This week I was invited to take part in the judging portion of RAGE, the Reno Area Gaming Expo Grand Tournament. It was an honor to be able to participate and a ton of fun to be part of!
After that I got down on some panels off of my Deathguard Knight that I've been working on for the last few weeks. This thing is slow going, but oh man is it rewarding. At some point, maybe next week, we are going to have to talk about the baby diaries. We'll get there...

Something that could be cool is if there are any boils, you can try incorporating chains over them to make it appear as if they are bandages.

I think some scratches, imprints, bullet holes/craters and nurgle symbols on the pauldrons and the flat top surface would go a long way, while still keeping it relatively clean

You've got Dad eyes. I've been there. I feel you. Also, kudos for you being able to keep up on hobby during one of the more trying times of being a dad. For the people w/o kids. You don't get it and you won't till you go through it. You reach a point beyond tired where it's just life and you stay that way till your kids move out, pretty much. HAHAHA. We love our kids. They are worth the effort and lost sleep. I don't know how much I miss competitive play. I did it a long time ago and it was fun then. But the social norms have shifted so much I don't know if I'd enjoy it anymore. I would probably have more fun judging or refing. I guess it's an age thing.

I would consider adding some chipping also to the yellow areas (The same paint with sponge for example). In my opinion, it would tie everything together better. Since now, all of the white parts have some chipping but the yellows look very clean in comparison

i was wondering, why don't you activate the chipping medium after you paint the chevrons? wouldn't the chipped part look better that way?

Fantastically painted armies at the tourney. Just one question of curiosity, how come no one was wearing masks. We in the UK have gotta wear face protection if we want to attend such events

Got some cool name ideas for you: Interitus (Latin for decay), Rubigo (Latin for Rust), Rosio (Latin for corrosion) TBH most latin translations for nurgly words sound pretty cool for Knight names.

I was hoping so much more from that knight. When he said he had some nurgle parts coming from another guy and he showed us the model without the armor plates I imagined some kind of skeletal emaciated Nurgle knight with cool pestilent custom bits. Instead this looks like an Iron Warriors knight with some extra grime on it :/ The glowing eyes are very cool tho.

Name him Pandemus (Latin for Pandemic) the Baneful, gives the idea that the enemies that don't escape and become sick from his presence will be either cleaved in half by that scythe or crushed underneath his rusted feet.

Quick question? Do rust and patina not go together because patina is oxidized brass and rust is oxidized iron? Or is it a visual language thing?
