The method will vary depending on the veggies you use, but here’s a rough guide... Olive oil 1/2 a red cabbage 100g brussels sprouts 1 carrot 1 courgette 1 tin sweetcorn, drained 2 spring onions 1 red chilli Chickpea or gram flour (we used about 50g but it will depend on how watery the veg are) Salt and pepper to taste If you have one, use a mandolin, grater or food processor to finely slice the veg. Add to a bowl with a pinch of salt. Sprinkle in the chickpea flour by a couple of tbsp at a time, mixing with your hands until it starts to bind together adding more chickpea flour as needed. Drop a tbsp or so of mixture into a pan with olive oil and fry for a couple of minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Serve with your favourite dipping sauce, ours is a blend of parsley, kefir, lemon juice, garlic, tahini and salt. Enjoy! 💛
@@Haku_na8I think cauliflower would be delicious addition. I think this is what they want to promote with this recipe..experimentation. Use the vegetables that you have in your fridge don't be afraid to try different vegetables each time, you will see that with experimentation you will realise which vegetable combinations you like best..
In Indonesia we called this Bakwan. The different is most bakwan here full with flour. Better we made it by ourself so we can minimize the flour content. It is delicious btw
I love that this is so lightly cooked and so fresh. I often think of veggie patties as being overcooked, but this one is almost like a salad. I’m gonna try it tomorrow thank you.
Dairy has many adverse health effects, so I'd choose a plant-based yoghurt for the dressing. Other fermened plant foods are sauerkraut, kimchi, tempeh, natto, miso, pickled veggies, kombucha, water kefir.. 💚
Instead of frying it, what else can you do to make them? Would putting them in the oven be all right? I am trying to avoid oil as I've noticed I do not feel too well when using it.
Was that wheat flour added to the mix? How did the veggies stick in the pan? Wheat isn’t good for the gut, what is a healthy substitute? Chickpea flour?
I tried this and all I got was wet cabbage pancakes that smoked out my whole kitchen. Maybe I did something wrong, but definitely do not recommend this particular recipe. Skip the flour and frying - just have a nice salad
What type of flour did you use there to bind it? I love cooking like this as it's so free, I can use whatever I fancy throwing in. Unlike baking which is so precise 👍
We suggest using chickpea or gram flour (roughly 50g but it will depend on how watery your veg are). Totally agree, the flexibility of this recipe is what makes it 👏
If we could get the world eating 30 whole plant foods a week with ~30 grams of fiber and 7000 steps a day, we would solve all the world's problems as a result.
It's less of a recipe and more of a method that will vary a lot depending on the veggies you use but here’s a rough guide... @@joinZOE I really appreciate your response! I was particularly interested in the flour you used, (thank goodness for gluten free) and the dressing with kiefer!! That sounds like I need to give it a try! Thanks again!! ❤️
Hi, thanks for sharing the recipe in reply to a comment. However, your reply will get buried, so could you repost it in a comment and pin it? Many thanks - looks lovely
