those rolled grass mats aren't flood control barriers they are erosion control barriers to prevent soil erosion from the vacant lot you were walking by from getting into the storm drain; however they need to be in a continuous line to work properly and those were broken up.

Good video Steven. I'm not shocked at all. Homelessness has been rampant for a couple decades now. Cities are just fooling themselves if they think breaking up homeless encampments solves anything. The people they run off are still homeless, and have to go somewhere. They will spread out for a short time, but will gather together again. Our country doesn't want to truly address the homeless issue. Homelessness will always be worse in warmer climates.

Super-bowl ticket sales alone came to $840,000,000. Something is seriously screwed up in our society.

Excellent video. I saw a documentary about the Vegas tunnels. So sad.The homeless and the tents are all over Toronto and also in the suburbs. At least Vegas does not have the cold Canadian winters and snow. Toronto is very unaffordable...Average house around $1, 000, 000. Rent is close to $2, 000 month.

Go over by the high roller, follow those tunnels and you'll find a whole community.

Nice relevant video!! The tunnel people under the strip is crazy. Used to watch them from the Rio go under the interstate, it’s sad most of them are nice people.

Definitely a serious homeless problem here in Vegas. Last Sunday a homeless person stole my Hummer from in front of my condo. I think it was cold outside and maybe they just needed shelter. LVPD recovered it in less than 24 by a homeless area abandoned with a small carriage cart in my truck.

These longer documentary style videos remind me of something I would see on Nat Geo TV or Vice News. Of course, they probably have a lot more resources to protect their camera crews if something goes south, as the saying goes. Thanks for doing this.

Summerlin south is west of Hualapai Way so technically you’re in Spring Valley but that’s neither here nor there. Homelessness is all over the city unfortunately.

As long as the bus goes to 90% of the city they will and can end up in your neighborhood eventually.

Last month, I was in Vegas, and I was in a shopping mall parking lot. I parked next to some mystery equipment, beside a flood control channel. When I returned to my car, it was announcing "You are trespassing, and this is a citable offense." to someone in the channel on the other side of the fence. I was a little bit freaked, and realized this might have been where people migrated when evicted from tunnels under the Strip. It's a sad situation, and a bit like playing Whack a Mole, as people move to different areas/flood channels.

I live in the San Fernando Valley near Los Angeles and we have to gate our front yards or we will end up with tents. RVs, vans and cars are parked and lived in absolutely everywhere. MANY folks park "ghost" vehicles on the street near their properties to prevent the start of a new unhoused community moving onto their street. I know of several places where there was open space (city owned small greenbelts) and the neighbors paid to fence it off to prevent a move-in. Here it is also VERY common for the homeless community to light EACHOTHER's belongings on fire - so we have hillside fires, vehicle fires and RV fires weekly. It's a sad state of affairs.

Homeless on the rise. Some due to the rent increase. Maybe the city should get a rent control for people over the age of 65.

Their is a different between homeless people that are down on their luck and crackheads that use drugs. and most of the homeless in las Vegas use drugs even if you make rent cheaper they will rather spend it on drugs.
