom box radio late night in my teen bed room. This has to be the best performance of this song. So many teen memories of this music group. Happy memories. I can't explain it better.
you don't have to explain it. the music hits us; connects us with the bittersweet past in ways that are...ineffable. it's just magical & we can all share it.
I totally understand where you are coming from. Great to know people out there that experienced this great decade especially up to 85. Such fabulous music, films, life in general. We will not see its like again. It was so good but makes us so sad in other ways remembering that wonderful time.
Although I was born in 1995 it’s just something about the 80’s and the music that just touches my soul!! I sometimes get saddened by the fact that I wasn’t able to experience the 80’s in person only through great great music and videos like such!!! This song along with other songs just screams 80’s!!! What a time to be ALIVE!!!!! Also a special thanks to the people who decided to record concerts back in the 80’s so that the ones who wasn’t born then could enjoy them!!!
I grew up in the 80's and believe me, I live those years everyday with this music. You had to live thru it, not only that, but the movies were also somehow connected to all of it. The entire 80's culture was awesome. Take a look at the video for, YOU BELONG TO THE CITY, by GLEN FREY. That video says it all.
This song is a masterpiece tidal wave collision of music & art...the enormous undertoe sweeps you right out to sea! Just don't forget to take your baby by the hand.
Fantastic live performance! Martin Winning on Sax gives a stunning masterclass of how to give every bit of your soul to something you love doing ,blown away 👏
I miss this so much these were great times!! This song is simply brilliant!! They don’t makem. Like this anymore!! As so many from my generation these are true musicians!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have a cassette tape of Wang Chung, a movie soundtrack called "Live and die in L.A." It still sounds amazing. They were very rhythmically powerful. I know nothing about the band so it was great to watch and hear this song in a live performance.
OMG, fabulous to see this band again. So many comments complimenting this performance and I have to agree absolutely. Outstanding!! Long live the 80's!!
It's perfect. All of it. The music, the lyrics, the performance... Jack's intros and thank yous, the vibe is on another level. Don't even get me started with the killer sax solo... What is like this today? I'm gonna watch again...
This live performance is awesome . Watch Jack Hues give a fist pump in the intro about 30 to 40 seconds in . He knows this is going to be on tune right from the start cheers .
Never saw a life performance of this song but I can sing it every word! Loved it so much when it was in the charts. Memories of days gone by, but the music is still there and will be!
Go read the lyrics to this, just crazy. One of my favourite 80's songs and I grew up in the 80's not even remembering this song, I only heard it in GTA, but it's one of the best 80's songs all the same.
