I'm really enjoying your historic overview video's Jingles, they are well built and informative. Put this alongside a replay which demonstrates what said aircraft/tank could/can do and it makes for a really enjoyable package to watch. I really hope you'll keep doing these video's. And if I could make a suggestion as to which vehicle you should cover next, please do a Tempest mk. II or V one (whichever you prefer most). Anyway, keep up the good work and make us proud! That being said. Let's head back to the salt mines...

I did a similar thing in 1.29, Spitfire Mk IX (before the split, before 150 octane) against 2 Bf 109 G-6s and 3 Fw 190 D-13s on Ruhr, led them in a merry diving spiral from high altitude down to the deck and started flying through and around a power station getting all of them to crash into buildings.

As a side note, while the British had superior jet technology up through the 1950s, it was Pratt&Whitney who were developing the engines eventually used by the SR-71 Blackbird in 1958. The J58 engines used by the Blackbird were designed to operate at a cruising speed of Mach 3.2...

KingdomOfDimensions i got a bearcat, it sucked, took to long to upgrade, so i spent gold for the modifications, its fantastic now, but i had to pay money to not grind 100 battles before it become airworthy...

Isn't WoT and WoWp the same? I mean, at this point, you're at the end of the line, tier 5, you're getting into jets. It should take a while, though I do agree it's too much and they do need to either lower the RP costs, or buff the RP income.

I've been to the Richard Bong museum just across the edge of Lake Superior from Duluth, Minnesota in Superior, Wisconnsin.. Very nice museum and some great models of planes and actual planes in there.

I had a really funny game with the P80 once in realistic battles. At the end of the game there were five P80's against three german prop planes. First two P80's were shot down, then one of our FW 190 crashed before landing. One P80 crashed as he tried to Boom and Zoom on me while i was 20 m above the ground. Then another one got shot down by the last FW 190, leaving me with my teammate flying after the last P80 who was returning to base. Then my teammate disconnects (i asked the enemy if he had crashed or something but he got kicked out of the game) and in the end the P80 ripped his landing gear when he tried to land and could not repair.

I was in that match (the guy who killed him), The first two crashes (ki-200 and J7W1) was on landing, not by following him in a dive or whatever. He got TWO planes, not four.

Basil H. Liddell Hart has written some other very good books, if you are interested in WW1 and WW2 history (not specifically on tanks though). One of them quite gutsy and interesting; The Other Side of the Hill. Germany's Generals. Their Rise and Fall, with their own Account of Military Events 1939-1945. To write it, he interviewed German officers in prison right after the end of WW2.

I always liked the P 80 Design and especially the C-Version with those tear drop tanks on the wing tips. It looks like a out of this world Sci-Fi Jet....quite magical/alien even for its time :P

Yeah one of my relatives Dominic Salvatore Gentile was killed flying a t-33a shooting star while doing flight testing. these were some dangerous crafts to fly if you were used to piston engines.

The first all-American designed jet engine worth a damn was the General Electric J47, which powered the F-86 Sabre. But it wasn't until the 50s that American jet engines really started to stand on their own two feet, with a series of superb designs culminating in the unbelievably powerful J58 powering the A-12/SR-71/YF-12A. Then the US took the lead for good in the 60s, developing the world's first afterburning turbofan in the TF30 and an engine literally a decade and a half ahead of its time, the F100 (not coincidentally, that's how long it took to work out the F100's kinks and flaws and deliver an engine that didn't have the problems of the early F100s from cramming that much thrust into a 1960s-technology fighter engine).

Hey jingels i play world of tanks on the x box grand master but i am at the teir 8 french tank destroyer the amx ac 48 and every game there is at lest 4 spg's and to make it better in the x box insteed of upgrading you gun for 29 k research point you have to but a set of stuff for more torcher with the stock gun and shit wich is 50 k for the 2 nd pachage wich is just tracks i already recherd the engion but it doesn't work like that in x box

I have to correct jingles Richard bong was the highest scoring American pilot of all time not just ww11 and fun fact he was actually pulled from combat before the war ended because the Air Force thought if he died it would be to big of a hit to morale and his p 80 crashed a couple of days before the first bomb was dropped

The first US jet fighter to exceed 500 mph, an experiemental P-47M actually went 505 mph in level flight. Yes, the first US jets used the bulky and un-aerodynamic Whittle centifugal jet but by the time the F-86 was introduced the co-axial turbo jet engine that was used in the German jets was used as it was lighter, more aerodynamic, gave better speeds at altitude and was more fuel effiecent.

Speaking of two engines and one propeller, there was a German bomber in WW2 that had two propellers.....and four engines. Pilots nicknamed it the burning coffin because of how often the double engines would burst into flames spreading all across the aircraft and killing the crew.(Sorry I forgot its name).

Say what you will about Bell aircraft, even though the Airacomet was a bit of a dog, they did learn quite a bit about aircraft design from the P-39 onward. And, it made all the difference by the time they rolled out the X-1. Center of gravity is different on most jet aircraft, compared to ww2 era prop-driven designs.

And oh, speaking of wild center of gravity, the Japanese J7W Shinden had an American counterpart, the Curtiss-Wright XP-55. Major difference between them, the American design didn't flight-test well and so never entered production, whereas the Shinden's designers were desperate for any technological edge they could get, and held out hope for a suitable jet powerplant for it. The XP 55 also has the distinction of being the first Curtiss aircraft to use tricycle landing gear.

Two P-80s were assigned to a squadron in Europe prior to Germany's surrender. No combat missions were flown, but trials were carried out.

When the J7W1 and the Ki-200 crashed, I don't think they ripped their wings, both the J7 and the Ki-200 can exceed 900 km/h in a dive, and I've pulled hard from 900+ Km/h dives in the J7 and I've never ripped my wings, even pulling 12 G's at some points, but I'm not saying its very good at pulling out of those dives quickly before it hits the ground... I don't own a Ki-200, but from what I've heard you really have to push that thing in order to rip it's wings off, it was more likely that the Ki-200 went back to the base to rearm and when he touched down and stopped, both of his wings sheared off the second they touched the ground and he could not repair. Also, sorry if I sound like "That guy" right now, I just wanted to say that. :P

I did some testing and my bf109 f4 can reach 500mph. So the f4 as a fighting chance a p80 if the f4 gets in a game with the p80 which is not likely.

It can exceed 500mph, yes. Doesn't mean it will fly at 500mph at all times.

RusherOP there's a bunch of planes that can reach 500mph but barely any prop that can sustain that in level flight even after a dive. The P-80 on correct altitude can do sustain that speed in level flight. So no, the F4 would be at a severe disadvantage

I was in that game (I was FakeMessiah94). When I saw the guy was on his own against almost all their team, I was in chat basically saying "You're screwed, just give up and try to take 1 down with you", then he managed to make most of them rip there wings and it became this moment of "Christ, he might actually win this!" haha sadly it was not to be however, still though, fairplay on his part.

It's a server bug that I've seen. A few days ago I was in a game in my F86F-25 Sabre, and there was an F-2 Sabre on my team (9.0 BR) and an F7F (5.3 BR prop plane). We were fighting German MiG-15bis's and FW-190D-9s.

The Mighty Jingles 13:25 "It's not generating as much G-force in a turn because it's not going as quickly" Not technically correct. G-force in a turn is dependent solely on bank angle. G = 1 / cos(Angle of Bank) ie 60degree AoB will give you 2g. (1 / cos60 = 2) Although to get the same radius of turn, you will need a much higher Bank Angle in a faster aircraft, so it is true in that sense. Sorry to keep correcting you, but I'm a pilot and I can't stand seeing people sprouting incorrect information. Even if it's only slightly incorrect.

WHAT!? If you are making a turn with the same radius but going faster than you will experience higher centripetal acceleration, because centripetal acceleration is responsible for G-forces, and the formula is m*v^2/r. Where m is mass, v is velocity, and r is radius. So if you increase the velocity, you increase the G-force.

CockatooDude I know that. You'll note, I said at the end that faster aircraft will need a higher AoB to maintain the same radius. And therefore, will be more G, as G is proportional to AoB. But simply saying a faster aircraft will have more G in a turn is not necessarily correct.
