Im a California girl but l moved to Baltimore for 5 years, and before that Essex for a year. Maryland has the best crab cakes hands down. I miss living out there
Yes, I'm from Baltimore Maryland, and The Blue crab meat is very expensive. But Maryland have some of the best seafood. But you have to keep the restaurant clean. The health department in Maryland is strict and with healthy fines
As a native Baltimorian, it's pronounced Baldamore 🤣🤣, but Baltimore to out of towers. The cost of the crabcake is definitely Maryland because a lump crabcake used to be under $30, around $25 and a double would be $30. Parking can definitely be a restaurant killer, I've bypassed a few restaurants because I couldn't park my car, so I understand. And the inside being a hoarders paradise is an instant 'no ma'am'
I'm from Baltimore as well, people that don't know just don't understand how expensive crab meat is to make them big ass crab cakes. It's not like back in the day at Lexington Market where you could get the meat at a decent price.
I’ve been a seafood manager for 18 years now. Up north in Connecticut crab meat is 32 a can for real 🦀 meat for lump and jumbo lump is 62 a can it’s a fact for a 16oz can !!!💯
@@sophiizplace not saying that but how the market for fresh real lump crab prices are crazy all over the us so the average prices for a crab cake at a restaurant is about that
@@kingjaff9066 ...WOOOOW!!.. I' m glad you replied to me, I have a question for you. What should I look for in a good quality Lobter Tail. ( slipper)..)..I Bought a couple the other day from our local supermarket...and let's just say.....it didn't fare well. 😔.. Thank you.. (.ps what market price range should I expect for a medium sized live Lobster.)
@@sophiizplace I’m a Marylander and in my house, we typically get 2 nice size crab cakes from each pint of lump crab, 3 maybe but lol it takes from the look of having a big tasty crab cake
@@wegotthis247 I guess I've been skimping huh?😬...Wooow..only 2?... that's a lot of crab for 1 crabcake, as a serving?. Gee whiz... I have to experience a crab cake from there...do they ship them from Maryland?......What's the best company to get THAT size of crabcake?...
I'm from Baltimore and I must say that that looks like an official crab cake(no filler all meat and flavor) but 31.95$ is definitely an inflated price.
wouldn't east coast, live crabs cost less and still work. I love blue crab and from Florida whre we caught our own. Is it the Bmore crab meat or HOW they do it????????@@madchen521
$32 for a crab cake is not bad can of crab can cost $25 and they use Jumbo Lump which is the most expensive, and you're actually getting crab meat, not just bread lol
Not if you live in an area WITH blue crab, like Tampa, Bmore. Should cost less. The sellers are making it higher. Didn't used to be. Jacking up prices.
I love Lulu's crab cakes!!! You get nothing but sweet crab meat and less filling...it's the perfect crab cake...add some yellow rice, greens, candied yams, and seafood Mac?!!!!💯🔥💯🔥
I moved here from Louisiana and the food is trashhhhhh!!! I've wasted so much money.. food drinks and the seafood is so expensive..I've giving up on eating out...either it's way to salty or no seasoning at all I'm over it
Big crab cakes are a Baltimorean thing, it's pretty much 2 crab cakes in one. They're expensive because they are made with the lump meat, I used to go to Double T Diner with my mom and got the double crab cake and fries platter for at least $15+.
Yes I live down the street, been there a few times, everything he said str8 facts, the parking, the inside small asf, the food is 🔥, I know the crab cake is good, but I just couldn't see myself paying that much for the crabcake
Yeah that location is a difficult location to visit because of where it is at with all of the construction that was there so parking is very limited but I believe they had added some outdoor seating to the outside area to give an outdoor dining experience. They did recently open up 2nd location in a larger space on Central Ave though.
I love their food. I just hate the inflated prices and poor service I experienced the 3 different times I went. ( hour long wait, lost orders, ran outta food, not prepared, getting orders wrong) I hope they get it together because I wont' accept that level of bad service. They have moved to Plaza Midwood in a new facility. Hopefully things are better!
I wanna sell food from home. I wanna sell only steak and cheese sandwiches only. I have a seasoning recipe. But don't know where to get whole sale steak shavings.
They use to give a good portion for the lump crab but they changed their portions now. They only gave me a 1/3 of the portion for the same price. Unfortunately I am not going back after the customer service I got after I brought up the issue.
Your NOT lying about that either, they did the same thing to me! Charged me full price for lump crab and gave me a tablespoon full of lump crab on my crab fries but charged me full price and said they had just ran out of crab meat. Man get out of here! Told my mom the same thing a whole year later smh.
No one does seafood better than Maryland.. Baltimore crab cakes get shipped worldwide.. G&M , Timbuktu, Jimmy’s Seafood, Coco’s , Dock of the Bay , Mo’s… all softball sized crab cakes.. you can get get smaller but Jumbo Lump is the only way to go!!!
When I went to LuLu they didn't have any CRABS. The Mac & cheese was Box with added cheese. The Arnold Palmer half tea and half lemon aid was watered down. So I give that restaurant a 5. They need to go back to Baltimore with that food. You can find better restaurants here in Charlotte. The music and painting were the best thing. No where to park.

Oh wow 😯 I’m visiting Charlotte in a few weeks. I watched another video that didn’t show all of what you showed. Thank you 🙏🏽 That brotha know he needs to invest into cleaning his place up before they shut him down! Smdh we can’t have 🤬. Thank you for keeping it 💯
I’m goin’ question the 9 inches of fat white fish or flounder that’s juicy…was it fried? If so, what was the batter texture or seasoning taste? Thanks.
I wish I would pay $30+ for one crab cake. Especially when I can take my behind to the dock and buy a paper bag full of live blue crabs for around $20. Shoot, y’all better learn how to fish. 😂
