aw.... 6 year! this didnt age well... p-36g air ab rn is domminating! landing flap and shallow dive... oof the turn rate is legendary. i out turned hurricanes and spitfires. all of the variants. even some biplane.
Awesome video man! You have a great talent for this type of thing, I have just started out playing War Thunder in the last couple of weeks and I find these tutorials very handy for information indeed. You Sir have earned a sub!
darkyeti1974 Thank you and I am glad to hear the videos have been of use to you. :) Additionally, thank you for subscribing, if you ever have suggestions for planes to be covered or video topics, please always feel free to put a suggestion forward. :D
Zachary Gallo Thank you, I will definitely take your suggestion on board for a future Tips video, I have had a number of questions concerning that, and I hope to address it by the end, if not the middle of, October. :)
Thanks dude! I just started this game and i looove ww2 planes. What country do you prefer to me? *i already tried germany, ussr they did not work really well. Even tho the german stuka is fun.*
Every time I see you knock down an F2A-1 flying straight and level Tach rolls over in his grave. Any chance you might do a real video on the earlier Buffalo?
Thanks ^_^ The F2A1 is my current favorite ride (though I've been spending a lot of time in my Ki-45 lately). I don't understand why it's BR is 1.3 while they saw fit to give the P36A a BR of 1.7 despite the F2A1's superior top speed and high-speed handling.
jonskowitz I believe the argument may be due to the superior lower speed handling characteristics on the P-36A. If these planes were to be at higher ranks/BRs, I would say they would be at equal BRs. To give you an example, the F2A-3 and P-36G now both lie at 2.7 if I remember correctly. :)
(which is monstrously high considering they rate the P-40 at a meager 2.0... a plane that if properly flown can pretty much mop the floor with both of them). I agree that's probably the argument they're making; I just disagree with their conclusion. Personally I always considered them equals with differing strengths; and I personally value climb-rate and high-speed over low-speed dog-fight handling as a personal preference.
Pepper Uranus Good question. It will out-turn the Hurricane Mk. II in all circumstances, yet the Hurricane Mk. I can out-turn it at lower speeds (i.e. less than 250 km/h). Concerning the Zero, and I assume here we are discussing the A6M2-N and A6M2 variants, the Zero just has a slight edge. The two planes are very close for turn circles, yet the Zero will just have the advantage. What's more, the Zero does not suffer the dreadful roll rate lock up at 400km/h (this starts to occur at ~500 km/h in the A6M2) of the P-36A, making the Zero the better turn-fighter as a whole. I hope that helps. :)
tx141TX That's interesting, i'll be careful next time i see one because i still have the Hurricane MkII in my brit line-up. I could've sworn they weren't as good turning, but i guess it's just that not a lot of people know how to play them.
Pepper Uranus The problem is, it is rather easy to associate a given fighter with either the "Turn" or "Energy" fighter categories after a couple of games, and it is this which leads to a lot of planes being underestimated (such as the P-36A here as a Turn Fighter). If you want a brilliant example of this, I would recommend either checking out my A6M3 review or flying it for yourself, and trying it in both the energy and turn fighter roles, it is one of the few planes which can do both admirably within given speed ranges (turn fights between 250-400km/h and energy fighting between 400-600km/h). The more and more you play with aircraft, you will begin to notice their special little traits. It took me well over 100 games before I realized that at 450km/h, a Yak-1B can actually out-perform a Spitfire Mk. II in a turn fight. :)
tx141TX Oh yeah i love the Zeros and i'm currently grinding the A6M3. To be honest, i haven't played the game long enough to know all those "little traits" but pretty much all British planes and all Zeros work wonders at high altitude (for me anyway). Ironically i don't do all that well with the 109 f4 which is a dedicated energy fighter... Yet somehow i can almost always do well in the 190 A1...
Pepper Uranus Aye, both the British and Japanese aircraft seem to perform well at almost all altitudes and have a consistency that other nations seem not to enjoy, especially the Spitfires. It is funny you should say that you are having difficulty with the BF 109 F-4 by comparison with the FW 190 A-1, these two aircraft (or more particularly the BF 109 F-2 if we go by equal BRs) do cause a divide amongst Luftwaffe pilots, as the BF 109 is the dedicated high altitude fighter with a more constrained armament by comparison with the FW 190 which is, in my opinion, the more versatile and well-equipped fighter, developing into a high altitude role only in the higher BRs (i.e. D-9 variant onwards). :)
I @#$%^&& hate war thunder aviation have been playing for 30 hours and can't get any kills and I refuse to sink money on it do you have any tips to help me get better
