If you have problem accidentally toggling the sight stab off when trying to relock onto target and have you bomb fly all over the place and your sights going haywire, I have trick to overcome this. Instead of having sight stab as your main button to lock onto target, switch it out with bombing target point instead. This way the sights will automatically stabilize when you select a target to set the bombing point and you wont accidentally have your sights spin crazy when you accidentally disable the sight stab.
This is the best out there because of the CCRP/CCIP part, for laser guided BOMBS. Critical info left out of all the videos where people are flying higher BR planes with all the bells and whistles. For example my French Jaguar A with BGL-1000 bombs has a very basic stabilization - on or off. no fine tuning if you hit space, it will just turn off from a lock. But the critical piece is you need to get back to 3rd person view, in order to use CCRP since there is no CCIP, or ability to drop from the laser view (as far as I can tell). It ends up being simple - you lock the stabilization, go back to 3rd person, (oh you need to have specifically switched weapon to your GBU), and just drop bomb when CCRP says to. So many videos either skip laser bombs for laser missiles, or skip the more primitive laser GBUs like early Jaguar. THANK YOU!!!
Very nice vid once again, very helpful, I actually never knew that the stab button works as lock too ! Smol tip: for ccrp, you can hold the drop bomb button and it won't drop until the line is properly placed, that way you're sure to not miss the window :).
id like to point out that mavricks just recently have been fixed so that they can be lofted. you can now lock onto moving targets from even 10 miles away and hit them from about 10,000 feet
Thanks Mat...Good information...If I were to be selfishly critical, slow down and provide instructions as if you were teaching a child. I know it may make the presentation longer and boring for the young advanced user, but old guys like me enjoy this simulator also.
Only problem is that right now there is a bug where the laser loses lock when switching camera views. And that rendering of tanks is super funky especially when more than a couple km away (they phase through the ground or float through buildings).
Not that anybody really does it, but it would be logical to have very specific layouts for your hotas/mouse/kb setups. for different planes. Some commands are irrelevant on certian things compared to other things: Biplanes dont have radar. radar commmands are useless. I have an X52 Pro, which got mothblalled when I bought the Thrustmaster Warthog. It turned out that as good as the Warthog is there still arent enough buttons so I've worked the X52, rudder pedals, etc into the kit but there are never enough buttons. Some of the best advice you can take from this video is :one key, or key combo can do multiple commands, saving you on the number of combos you need to memorise. Nobody will tell you how to set your keybinds up: That's your choice; Some choices are smarter than others.
So what are the "activate target point" and "deactivate target point" controls for? I've used those 2 buttons for guided weapons since forever. Didn't know that sight stabilization did the same thing :(
You forgot to mention that you cant loft GBU's because the aircraft has to point towards the target because the bomb only has a limited angle in which it can see the laser
Hey Mat I wanted to ask you something I'm just around 200k rp away from getting the Mig-29(9.13) and it will be my first top dog jet ever How should I spade it? Getting bombs first in order to spade it all easily like some people do or going straight to unlocking all the missiles?
O Tornado alemão está com sérios bugs com esse sistema... a bomba vai indo bem, mas as vezes sai do alvo do nada... esses dias lancei um 9L dele e foi reto kkkk
Matt, pode me ajudar ?
