War Thunder Realistic: Spitfire Mk Vc [Beastmode Engaged!]

2 years late I know, but this one is honestly a beast at low altitude I love it. With the 'M' engines in the Mk V and early Merlin Seafires, the full throttle height was only 5,500 feet, and loss of power was massive about about 10,000 feet and generally Spitfires with these engines NEVER flew above that height. The tradeoff for the bad medium to high alt' performance is that they were utter monsters below 10k ft: faster and better climbers than both the 109 and 190s that it faced at the time. The LF VBs and VCs with clipped wings and Merlin 45/50/55M engines were probably the best low-alt dogfighters of the war, and it's likely why they persisted in service until 1945. The fact that a clipped wing LF Mk V (either B or C) isn't ingame is a sin.

Very nice flying, Jengar! The duel vs the D9 was quite typical of what you can expect in this plane, at 4.7, vs decent opposition, you handled it superbly, with patience. Us lesser players can also learn a lot from incident in next game when you had to gamble slightly when outnumbered with a head-on vs F4, although you only stayed in his "beam" for a split second or two, but when you were on the numerical superior side, a minute later, you naturally avoided a head-on vs G2, probably without thinking, why gamble when superior? War Thunder should really make this an offical channel for learning how to play Air RB, it for sure is needed! Game itself is wonderful, really wonderful, full of well engineered details most of us are unaware of, but all those 5-mins games after waiting in line for just as long make a bit of tear on my entusiasme. Something is wrong, in my opinion, when RB is a quick game, AB the prolonged one. It is down to grinding, the devilish thing, I know, but also a bit becouse a lot of players really never learned. I partly blame some "big" You Tubers for this incompetence, putting out clips were they beat 2-3 opponents in quick fashion while beiing in the inferior position to all of them. Not helpful at all for the beginner. Thanks again Jengar for beiing very deciplined and positive, so easy to get a bit into ranting here, like I slightly do above:-) Well commented also a couple of videos ago, "some planes, sometimes this, sometimes that, will allways be OP". The difference in speed is because of the merlin M engine, amazing at low altittudes, horseshit at high altitudes

At 5.7 BR in Arcade it is woeful. Stock this can't even catch bombers. Going to try and spade it down tiered to 5.3 as a challenge! Based on your review, this looks like an RB plane :-)

Speaking of Spitfire, do you have special plans for the RAF 100 years on this Sunday?

The ammo load is the key aint it? That's what really lets down the Vb because all it's 'stopping power' evaporates unnervingly quickly!!

When you go into dogfights with enemy planes do you have your camera hot keyed to view enemy or just use it in a free camera view mode to watch them as you react? If so what key or button do you use for that?

I suck with my Spitfire Mk Vc. I get about 1 kill every battle then die (mostly). So my lions keep on going down just for repairing it. :( I need tips on turning my plane and using my keyboard. Can you do a tutorial video on all the different types of manures?

Another great video. I don't know how you're still finding time to reply to every comment Jengar. That is astonishing. I haven't had the chance to unlock the new spitfires as I have had a second fall in love with the Japanese tree, specially the J2Ms. No reply needed. Comment is just another thumbs up.

I whittled down an ene,y team in this plane, it is a great plane. However at the end I was stuck dogfighting a 109 without ammo and was saved by an uncanny pbj of all things. Bombers not useless?

I would fly the spitfire out more i just don't like it. It moves like a dream but it feels slow and i can't stand the spacing on the guns or the hispano. Which is crazy cause an/m2 is based on the hispano.

Ok I'm a little confused. Wasn't the Vc in the game for years? It was my first tier 3 plane I think years ago. Used to be 4.3 in RB. I guess they pushed it to 4.7. So it's not a new plane yeah?
