im going to be fuking honest here. the root problem of this is because the devs are doing a propaganda for russia. they are promoting russian tanks and planes as very good compared to the tank it faces. people woudnt leak shit if gaijin balance the fuking game and say its not realistic. fuking coksuker
With all I've heard about the War Thunder forums, I'm convinced if we ever wanted true unquestionable proof of UFOs/Aliens it would be for the devs to put one in game and someone would want to prove them inaccurate.
I kinda feel bad for the devs tbh. They keep asking their community to stop because they don't want to be involved in this kinda stuff for obvious reasons but it just keeps happening.
I wouldn't be surprised if they love the popularity, though. Gaijin are Russian (nominally Hungarian nowadays) and I believe they have been involved in some scandals involving their country of origin, so it's not impossible to believe that any document leaks would find their way to relevant organisations. Of course, once it goes on the internet, it doesn't matter who owns the forum, and if Russian equipment info leaks, that's not great for them either.
@@del7896 If they're in Hungary now then they're lucky. Had they still been in Russia, there'd be plenty of 8th storey windows just waiting for War Thunder's management to accidentally fall through if Russian military leaks appeared on their forums.
I hope the devs are releasing all the information they have about the idiots leaking this information to the relevant The fact these people are so pathetic they are willing to risk real lives to win a frigging argument over the internet is sad.
Don't feel bad to the snail (Gaijin)!! They refuse to fix their junky volumetric that results to russian bias. It took a campaign of review bombing just to fix or force them to fix the economy. Overall, it actually increased their player base with me being a victim.
As a collector of military handbooks (strictly declassified and released to the public by the military itself), I find this sad but hillarious at the same time.
In a certain way this is hilarious, imagine wanting to win an internet argument so hard that commit a crime. And so I can't avoid to laugh at that meme of "0 days since classified information has been leaked on the War Thunder forums. On the company side, I find it hard for them to do anything else besides saying how much they don't approve and don't use this and removing any thread with classified information.
its a case of people wanting to be objectively right. no one wants to be wrong, and those with less brain cells tend to want to win a argument at any cost. so much so they don't think about the consequences of their actions.
Most of the classified documents leaks for aircraft so far this year (F-15E Strike Eagle, Su-57, Typhoon DA7, and F-117 Nighthawk) were about aircraft that are not even in the game. After this video was uploaded there have been two more forum posts showing restricted documents, one for the F-117 Nighthawk on September 12th, and one for the AH-64 Apache on September 15th. It's highly likely that there will be more this year.
It makes more sense that he'd be an engineer because he'd have more reason to be so angry that he'd leak classified documents and he probably kept it a secret to hide the obvious bias as a commander would have less of a reason to care on such a level.
When you hear this type of story for either War Thunder or World of Tanks Multiple times, it starts becoming "Why the bloody hell are they leaking classified tech details?"
Minecraft Discord was the original source for Teixeira leaks... and unlike the 6 bucks manual recently leaked on WT that was not classified and just, at worst, a pirated book shared for free, the leaks on Ukrainian air defense ended up killing civilians. I seen debris and corpses moved away from the house across my window a week into May, my district got bombed because Jack Teixeira leaked a classified briefing that shown us running out of anti air defenses by May 2023 and where EVERY big system is located. Then McDonalds and University hit in the same city... That killed people. Pointing to weak points in air defense murders civilians. Always.
It's to argue with the devs and other players about the actual specs, ie the T-34 being so good in game, despite public documents showing it wasn't great, it's specs were released, yet Gaijin refuses to fix it. And that they supposedly have classified documents saying how good it was in WWII. They also just want the clout of they were right.
To be fair, getting mad at the T-34 being too good in game is something to be annoyed about, but When the country the company works out of makes it literally illegal to “discredit the competence of the armed forces” including that of the WW2 red army, I can’t be too mad at them for having a noticable Russian bias in places.
Putting many peoples' lives at risk to win an argument, on the internet no less, is peak pettiness and hubris. Also, the devs have my sympathy, as it sounds like a nightmare trying to keep this all under control. Having government agencies and national security breathing down your neck is not something I envy in the slightest.
Honestly, this is the main reason why I wish war thunder never tried modern vehicles. Cold War sure why not, but current vehicles in service still??? Recipe for disaster, and even then, likely untouchable to most players given the sheer grind needed to reach that tier in game.
If anyone is wondering why War Thunder and other games won't use classified Documents or even risk using Documents claiming to de declassified without checking first. Is if the Documents is real and Classified and they use them in their game it pits the game developers at risk of beig persecuted for treason or the game getting put in the cross hairs of a Government. Im honestly surprised War Thunder with this problem even allows images or links to be posted on their official forum.
Why the F would a russian dev arrest someone who leaks western docs TO RUSSIA for treason? They might reward them, not punish. US might. Jack Teixeira was arrested. OVER A YEAR after he started stealing American secrets. Trump is still free tho he at least only betrayed USA, and not leaked Ukrainian air defense map.
The spot may be common but every nation builds their tanks in a different shape and configuration, some address the mantlet weakness with new armour composites and sheets for example, it might still be a weak point but you'd need to know what angle, how high and how far you can hit said spot for any effect.
Hearing The Offspring's The Kids Aren't Alright open the video wasn't a choice I was expecting, but as a longtime fan of the band, I definitely appreciated its inclusion. Kick ass work as always Slope!
thankfully they seem to finally wanna try a more customer friendly strategy. whether out of shame, goodwill, or simply because they're bored and have squeezed enough porjected money from cashgrab method we won't know
@@damio6865until a LITERAL PLAYER REVOLT AND MONTHS LONG REVIEW BOMBING CAMPAIGN, the game was becoming so large and grindy where even average play performance was often punished with little research progress and a punishing economy. Basically they balanced the game progression system and economy on the top 10% of players and if you weren’t then you either had to pay up or spend months-years grinding, by which time the previous best vehicles were already long outdated in the meta. I too was disillusioned for a while and while I’ve tepidly returned, I can no longer bring myself to grind, only doing so to be with friends who are still grinding and appreciating the massive quality of life and economy changes that recently happened. Things are better now, and the developer roadmap seems to imply things will continue to get better for a bit, but for a while it felt less like a game and more like a job.
The only tank I'm personally even remotely familiar with is the M4 Sherman, which I instantly recognized as what Howard Stark modified into his HYDRA Stomper armor in the MCU adaptation of Marvel What If?
Going back to the BBS and early internet Usenet days people have an extremely long history of posting information that they shouldn't in order to win online arguments. It's one big reason why in my own IT career I kept most online forums and the like at arms length while I was doing work for the US military & Fortune 100 companies in the 2000s and 2010s. Even now I only participate in online game forums for games are not set in the real world in any meaningful way.
This reminds me a lot of the Unidan situation, where a guy on Reddit goes off the rails trying to school people about his otaku-like obsession (in Unidan's case, birds) and resulting in their life being ruined (although Unidan's biggest crime was using sock-puppet accounts to boost his Reddit karma, not sharing military secrets on the internet).
The thing is that providing documents related to these vehicles on these change request was actually encouraged by Gaijin albeit it was at the time when War Thunder were still stuck in WW2 and Post-War era where pretty much everything about vehicles about those era are just declassified so they are safe to be shared around. The problem rises when War Thunder starts to get more and more modern vehicles, we get Gen 2 IR sight, Laser Rangefinder, SACLOS ATGMs, BVR AAMs, etc. and set of new classification like IFVs and MBTs abandoning WW2 armored vehicle classification (though the stat card still calls them Light Tank and Heavy tank). Some people still follows Gaijin encouragement to post documents on them unaware to the fact that they are literally commiting high treason. With this, Gaijin are free to put Stalinium/Putinium on every Soviet/Russian vehicles which are still in service.
Leaking classified documents is the least of the problems with War Thunder. Predatory monetization, pay to win mechanics, loot boxes, poor game and map design, the in-game messaging systems run on IRC... The game is almost a scam.
Leaking documents are more of a concern than people's bad financial choices. People can take these documents, sell them on the Black market or use them for their own benefit. Not like Russia needs them, because they're already capable of destroying Western tanks, but someone like North Korea would love a juicy Challenger or F-22 document.
I used to play a lot of War Thunder, and a lot of the players are foamer rivet counters who get so obsessed about the game that they stop having fun but can’t stop playing. It leads to a lot of really weird situations and cognitive dissonance. (Also their not-so-micro transaction strategy is really good at triggering the sunk cost fallacy, it’s really devious.)
They owe me an F4 phantom for the US I bought it and never received it, they said wasn't their fault and I had to trouble shoot with third party😂😂 I'm still pissed nvr got to jet around
Technically, the last bit with Anton claiming, that they will never use these infos IS INCORRECT. Someone posted classified informations about the Type DTC10-125 shell. Which was of course deleted. but a few weeks later this sabot round was found in the most modern chinese tank in War Thunder.
The shell itself was already on the game's test/development server, by the time it got leaked. The apparent reason for the leak, was to show that the game has wrong stats for it.
I always look forward to your new videos, they're always so thoughtfully researched and entertainingly performed, bringing my well being in absolute bliss. Thanks chum
That idea abiyt gaijin and Wargaming only using unclassified docs - is BS - they update them all the time to 'balance' them out. - it's a game at the end of the day.
Damnit, i came here to learn about the 35th time classified secrets were leaked due to an online game, not be smacked in the face by 90s nostalgia with The Kids Aren't Alright.
I don't know anything about this game so I was just sitting here, waiting for the reveal and the "Oh my god" that left my mouth at 5:35 was one of immense disbelief
Oh, my freaking Lord, this is absurdly hilarious in the most tragic way possible. Imagine being so petty that winning points in an Internet argument comes at the expense of committing a crime and potentially putting thousands of people's lives at risk. I don't know how I'd be able to sleep at night if this happened to me.
Not sure if the video was uploaded as 720 as the max or RU-vid just hasn't made the 1080 version available yet. Gonna wait and see if 1080 is available a lil later before watching the full video because apparently I'm a resolution snob now 😅
As for the leaks this year, it’s hilarious that there have been leaks for the Eagle, Felon, and Typhoon considering none of them are in game. The F-16 and MiG-29 were added recently and the MiG-21 has been in game for a long time. I don’t know what’s left for to remain classified about the MiG-21 since it’s been in service for about 60 years and is likely going to leave active service soon.
Sir, I absolutely love your videos, the voice, humor, just overall style, and the content itself always seems very well done! Thank you for your time, doing what you do, and for being you! You rock! Have a wonderful day/evening to all! 🍻🌎❤️🎶🕺
@@slopesgameroom well, if nothing else, you just made my day and that itself should count for something! 😊 I think you're great and just fun to watch! (I mean I think you're accurate as you can be and all too) Keep up the fantastic work and keep your wonderful attitude! Appreciate ya! 🍻❤️👍
War Thunder is that game that claims to be a sim, but falls flat on the realism front, resulting in fanboys trying to push the devs to "fix" the supposed inaccuracies, not realizing that those inaccuracies are there by design.
Predictably, the Russian game developers have incorporated an enormous amount of bias for the Russian tech trees into the game. This was proven a few years ago by examination of the games hard code. Russian vehicles have all kinds of hidden modifiers to make them more competitive, like anti-spalling modifiers, angle penetration modifiers, and all kinds of kidden tweaks that make them both more survivable and more deadly. The games volumetric damage system seems custom made to favor Russian vehicles. In the air, their aircraft climb faster, turn tighter, and lose energy slower than they did historically. I've played the game since 2014, and it's always been like that. Currently, Russian vehicles completely dominate top-tier gameplay. This has become even more egregious since the war in Ukraine began. As always, politics and Russians, are completely inseparable.
It's so sad to me that world of tanks and warthunder are basically the only places for people into tanks. Both have just become such awful pay to win monetization schemes skinned with tanks it hurts. Marketing dark patterns are their corporate bibles.
Im sure Gaijin is against knowing its stats and weaknesses. The Russian federation right now is probably not saying please make them stop sending us info about our enemy's tanks lol
As a veteran, any weapon or platform is only as good as the sum of its parts which includes the people using the weapon to the maintenance folk that keeps it in top shape. The first argument about a weapon ive heard was the AK-47 vs M-16 debate., and boy the AK simps was a sight to behold.
Uh two slight corrections; 1. The challenger 2 is basicly nearly fully retired from brittish service, and the ukraines are the only country that still has it in service.. 2. It's not as good as the leopard or abrams since in ukraine these are the ones being destroyed much more easily and having the biggest risk of having the ammunition killing the tank crew since both the leopard and abrams have a separate section for the ammunition with blowout panels making the crews safe from ammunition hits. Also there are tanks of wich are still classified in warthunder thus you need to check your sources a bit closer..
Ruzzia: How to find out about classified military equipment - Make a game with nice "toys". Makes everyone play it. Make Ruzzia super OP. Rant! Some passionate dude posts classified information just to prove is right. Jackpot! BTW: +1 for the RedAlert music. It was always about sovie... I mean Ruzzia.
Wow Well said, all the names at the end of the video ; all of the RU-vid I guess shout outs of every single persons name? You did it all correct , in one take! Much props that IS DJ skills. do respect it.
When I saw the description saying that War Thunder could be no more, I was thinking that it was running afoul of gambling laws or something that would actually go against the company. I haven't heard anything about any government taking action against Gaijin for leaks being posted on the forums.
@slopes they made the challenger 2 basically down the street at Vickers defence system You could go watch them testing it constantly when I was younger and you could walk round them as they were kept sometimes behind a chicken wire fence you could actually touch them and there testing ground wasn't fenced off. So people could photograph it inside and out, they were not really being secretive.
i’m married one my husband served in the South African National defense force and after years of service and forming a private security company he purchased a Centurion and its his calm place. I love watching him working on it and getting to help him. He never neglects me and we always spend time together but when he has time he will go to our on land garage and work on his Centurion,Brdm 2 and BTR-70 yes he collected the armored vehicles first.
I’m pretty sure the devs initial reaction was can we add a premium version of this tank and charge $$$ for actual specs, but then thought better off it.
If I recall correctly most of the WT "leaks" aren't classified (as in only those who work with said plane/tank/helicopter have access to it), but are (pardon if I'm mixed nomenclature) marked "not for export", so every citizen of given country can see those, but said documents can't be taken/sent abroad.
Slopes dropping the ball on the nuances of the "classified" situation. Some documents that have been shared were in fact declassified but only for use in the country for origin. Weird little grey area were technically they are ok nationally, but not more. Not even digitally
I'd rather take the word of someone in the REME than a tank commander. REME are part of the technical branch and you ALWAYS, ALWAYS ! take the word of the technical over anyone else's. So it's hardly embarrassing if this is true. I think an aircraft engineer knows more about aircraft than an air stewardess or air traffic controller. I think a car engineer and mechanic knows more about cars than a taxi driver so it's hardly an own is it ? People who break things down and fix them and get them working again know more than people who operate them.
Most russian games are. The worst of that is Tarkov. Which are pretty openly support russian war against Ukraine and had ppl even touring Donbas with russian troops, illegally crossing Ukrainian border. Other developers are less egregious only sponsoring terrorists and spreading russian propaganda by making their units WAY stronger than in reality. If you think it's silly remember how many Westerners were sure that Kyiv will fall in 3 days, that Ukraine will never retake Kherson or destroyed S400s in Crimea.
I'm an airliner instructor and even then I'll think twice before put any copyright material from my company and aircraft manufacturer out to public flight sim hobby forum...
On another note, I too am a tank enthusiast, but I ain't going to leak classified national secrets to a foreign company to get lets say the M1 and its Variants to be properly modeled in the game. Currently in the game the biggest weak point that everyone seems to shoot at on the Abrams tanks is the breech, turret ring and the lower hull on the front. In actuality the game has it modeled different, the turret ring in the fron facing forward is modeled with too much of a gap, in actuality its supposed to be slightly smaller gap, also the lower hull encasing the driver has Depleted Uranium encased with chobahm and other materials which make the Abrams all be impervious in the front lower plate to all other rounds except to those of its own the M829 rounds which are DPU(depleted Uranium sabot darts). Most Tankers like myself have learned to live with these differences as we know unless the MoD or DoD declassifies the material to the public which they wont unless the vehicle itself has been phased out of use... Gaijin can only model it as close to 90% instead of 100% accurate, but that last 10% we tankers have come to learn at that point its skill that determines a vehicles worth in game.
Slope I love the video but I do have to bring up that the video's research is a bit sloppy. For example 3 out of 6 of the "in-game" fighter jets shown at the end of the video are not even in the game at the time of writing nor will the SU57 (3rd plane to shown white and blue paint) ever be added to the game. I'd recommend if ever do a video on the topic again ask some War Thunder players or RU-vidrs like Ash, Zoltan Sultan or Iron Armenian I'm sure they'd be more than willing to Collab and help with the video. Anyways good video and have a good day.
Navy mode I know it’s least played flooded by multi account farm bots to fill up the match and ruin the game for anyone playing it Damage model on naval vessels I sometimes I complain of some vessels can’t sink properly for coastals hull is black while you hit it and won’t sink properly. Bluewater vessels in old version of the game you can simply hit ships everywhere but they change the damage model creating false advertise
Honestly this is one of those things that is largely misunderstood. Leaking operators manuals which don't require a security clearance to view, and often times military members have stashed away in their garage forgotten. Doesn't constitute leaking "classified information" if this was the case you would see the FBI, CCP, MI6 breaking down people's doors.......which surprise surprise they aren't. These reason they aren't is because most of these manuals are obsolescent and don't pose a security risk. The reason most of these documents haven't received an unclassified designation is largely because no one has requested it through FOIA or other means and the government is rather lazy.
I don't say this much (okay, this is the first time tbh) but Gaijin is better off just shutting down the official forums, if for no other reason than to give plausible deniability from potential government actions.
3:56 wow so its been an undefeated tank until like 5 days ago? I don't know much at all about tanks but that does sound very impressive considering how crazy weaponry must be now
Depends on what you consider to be defeated. If I remember correctly, back in 2003 one of these became stuck after a track was damaged, took over 10 hits from rpgs and was later recovered. There was also one destroyed by friendly fire.
@@デヴィンOh, one of them was taking RPG hits all day! Also there is a distinct difference between "Immobilized" and "knocked out". Take a guess at which counts as defeated.
Can't help but be critical about stats such as this one. It is not like most modern tanks are sent to war on a daily basis. It is not quite a world war situation and so you can keep a tank on the training grounds for 30 years and still call it undefeated.
Here's the thing: the reason why these leaks happen to begin is because of the absolutely horrible balancing job that Gaijin Entertainment KFT does. Most designs tend to get neutered severely for "balance reasons" (Think Leopard 2 and Type 10 Autoloader), meanwhile Russian designs tend to be WAY more survivable than what the Ukranian conflicts have demonstrated them to actually be, because the documents they refer to tend to be heavily propagandized in the favor of the Russians and against anyone that isn't Russia or it's allies. Of course, it also doesn't help that there seems to be a priority inclusion clause where Russian vehicles are at the top of the list of inclusion over other nations (Mainly Japan; those fuckers are on suicide watch at this point). Pair these with monetization that makes EA look like a saint and the absolute pieces of shit that is Pacifica and Stona, and you get the biggest reason why people wish for a serious competitor to War Thunder.
@@Pendarr Just a pair of Europeans Gaijin Entertainment has as the Forum Moderators for their game forums. These powertripping assholes in combination with their forum's "no taking about moderation" rule is why these two can be a dick to anyone and everyone, and can in cases gaslight to get people to break rules to lock up threads. These pieces of shit would not be chosen as moderators for any other online forum. Honestly, I want the forums nuked out of existence just because of these two assholes ALONE.
War Thunder's big problem when I was still playing a few years back was that their solution to the rampant, blatant hacking was to just deny that it was happening. Maybe they have gotten it under control since then, but the second-biggest problem was the extensive, oppressive grind designed to force people to spend money in the cash shop to avoid it, which just made the game too tedious to be worth the hassle. The game just wasn't fun. I quit and haven't missed it.
The chinese cheaters haven't gotten any better if anything there are more of them and they are more blatant. If I load into a match and see more than three names in madarin I leave the lobby, not worth sinking my time in only to die to a shell from 1200m away from behind a hill and through several trees and bush layers.
