Arthas says "I'm here to help!" a reference to "The scariest words in the English language are 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help,'" due to Arthas eradicating the people he was 'trying to help.'

I was always thinking the "I have been chosen by the big metal hand in the sky" line was talking about the player's cursor, since the human one is a metal glove.

''Let your eyes be closed'' can also be heard in WoW while you stand in the throne room. I always wondered where that line comes from.

Lmao that Ezekiel Bible quote was made up for the movie, it's not actually in the Bible. Paladin is referencing Pulp Fiction directly, not the Bible.

Just so you know, the footman in warcraft 3 , found within the warcraft lore itself, are less powerful and less armored ignobles recruited from the local populace because the footmen from warcraft 2 's numbers were ravaged so greatly that they had to recruit from banditry and pesantry.

The reason I assume they changed the Footman's voice was to match the weaker status compared to the Grunt. If you look at the Captain unit it sounds more regal like the original Footman's, and also is more comparable stat-wise to the Grunt like in War2.

In the french dub of the end campaign clip, Arthas says "succeding you"... And then, as he does the stabby stabby, FROSTMOURNE wispers "let your eyes close..." That is just the right amount of creepy to engage the undead campaign ;7

The Sylvanas quote "I can hit a bird in the eye... flying" comes from great movie "The Unforgiven" (1992), starring Clint Eastwood. It's very hard to google that quote, but it's actually mentioned twice in this movie.

Arthas still says "there's no need to bow" in russian version. Which is one of the best voice acting in games. They missed 99% of references like from this video, but instead they made their own. For example, orc shaman's quote: "Do orcs dream of electropigs?"

I think Blizzard removed references to Warhammer after TFT (and all subsequent patches to both RoC and TFT) due to copyright issues. This is why they changed Gyro copters, Steam Tanks etc

"We're currently hovering at a comfortable altitude of 15 feet." Odd. I always imagined the flying units of the WarCraft games to be flying higher than that. But maybe not. Considering archers and axethrowers can hit flying units, maybe they _aren't_ flying all that high above the ground. Would an archer be able to hit something 15 feet in the air? Yes. Hundreds of feet? No.

You forgot another reference with the Priest's quote "I have been chosen by the big metal hand in the sky!" which is a self-reference to the player's cursor, which is a big metal hand that might look like it's in the sky "choosing" that unit.

In a Polish version of the game, Arthas and Illidan were voiced by the same person. You'd think that would make one cutscene in particular awkward, but in fact he's so talented that while playing I had absolutely no idea this is the same voice actor. On a side note, I have absolutely no idea why the fenomenal Polish dub of the game, by some considered better than the original, was replaced by a worse dub in the reforged version of the game.

About the Alliance: SoftClub tried to give dwarves a caucasian accent (well you know - mountain people like the scots) but only gryphon rider has this accent. Dwarf was translated like "Гном"/"Gnome" because from the time of translation of Tolkien we have problem with dwarves and gnomes. "Dragohawk" is just "Hawk". And he also say "Glory to the hight elves" not "the blood elves". But Speall Breaker became cooler because he was translated like "Witcher" (yes after 2015 it is really funny). And some quotes of course: "My sword - plus one dead orc." (Footman) "Not gonna give in my life my gun or my wife. *Laugh*" (Rifleman) "Good, bad... The main thing is who has a gun." (Rifleman) "Who comes with a sword to us, those easier to shoot." (Rifleman) - reference to Alexander Nevskiy "He laughs best who shoots first." The narration voice in Warcraft 2 is one of my favorite deliveries of any voice lines in any game. I know it's probably bias because of the game's importance in my childhood, but I get a little geeked every time I hear it.

In russian version Arthas says "there is no need to bow" in both what and pissed quotes and "for my father (the king)" two times in attack which is same as spanish. Maiev in russian says "Illidan is out there somewhere" as yes quote but it's only in russian version. By the way I hate that a lot of quotes in spanish are replaced with the same ones. For example all 3 attack quotes for priest is "fire!".

Everyone keeps bringing up Toy Story for the "I Have been Chosen, by the big metal hand in the sky!", but I think it also is a poke at the different cursors for the different factions of Warcraft 3, in particular how the Alliance one is a Gauntlet. You also left out the Blood Elf Engineer ("'It'll be up in no time!' Is an official slogan of the blood elf engineer's union, and in no way should be interpreted as the reasonable amount of time required to complete a task") and the Footman Captain ("I should have been a farmer, like my father wanted..." "...Lousy pay, constant danger..." "...Well, at least I get to hobnob with Royalty.")

In Polish, one of Paladin's quotes (the one about a sword, horse and a helmet) seems to have been spiced up. Rough translation: _"That's a sword? What a luxury!"_ _"That's a horse?! Ever heard of walking/legs?"_ (it's a hard to translate idiom that involves the word "łaska", which can mean stuff like boon, mercy, favor or grace [as in, God's grace], which is very fitting for a Paladin) _"That's a helmet? Vanity fair!"_ (possibly a reference to "Vanity Fair: A Novel without a Hero") In addition, quite curiously, Paladin's _"It's hammer time!"_ was translated less literally than in the other instances (where it was very literal and very awesome). They changed it to... another hard to translate phrase. :/ I'd say it'd be the closest to _"Let's get [those] hammers movin'!"_ Still pretty cool. :) In Reforged, they changed two of Muradin's _"Celebrity Jeopardy"_ references to other game shows, like _"could I get a safety net?"_ ("Who Wants to be a Millionaire?") or _"One note, please."_ ("Name That Tune"). They kept the "I'll play your game, you rogue" and "Come on, you nancy boy!" lines because they still make sense out of context. The original, more literal translations were still funny, simply because of how _random_ they felt. I mean, "I'll take The Rapist for 500"? :D There's probably more differences, but those are the most notable ones I remembered off the top of my head.

Another testament that W3 is truly an awesome game with so many details packed in. Hope all these get ported over to Reforged too if they are gonna redo the lines.
