This is how I smell great all year round in India! Ittar is a type of perfume that is made from natural ingredients like flowers, herbs, and spices. It is commonly used in India and other parts of South Asia and the Middle East.
Unlike most perfumes, ittar does not contain any alcohol or synthetic chemicals. Instead, the fragrance is extracted by soaking the ingredients in water or oil and then distilling the mixture. Ittar comes in small bottles and is applied by dabbing a drop or two onto the skin or clothing. It is known for its long-lasting and intense fragrance.
For more information on how to buy ittar, see my blog post "Avoiding Fake Ittar: A Guide to Buying High-Quality Traditional Perfume in India" blog.karlrock.....

@@LightLoveLaugh The word 'attar', 'ittar' or 'itra' is believed to have been derived from the Persian word itir,[4] which is in turn derived from the Arabic word 'itr (عطر), meaning 'perfume'.[5][6] The earliest recorded mention of the techniques and methods used to produce essential oils is believed to be that of Ibn al-Baitar (1188-1248), an Al-Andalusian (Muslim Iberia) physician, pharmacist and chemist.[7] The Egyptians were famous for producing perfumes throughout the ancient world.

Itr عطر in arabic(as u wrote it) just means perfume, there are synthetic ingredients depending also on the shop, they just use your usual concentrated notes and essential oils, i dont recall seeing them put in alcohol but they might have as most of us arabs opt for the spray bottles but men and especially older men like the ones in your video, the lack of alcohol probably has to do with why they smell strong and stay for a really long time, i wouldnt use them on my skin though, theyre quite strong and if your skin is sensitive it might irritate it, and jasmine really is a popular scent Try oud and musk as well, i love using musk, white musk is usually used by females and gives a lovely clean smell and musk is also great to prevent or lessen sweat smell, black musk is usually used by men, both used on skin, i like to apply on my wrists n neck then just rub gently against my clothes for a light smell, n although im female i still use black musk(ran out of white) and discovered that using it after using baby oil will make it fade into a chocolate chip cookie scent after a few hours, very yummy Also, real musk isnt as strong and heavy like in perfumes once u dot n rub it in, i personally really dont like musky perfumes, also if u just use some oud incense the smell will stick lightly on you instead of it being strong and overpowering

عطر it’tir is an Arabic word. It is called for any fragrance that comes from flowers. Cardamom contains it’tir too. Oud(عود) is considered it’tir from special trees such as Agarwood(oud). The word عطر spread through other languages such as Persians, Urdu and maybe Turkish during the Islamic empire where lots of sellers travel and bring things from the east to the west around the Middle East. And yes we have these types of fragrances in Saudi Arabia but unfortunately you have to search for it. Most fragrance brands use Alcohol.

In the 10th century AD, a prolific Persian polymath named Ibn Sina or “Avicenna“ to the Europeans, created a way to extract aromatic compounds from plant material. Today, this system of extraction is known as steam distillation. One of the plants that he first distilled was the infamous Rose x Damascena or Damask Rose. By steam distilling the rose petals, he was able to obtain two by-products, an essential oil and rose water. The concentrated oil was used to make attars and to treat health conditions and the rose water had a wide array of uses from culinary to scenting fountains of palaces and mosques. This led to the Persians exporting rose water along other commodities such as fine textiles and carpets to as far away as India and China in exchange for exotic woods, spices, and porcelain.

Itr has actually originated from the persian word called 'Itir' meaning perfume or scent. However, Ancient India also had its fair share of perfumes and Brihatsamhita (500 AD) of Varahamihira, describes thirty seven verses dealing with the term 'gandhayukti', meaning blending of perfumes.

I think hamein in expensive faaltu perfumes se achha chandan aur itr ya roll-ons par kharchna chahiye apna paisa. Because isse local logon ko bhi faayda hoga rather than big brands from Europe and America. Chandan ko bahut shubh maante hain Hindus. Tikka bhi lagaate hain Chandan ka aap jaante honge. Essential oils ke hi kevde/itr lene chahiye mostly ham sabhi ko Expensive to hoga but main try karna chahta hun Sirf Muslims hi kyun sab Bharat ke log ise use karein to bahut achha hoga. Thanks sister

Hi, I used to make custom perfumes for a while. Be aware that natural extracts are really acidic and would even eat holes through plastic. Adding alcohol is only common sense and it reduces the acidity. and applying perfume to pulse points to make it stronger is a myth. Also don't rub the perfume after applying it. Strong concentrates are not easily tolerated in certain scenarios: Don't wear them to the office. Avoid them in public transport or when carpooling. Generally, you have to have several fragrances: 1. Work 2. Personal casual 3. Persona Special occasions One perfume for each per season. Plus, avoid Itr if you are in close proximity with people who are hyper sensitive to perfumes. Avoid them at all costs when encountering people from Japan.
