I remember in my early days as a Commmisar, We were bringing a world to compliance, filthy traitors were constructing an AI. Anyway, in the trenches me and my men were holding out against enemy bombardment and a lone sister arrived. The heretic had damaged her church with a mortar during the fighting and she came to our lines to fight I suppose. She was a young slip of a thing, her ornate armor glistened in the evening sun. The weapon she held was bigger than her. She was only a child. So she glances at my men and then the enemy line and she charges. I was awe struck, her ferocity her hatred of the enemy, by the Emperor it was glorious. She was hit in her approach, she crumbled to the floorin agony. At first I thought oh well, just another body on the field. Then one of my men Glavian, I think his name was, he takes of his belt. I instantly wanted to shoot him, but he picks up his rifle and charges out of the trench. "I'd do it for you Sir" he kept yelling. He gets to her amid the enemy fire,, my men are shooting covering him on his approach back. At first, I think maybe I'll let it slide, ya know.His stupidity caused my men to fight harder and I save a bullet. So he brings her to the trench, shes hurt bad, real bad. And she looks at this brave guardsman ... and stabs him in the face. Them bitches crazy ...

I think my favorite part about the Sororitas is they're the only female fantasy warriors that have boob plates... AND if you think about it the lore supports it logically. I mean, besides the whole "Curved armor turns a blow more easily." The Ecclesiarchy have standing orders to never have men under arms. To which they replied: "K." and the Bolter Bitches we're born! But, when someone is covered head to toe in power armor it can be kind of hard to distinguish whether they're male or female. Therefore, to avoid any confusion, it makes total sense to make Sororitas power armor more feminine that Astartes power armor.

I have to say I love when you do videos about a specific technology and the effect it has on the larger Army and the society the Army is in. The Lasgun episode was glorious, and the drop pod one was awesome too.

the idea of the sisters repentia is actually kinda brilliant take some sister of battle who disgraced herself in some manner put her through hell then tell her the emperor still loves you and is willing to forgive you but first take this giant chainsaw on a stick and carve away at anything vaguely heretical in a general that way direction until further notice.

Sorrow-Ritas? Are they an army of eternally depressed clones? so-RO-ri-tas. Basically, say sorority (the odd women-only organisations in American universities) only with -as at the end instead of -y. Pedantry ftw.

Hmm... he forgot a few things. Adepta Sororitas Power Armor has one advantage that Space Marine Power Armor doesn't have. Their helmets are built in with advanced targeting machine spirits. Interestingly enough this is counter to Space Marine Power Armor which instead has enhanced sensory inputs, showing the difference between the two with the Astartes being focused on melee combat where the Sororitas prefer to stand off more having no real dedicated melee units outside the Repentia and even their "close range" units like Seraphim are still Ranged Combat based. As well the Sisters Hospitallier don't use heavier Power Armor, they use Carapace Armor with special medicae tools and protections inside it making them far more resistant to Biological and Chemical attacks than other soldiers. By the way, there are sources for this, both in the Witchhunter's Codex, and more recently Blood of the Martyrs and Enemy Within for everything I say, no ass pulling here. He forgot the Sarissa is actually a Chain Weapon (At least in lore if not Tabletop). So it's a Chain Bayonet rather than just a knife. Basically: That thing from Gears of War, though the Sarissa came first. An Inferno Pistol is actually a Melta weapon, not a Flame weapon. Hand Flamer is the pistol Flamer. An Inferno Pistol is usually used by a Cannoness or high ranking Celestine where the Seraphim prefer Bolt Pistols or Hand Flamers. I wonder where he got the bit about Sisters Repentia Tours before a sister is issued Wargear? I've never heard it myself. Repentia is a one way thing. It's the Dwarven Slayer Oath in 40k, when you take your Repentia Oaths you have sworn your life away. You give up your gear. Strap an Eviscerator to yourself, and find absolution in battle. Repentia by the way are why "Chaos Corrupted Sisters" are a stupid thing, because if any sister gets any inkling of Corruption, they take the Repentia Oaths and die shortly thereafter, long before Chaos finishes sinking its hooks in them. I wonder where the "Sisters of Battle are Strategically Incompetent" came from? Honestly I've never read it in lore myself. They've been pretty steadfast in lore from what I've seen as ultimately the Imperial Creed is a faith of Duty and Sacrifice after all, so that they follow that. Making them very disciplined troops, and since their general combat role and deployment day to day is defensive duties they don't go running off at the slightest provocation (That I've ever seen in lore), with the exceptions of Repentia because as 40k's Dwarven Slayers, well, they're looking to die anyway and that's what the Mistress Repentia are there for, to keep them in check and focused. Though he is right about the "Guard Dog" bit. Sisters are most often deployed, by far, to defend Pilgrims and Holy Sites of the Ecclesiarchy. Ultimately the Battle Sisters are a defensive formation who protect the relics and worshipers of the Imperium of Man. Taking up the majority of their duties, where Militant Arm of the Ordo Heretius, while they do a lot of it, doesn't compare and fill out their day planners really. And frontline service in Wars of Faith are something that honestly in lore they don't do very much at all. They should, it'd be cool, but I honestly can't remember ever hearing much of it beyond the whole Fall of Cadia book recently. Anyway... I do love the Ecclesiarchy and Adepta Sororitas in general. Probably the only area of lore in 40k where I'd be equal to (Or even surpass) Arch lorewise since it's right in my wheelhouse and I get the sensation he hasn't read much about them and it's not really his thing. Which I don't judge him for, not all armies are for everyone and such after all. So don't take it as insulting him but merely clarifying bits that stuck out to me as a specialist.

Not to nitpick but the Sisters of Battle are the military arm of the Adepta Sororitas, not vice-versa.

There's a special place in my heart for the Sisters of Battle. They truely are the most devoted followers of the God-Emperor.

Great video as always Arch. But there is something I need to point out: Space Marines are not at all bulky and are much more maneuverable than the Sisters of Battle. The complete integration of the Black Carapace allows the Space Marine power armor to move as fast as their user, which to remind you are superhuman monsters who has proven to be bullet dodgers. Space Marines in the fluff are also mentioned to cause fear in their opponents just because of how fast they are compare to their size.

... Hold on a second. I need to look this up... ... Wow. Arch was not kidding. 400 images of Adepta Sororitas artwork and not one ass-shot in anything that even _remotely_ resembles official artwork. In fact, disregarding the totally reasonable boob plates, the supposed sexualization that a lot of SJWs would harp on about is practically non-existent to the point where, were it not for the boob plates, smaller armor and lack of helmets hiding their clearly feminine features, I sincerely doubt you would be able to tell the difference between an Adepta Sororitas and an Adeptus Astartes.

The Evisirator (I know I misspelled that) also incorporates a weak Power Field, it’s it’s also slightly more...slicey and dicey.

My only experience with Sororitas was when they were introduced in Soulstorm, where they were essentially squishier Marines. It was quite a disappointment since everyone wanted the Tyranids. Although the Exorcist was truly hilarious mix of organ and artillery.

4:50 that's not correct. In the dark heresy role playing game we learned of gauntlets that brace the arm so regular humans can use high recoil weapons. Even Godwin pattern weapons still require the arm to be in someway braced. Also fun fact theoretically we could make a bolter today.

I have begun to like the Sisters of Battle a lot more than the Adeptus Astartes. They just have that vibe of grimdark and feels like a pretty good hybridization of the eccleriarchy, the adeptus astartes, and even the bit of the inquisition in terms of lethality, batshit insanity, paranoia, and bloodlust.

Great stories... i learned of the sisterhood in The Last Chancers. and if Cage was right, he saw the sisters covered in powered armor.... singing their himns to the emperor while fighting. of course i thought of this as an exo squeleton... i have being corrected.

Strangly the Gyrojet technology that bolters where based on have little to no recoil so theres no reasion that a strong but unarmered humaan could fire a full size marine bolter.

I can see a Sororitas maintaining centuries old underware just because it already proved it's worth
