Great video. I have a question. I took my Jeep down to the Dealership Parts Dept. with my new Skim Module and put it on there and then the tech came out with DBR scanner but could not program the keys at all. He thought it was a bad Skim Module but this was a brand new one. So, what is the chance of a "out of box" failure? The lady Service Advisor said it might need new keys? The keys were the original ones that came with the Jeep in 2000 when I bought it Brand New. Any idea why the keys are not programming with the new Skim Module? Your help is appreciated. Thank You
Hi, you helped me fixed my issue with the gear before. This time my Jeep Cherokee 2014 is having issues to start. Most times the dashboard doesn’t not light up but once it does then it will start up right away. What could it be? It doesn’t matter whether the engine is cold or warm. It does have some transmission codes
Without the new key not programmed the car shut off within a few seconds of starting it. Would there be a chance that it could run for minutes and THEN shut off? My 06 charger shuts off going down the road about 10 after initial crank. No codes. Just wondering if my skim module is faulty??
If you have that lil red led light on your dash then your problem likely a skim problem. Is this an RT model Charger with a Hemi? Also are you subscribed to the channel?
@@eddy7655 OK the only known issue on this year was from fuel related issues. Not sure if you just filled the tank and have this problem or not. But there is a recall on the tank for stall out while driving. Im not sure if this actually your problem but its worth looking into
@@OnlineMechanicTips I wonder what about the tank is the reason for the recall?? I've been running my tank at half full for the most part just in case I had to get into the tank, and I did. I replaced the sending unit AND pump both hoping that would fix a fuel pressure issue and it didn't. I've just about replaced every sensor in the car following troubleshooting videos with no luck. The only thing I have not messed with is the Trans. The speed sensor is inside on this nag1 but I'm trying to put that off as long as possible. Took it to a mechanic, everything checks fine. He told me the car shuts down too fast to register anything on scanners. I'm thinking it's gona end up being a lose connection or faulty wire somewhere but that's the mystery. I really appreciate your feedback and responses brother.
The reason I thought maybe skim module is because it will shut off on me at about 30 mph and I can pull over, park, pull the key off, pull it out, reignite and it runs like normal again and I can get to where I'm goin. Like it resets something!
I have a 99 wj and I also have a security light on with no DTCs. The check engine light will turn on after 10 seconds when it's at the run position and still no DTCs. My question, is it possible that the key can go bad considering the age?
My 2010 Jeep Compass doesn’t start, the 2 keys that I have won’t even unlock my car I have to open it manually with the key. I try to start my car with the key and nothing, I do see a red dot on the dashboard. Could it be the same problem as your video?
@@OnlineMechanicTips I used a generic OBD-II scanner, and it didn't report any set or pending DTC. It is on 2009 Dodge Dakota. I also have OBDlink MX, but I don't think it can access any of the modules except ECU.

My ignition switch tumbler failed I put the key in the ignition all it did was freely turn nothing happened. The dealership wanted to charge me $105 per hour labor and $275 for the part for a grand total of $575 needless to say I had it towed to my local mechanic
I'm going through that same problem now, and i paid $133. for diagnostic and they wanted $300. For pcm and $348 for i guess the skim and $250 for programming i got outa there so fast, before he asked to bend my girl over lol
Man bro I really need u to help me out my car is da same just a 03 limited v8 but it sat for months and I replaced da motor and tried starting it but it cranks no start i have da same light on dash with check light da xar haven't been ran with new motor yet its been over a week since new motor done I have Key light on dash not flashing just on I have a check engine light idk why if I haven't even ran da motor I have no radio and I have aftermarket radio so dealer told me that if I had da factory stereo I can input a code and disarm anti theft but I don't have it I have crank all day long replaced battery and crank got stronger but still not start and light on dash I can hear fuel pump prime amd can smell fuel when cranking Starter is not only new but its spinning da motor I can't get da dash to produce a code even thou there is a check engine light But dash shows mileage but gauges don't work I've tried everything unplugged skim battery sat key in ignition on for hours still nothing even did door tricks and still nothing I really need my car running amd I don't have da money rn to pay da dealer to fix I only have one key man PLEASE TELL ME THERE IS A WAY FLOR ME TO GET THIS JEEP RUNNING

@@danielpeterson1548 Im not gone lie, these are the hardest problems to fix without a real good scan tool. Even if you need a module, it has to be programmed.
My 04 GC with the 4.0 has just starting doing something weird. It will start and run but i have no gauges and all the lights are on the dash like the key is just in the on position. Also my windows dont work and i can only lock and unlock my driver door. Any advice i dont have money for a new car so i need to fix this. I have a P1687 no bus communication code.

This just happened to my magnum I was getting gas everything was fine that more I turn the key off and my ignition switch pin broke so I replaced it now it want start for some reason my battery if full charged still no start no crack no sound the lights come on the dash then they cut off

there is a trick to this to starting it, mine does this wont start and sometimes windows and ac act up, when it wont start i put in neutral and try starting if doesnt start then yes you got issue and the windows not rolling down or up unhook the battery for bit, this doesnt happen often thou
Hey bro all you have to do is go to a salvage yard Get the PCM get the skim and get the keylock cylinder Find one with a key I just did mind your day it took me a while to figure it out It only cost me about $75 I didn't have to wait
A 05??? Any competent tech.. with a actual scanner..not a autozone code reader will read ... and you do not need a dealer for anything...unless you got a cheap scanner. And it won't program anything anyway....
