I really love the class reworks in general so far, but psykers feel insanely powerful now. The fact ascendant blaze is tied to peril instead of warp charges now is a massive game changer. Also, psychic knives go brrr. lol
Like this format. Instead of listening what build I should be playing instead the one I like, I got some useful information how to play my build better. Hope to see this kind of video on other classes.
Excellence overview and breakout of the Psyker Tree and Abilities. I'm a new player and this really help to know what to pick and how to proceed. The evaluation of someone who mains Psyker is invaluable. Thanks!
interesting thing about assail knives i found out, they prioritize enemies you're currently looking at within a range of itself. if you throw a shard out and move your aim to a different enemy it'll usually seek that enemy instead. also they seem to be able to hit several targets depending on a timer that starts after the first hit and the mass value of what was hit. so sometimes you just gotta be a little patient and a shard will come stab a pesky bomber in the face if you look at him hard enough.
Yeah I noticed this too! Love the assail knives honestly, they're so great :D. I love to throw them with a charge up though, it seems to make the seeking shots way better and it's just so useful at 40m+
I have been rocking what I call "the Smiting Soulblazer" with Purgatus Staff and the Deimos staff. Basically full left tree bc that's where Soulblaze perks are but also Smite. You sacrifice any ability to deal with Snipers so make sure you have a friend that can counter snipe, but it'll be worth it to be able to stagger and melt entire hordes by yourself, outputting enough horde clear that the Zealot gets jealous. I'm typically a person who plays at Hazard 4 (i think it's called Uprising but I'm not sure) but with this build I think I might hop into Damnation for the first time. Side note, it's my experience that you CAN'T overload yourself to Bursting with Smite. The ability just stops itself. So consider taking it and using it to get yourself to high Peril safely for builds that rely on high peril to truly shine. Plus, the crowd control won't hurt anybody.
Yes, you cannot overload yourself with smite. Difficulty 4 is called Heresy :). And I wish you well on your build! I hope it brings you the results you desire. If you're interested in a Purgatus Build for Auric level combat that is fully rounded and sacrifices nothing, I'll be dropping a video tonight to showcase how it works. It is the optimal build for the hardest content in the game, but of course, I always encourage viewers to run whatever they are comfortable with! You can also attend my streams if you are interested in seeing build testing done live! Thanks for watching my content btw!
In my experience you can overload yourself with smite if you charge and left click (or possibly just left click) at critical peril (97 peril or above). The ability has a built in safely shell when you hit 100 but if you do something like use your force sword to block or charge to critical peril and then try to use smite you can blow yourself up.
Thank you!! 😌🙏 Excellent breakdown of the Psyker tree. Cleared up a lot of the questions I had. I was getting so confused lol. Plus, seeing examples of all of the abilities really helped, too!
No problem! I'm here to help the community! Hope to see you at some of the streams too 😁👍. Thanks for giving my content a chance. If there's one thing I'll do better than anyone else, it's to work my ass off!
I'd probably suggest players that want to use Scryer's Gaze, to go brain burster, for the 10% chance on a 15 second cd to auto-cast brain buster with no peril cost. 2 month later necro, but I stumbled on to this video and so may others.
Your breakdown and explanation helped so much with the pyskers new overwhelming freedom in their talent tree, will you be doing this with the other classes eventually?
Absolutely! I will be moving onto the Veteran Sharpshooter as soon as the Psyker is done. The only class I don't cover is the Ogryn (it does not suit me at all and other content creators cover this already). My plan is to first finish all the Psyker Builds (as it is my main class) and then I will do a breakdown for other classes hopefully getting around to the Veteran by next week. In fact if you ever feel lost on builds, I make optimized builds for Auric Level gameplay (which means you can use them on anything below Auric level to turn on EZ mode). My goal is to be the number 1 Darktide creator for the PEOPLE. So as long as the people desire information and help, I will be here! If you also want to see Psyker gameplay live to get an idea of how we use certain things in the field at the highest levels, just tune in to my streams Monday to Friday at 9:45 pm (Singapore/Perth Time) See you there friend!
An important thing to know about gaze is that you can still quell while in it. Eventually the peril tickup with be more than you can quell. This makes it great if you wanted to play around the force sword, since that way you've got a quick and reliable method of quelling while still being in the fight.
Hello! im new to darktide since it just released on gamepass. im trying to complete the blessed by fate penance, which requires me to survive peril warp 50 times, BUT i do not know how to do it. please help!😢
I'm stuck doing one of my penances "Power Up" because it requires brain burst elite kills at max warp charges but i don't seem to get warp charges anymore, am I just being stupid?
Left side of the tree, the keystone is warp siphon. This gives you warp charges. It is covered in the video :) So please watch the video thoroughly and review all info. I have left timestamps for everything too!
Hmm your not using smite right.. if you hold left trigger & then use right it targets their heads, which is lethal! I’m only level 10 and can kill hordes with it!
Just tested this on stream. It is not possible. If you are experiencing this/can prove that you can hit heads with Smite, please produce a video as it is a bug that would need to be patched. You are not supposed to hit heads with Smite in any circumstance.
@@RealAsianRobot I can stream to you how your use of it was different, you can focus the attention of the smite I mean it’s a chained AOE ATTACK but it definitely is targeting a lethal response, wether it’s in the way it’s grabbing their body’s or their heads specifically, I’m unsure. However, I do noticed that when they explode, it seems to be almost headfirst & down. As of you exploded them using the ability mentioned before hand. It definitely has a Stone a fact, but when you reach around the 80|90% range it becomes lethal. However, I don’t use it the way that you do in the video where it’s just a straight arm attack. I feel like that’s a Stun move as explained. There’s more to the attack. Wether it’s grabbing heads or body’s or both. I can stream this, Twitch @surionthecure or I also post raw footage on RU-vid @surionthebrave
Post the footage on RU-vid, just do it in the Meat Grinder. If the damage is orange, it is a weakspot (head hit). If it is white, it is not. This is how you test it. If you can showcase a headshot with it, I can report it to Fatshark :) Thanks! @@BetweenTheLinec4
You can still quell peril while scrier's gaze is active, so I wonder if you can keep it active forever, especially with the talent that lets you move at full speed while quelling.
The damage and HP bars are only available in the Psykanium meat grinder. People who have them in matches are using mods haha. I don't use mods because my console peeps don't have them. So I play the standard game so that others don't feel lost when watching my content
You mentioned that you felt Brain Rupture was not useful for a Scrier's Gaze gun Psyker. I actually think it's the best option of the 3 blitz's, Smite only gives some CC and you likely have no use for Assail as a gun Psyker but, you know what you can use, the Kinetic Flayer passive of Brain Rupture to get the occasional free extra damage. It's a 10% from every attack, as a gun Psyker that could be quite a lot of attacks to trigger it. Sure it has a 15 sec cooldown but, as mentioned before, what other blitz is really all that useful to a gun build.
Assail is very useful at Auric level, it is your best source of horde clear or else EVERYONE will be out of ammo. Wait for my Gun Psyker build and you will see why it's a necessity. That said, you can use Brain Rupture if you play anything Damnation and below (if you'd like), but for Auric Damnation and Auric Maelstrom, not having Assail will heavily gimp your team due to the Sheer Number of enemies they throw at you. You can also check out my streams where I tested and worked on the Gun Psyker to see the reality of Auric combat lol. Teams get so overwhelmed fast.
My issue with gaze is that warp charges seem to be bugged and don’t currently reduce the cooldown of the ability. The keystone offers a lot of stuff you would want while in gaze. Peril management, CDR and extra damage. Ideally, you would want to hit a CDR of 67% so you could use gaze again immediately after the 10 second buffs wear off. In theory you could achieve this with 6 warp charges, 3 4% CDR curios and the 10% CDR aura. But as it stands now warp charges aren’t worth using because they don’t offer any CDR.
It is squishier, but I'm making the new builds for Auric Damnation (proven on stream). So make sure to turn up for all the shows! Purgatus Build coming TODAY!
Big fan of new psyker just wished we could change the rocks we throw to orbs or something. And the melee ability thing is cool but I wished it felt cooler
I booted this back up after 4mo off and for sure played out some palpatine fantasies with infinite zap. They will patch it but speaking as a person whose hand started to cramp and had to dodge strafe and back dodge to move at anything approaching a useful speed while channeling my palpatine hand it didn't feel super broken. (I know it is lol) Also tried out assail for the first time and got a group of all psykers, all with assail lol. I ended up switching the empowered psionics off of elite kill trigger to the 12.5% because I was not fast enough to steal all the elite kills lol. My ogryn feels like a space marine dreadnaught now he's such an unstoppable thiccboi but had poor synergy with the turtle-y domekeeper simulator psyker group I played with who did not want to run into melee distance at all. Great video as usual! You and claysthetics keeping my rejects viable.
It's nice, but bugged lol. Once they fix it, it will generate peril as per normal I believe. That said, I like how it is now haha, it feels fun, but I also know it can be unfair
I need more specifics on disrupt destiny ... If ur buddy kills the marked enemy do u still get the benefits of disrupt destiny ?? Cuz if not then that keystone is low tier... The marked enemy is random right ? So yea if its a random and ur buddy kills the enemy then it seems like a wasted keystone
Thanks for the video really helped me understand lad ! Only if you told us which ones are better than others would’ve been the cherry on top but thanks
The build vids exist for that. The skill tree review is just to give an idea of how all the abilities work so you can play around for yourself. Build vids are optimized recommendations that have been rigorously tested and the details are then explained to users. Lastly, livestreams are for viewers to learn the expert gameplay live. 😁👍 hope this info helps
Yes, warp damage refers to the following: - any powers that are warp related (I.e. Assail, Brain Rupture, Smite) - any attack that comes from a staff (your primary and secondary fire). Take note that swinging the staff is a melee attack (non-warp). - Any special attack from a Force Sword (The attack where you charge the sword with warp energy and then strike, is a warp attack). In short warp attacks and warp damage is anything related to your psychic powers. So increasing warp damage buffs basically everything a Psyker does other than melee swings or shots with an actual gun. If you ever need more knowledge my Darktide streams are the best place to go to learn 😁. We are always sharing knowledge and teaching through the actual gameplay EDIT: We just tested and MELEE SWINGS from the FORCE SWORD EXCLUSIVELY, count as Warp Attacks now, so yeah, if you have a Force Sword, any swing is a warp attack, not just the charged attack.
You cant take any tallent u want. Example: if you use assail, you cant unlock Psykinetic aura (you cant go UP in psyker tree, another example: if u take one with the warp, u cant go for emphatic evasion). Its very annoying... (its probably a bug). Also... i want my warp charges back cause i miss significant break points without it. Want to run 6 charges always but the warp syphon tallent removes them. So what im gona do with it? Dont use shield or shriek for the whole mission? Thats rly bad...
I explained that you cannot move up in the tree in the video, but yes, a bit more freedom would be nice. That said, I have no concerns on the breakpoints. If you're tied to the old BB style you will probably miss breakpoints but the current Psyker style ignores brain burst pretty much. It's too slow to compete in the current game. I tried it on stream and it fell super flat
@@RealAsianRobot I feel like it'd still have a place to deal with snipers or crushers/bulwarks, if the rest of your kit can't handle them. If you're going purgatus you probably don't need smite because you're burning everything close to you anyway, so you can use BB as your long range special killer, for instance.
What is “combat ability”? Is it your blitz? If so why in some talents does it say blitz in some things and combat ability in others if they’re the same?
Blitz is your grenade/ability - Example: Brain Rupture - It has a green background. Blitz abilities usually have an ammo count instead of a cooldown. Combat Ability is your character class ability - Example: Venting Shriek - It has a red background. Combat Abilities usually have a cooldown timer instead of an ammo count.
Same game but now we have actual talents to customize ourselves. But same game in general, just feels damn good now. If you need help deciding, definitely tune into a livestream and see the combat for a bit.
Empowered Psionics says on the description that it reduces peril by 100%. So are you saying the bug is the duration of that keystone being infinite if you don't get smacked by a enemy?
Tonight's build will explain. The brain burst Psyker can get them. I know you want them for the penance. Make sure you have notifications ON for ALL my content if you don't want to miss it
Those are your buff icons. The left most one is coherency it shows you how many members of your team are near you. More coherency leads to faster Toughness regeneration. And Aura effects and other skill effects only apply to allies in coherency. The rest of the icons are buffs from your talents, and blessings
I will try to cover Ogryn but I really can't promise anything, because it's a class I truly DO NOT enjoy playing at all. I believe there are other creators working on the Ogryn class (or at least there seem to be). If I ever do, cover it, I will let you know. At the very least I might do their skill tree, but again, I cannot promise anything and I sincerely apologize for this.
It's a joke mate lol. Smite is the name of a game. And of course it's similar to Vermintide, but everyone knows that. Fatshark is literally the same studio 🤣🤣. However we are also bringing people in that DON'T play vermintide. Hence why I use outside references. WH40k is much more popular than WHfantasy
Also at 36:00 .... you jumped to conclusions there... just change out of the talent tree and back in ... NO Node on the tree takes TWO points to grab ...
What are you referring to? I'm confused on your comment about what Psyker Smite needs. Are you talking about the bug? That said, take note. Surge is single target. You can refer to it in my Surge Psyker build. The staff changes have made it a single target high dps staff but it's CC is very limited. Smite is now the main CC for Psykers but at Auric level it will generally fall short for most teams (unless you play with only top tier players). Even with the bug it's generally considered a weak choice for Auric level (unless you have a coordinated team that understands it)
@@RealAsianRobot Except I've been doing Aurics with Surge and it's not single target in any way shape or form? And I'm not even sure how to address this, given how inaccurate the statement is. Also, "considered a weak choice for Auric". I... what? Endless Smite is anything but weak. Granted, Auric Damnation isn't anything near the BS of Cataclysm in Vermintide, but I think this highlights how completely different of an impasse we're at. If you're defending Brain Burst, of all things. The Surge staff does, indeed, chain to multiple enemies and is incredible at dealing with multitudes of high value enemies beyond the range of Smite. The fact it retains high damage, range, and mobility, it is without a doubt the SUPERIOR choice in nearly all circumstances. The ONLY reason you'd pick up Smite (ignoring endless) would be if you're going to make the incredibly poor decision of choosing a non Surge staff. It has made, single handedly, every difficulty absolutely ridiculously easy.
@JJokerMoreau ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O1QMfc6KjCs.htmlsi=F4edXvL11V3udA48 So have I, fun fact: I wrote the build for it. I also demonstrated the Surge Staff changes at the start of the video and you can refer to patch notes themselves. Surge is changed to be more of a single target high dps, the second hit does far less damage and this can be seen in the meat grinder. PATCH NOTES REFERENCE: forums.fatsharkgames.com/t/patch-13-class-overhaul-part-1/83184 **Please Scroll to the bit about the Nomanus Mk VI Surge Staff** Maximum targets are 2, but since the damage is NOT equal and 2 targets is FAR from an AoE as opposed to Trauma Staff (Area), Void (Area with penetration) and Purg (Area flame). It is a single target damage dealer with a fractional secondary target hit. So before you classify anything as inaccurate, please take note that we test everything before posting 😁✌️. Inaccuracy is the one thing I stand against the most. EDIT: I think you are confused on your own train of thoughts btw. Please review your comments before responding
@@RealAsianRobot I'm not going to watch your video. Instead, please load up meatgrinder and literally use your staff. It can and will hit three targets. Given you can literally chain spam it with traits that give you faster charge and combo it with Warp Siphon's low peril production + Vent, you can control an entire army of enemies coming your way with absolute ease. Edit: I also forgot Smite can't crit, whereas the Surge staff can. Genuinely, Smite is the worse version of the Surge staff with better horde control... but then, there's Assail.
@@JJokerMoreau It's at the start of the vid and it shows 2. if you don't want to watch, that's on you, I've submitted the evidence. Good day to you, please find another channel to spread misinformation on Any further comments and I will happily ban you for life
Hey console player here, how does one get a warp charge? I’ve been looking over some of the Psyker penances and the “Power Up” penance says I need to kill 100 elite/specialists while at maximum warp charges. Yet I don’t think the game explain how to get them, now I understand they haven’t updated the text for the overhaul yet but I just wanna know if anyone has found a way to do this penance yet.
Anything that uses peril. For now this is: - Any of your Blitz abilities - Any force staff - The special of the Force Sword That's it for the main stuff 🤣🤣. Unless I forgot something (but if I did it's probably a less common choice)
You can pair it with the empowered keystone to make assail free and then use the passive that has a chance to quell peril on kill if you want to use them together. This helps with peril management. Also remember to pick up the 30% faster quell, movement in quell passives so you can extend gaze by quelling when you’re waiting to get your knives back.
@@RealAsianRobot All of my settings reset on the patch, video, audio, everything. If you had your volume turned down, it might have reset back to 100%.
@kedolan4992 no I have it turned down, but I may need to adjust the overall settings until it's comfortable for everyone 😁👍. I'll adjust it before the next time I play
Is it just me or are some people getting to dependent on those shards? I swear last 5 psykers i ran into forgot they had a staff or melee weapon, one was just throwing the damn things at a crusher...they had a surge staff
I think a lot of new players are just enamored with how awesome they are, but YES you must not forget you have a staff. However, a lot of builds are centered around the shards and how well they do, so some Psykers go too ham on them. I want them to reduce the shard cooldown because it's too fast right now, but we shall see how it evolves honestly :)
@benwisdom1582 Thing is, your knives will run out lol. So you have to use your "stick" at some point. (For Auric Level play anyway). But as for the nerfing, it would depend on how out of line it is with the current level of gameplay. I believe the knives will get a nerf to their cooldown talent to bring them in line with everything else. Especially since they are practically insta cast while Brain Rupter is useless AF lol
@RealAsianRobot that's fair. Also I didn't realize there was a stick with the flames tbh till I got further into the video, the games descriptions are kinda vague, I'll play with one of those.
@benwisdom1582 if you're looking for builds at least you're in the best place for them ;). In fact, your flame stick and dagger build for Auric Level play (which means EZ mode everything else) drops tonight. I'll be making the optimal builds for all classes (except Ogryn), and I test them live on stream at Auric level. So if you're ever interested to see the process, swing by any of my streams. We welcome everyone 😁✌️. Also welcome to darktide and thanks for checking out my content, it's nice to meet new folks from the community
