God after hearing how terrifying a Chaos weapon made by a drunken, inbred Norscan can be I dread how powerful a Chaos weapon made by the Chaos Dwarfs are.

I love how the village was quite fine with being lead by a weapon, and the weapon probably didn't even have to bother with the veil of being human in the first place.

Time to make some Chaos weapons, and tempt a 5e party with them. Hey look at these stats! They can do some real dam good damage! just ignore the fact that it cannot leave your hand unless you kill something, and for as long as it is out, you are unable to talk, eat, and sleep. Just got to go and kill somebody! Also, congratulations, It will slowly mutate your body, in both positive (which You will get more of at the start cause I am the god of this story), and negative ways! Why not wield this weapon which fits your style of a prefect weapon!

Sentient chaos sword for president 2020!

I just imagine these hell-ravaged smiths, some old, old man who should be too old for his craft, his hair and beard a dirty silvery gray, his torso bulging with sinewy muscle, uncaring of the blasting cold winds, his skin like old, scaled leather, scarred and burnt, and his hands from the forearms down are covered in a layer of blackened, shimmering steel, melted over his skin, nay, bonded into it to become his skin, across the metal are ever shifting, slithering runes that sometimes faintly glow, some green, some red, others purple, a few blue, and on his palms is the sing of chaos emblazoned, like an open maw that ever hungers, the star of torment which little by little, tiny drop by tiny drop bleeds out the red ichor of his veins. His eyes are too large, too wide and he never blinks, you can almost see the embers of his forge, still reflecting therein. He wields no hammer, for his hands are the hammer now, the white hot steel bends and moves with the slightest touch. And beneath his workshop, detached from the humble home where he eats and drinks himself to sleep on cold tormented nights, you can hear an ever present, faint sobbing and moans of those, destined to abandon their bodies to be conjoined unto steel forevermore.

gods damn this gives me PTSD kind of flashback to the Mount&Blade Warband Warhammer Fantasy mod my army of Chaos warriors could beat Kislev armies on the field with no effort, but Kislev would cut through my troops like it was butter when i was defending in siege battles one would almost think it should be the other way around

Ok, I have a question then. If chaos weapons are basicly made with chaos altered materials, can some skaven weaponery be considered chaos weapons? Since warpstone is used in them and it's a solid form of chaos? Like weeping blades or plague censors using warpstone on them?

For a company as litigiously petty as Games Workshop (trying to copyright concepts) they seem to have no problem with using other people's stuff. While there is enough differences to make it different, it is plainly obvious they were inspired by Morgul blades and made a rip off.

7:00 During the viking age (something that heavily inspired Norsca society), proper iron was very hard to get hold of. The Norse didn't really have mines, most of the ore was fished out of lakes and bogs (called bog iron). While this iron was much easier to get hold of, it was iron of dubious quality and made weapons that where prone of breaking and even shattering upon impact. Once the Norse vikings discovered the Franks, they became very eager to trade with them for their higher quality iron (they had proper mines, unlike most of Scandinavia).

Oh yes. I remembered there is a game called "soul sacrifice". a bitter blacksmith who is very good at creating high quality weapons less favored than blacksmiths who make beautifully ornate weapons. In massive respite, he creates a trident with massive amount of eyeballs with various size. A weapon never miss its enemy, strikes with fervor precision & lethality, at some point it has homing capability. Of course, he mutates and turn into a Cyclop with some eyeballs grow randomly on his body, because irony.

Wouldn't those blacksmith's be hunted down seeing as how one warband with a chaos weapon wouldn't others to be given to their competition.

I thought the Chaos warriors with advanced weapons and armor got it from the Chaos Dwarves in trade for slaves and other goods.

One's kiiinda got to admit: that is some supreme determination, to hate a sword so much u assemble an army, conquer its tribe just to take it, get an immortal horse and sepukku yourself on it, JUST to leep its grip away from everyone else...

So how do the weapons possessed by Daemons work? Is it specifically part of the creation process that they no longer need a constant supply of magic/warp to remain bound in the mortal world, or do they have to keep their hunger slaked in order to remain. I always wondered the same thing about possessed vehicles in 40k.

you had to give the op magic weapon and armor the vikings the chaos are based on had crap iron and had to get there swords from the carolingians also if there up against gun its gotta stop shot or you get a lot of dead raiders .

That bit about “significance” makes me wonder: what would happen if you tempered a sword in pigs blood, made with iron harvested from a forgotten mine, forged under the light of a gibbous moon, marked with runes that mean absolute gibberish, using a chisel tipped with a diamond bought at a secondhand store? Would the faulty forging process completely break the sword at first swing? Would the use of “unique” (blood, unique source of iron, moonlight, runes, diamond) materials maintain some level of power, even if closer inspection reveals the actual production details are unremarkable?

Honestly chaos weapons and armor have nothing on ork weapons and armor. If enough orks believe that painting them selves red protects them from bullets then it will. If the ork next to them dies from an axe to the brain, well he just didn't believe hard enough now did he. You gotta love orkish logic.

Wait, wait, wait. How long of a civil war? Thing is I was of the impression that Skaven had shorter lifespans than humans. In the rare cases they actually died of age I thought it was fifty or sixty. Seventy tops. Even Thanquol was a withered, old husk of a Skaven the last time he and Gotrek and Felix crossed paths in the slayer sagas. Perhaps Ikit could find a way to live far longer, but Morskittar as well? Other Skaven? That a centuries old civil war has the same Skaven leaders at both ends makes no sense.

Wouldn't it be possible to make a frame from warpstone and then have it be possessed by a Warp entity ? Like a Shaman King oversoul. Perhaps mixing the warpstone into the steel to be cast. It would be an exceptionally complex and perilous undertaking for any without the proper magical training, but eh, details.
