No Diana, if all your attracting into your life is MPIs!! You have a lot of work to do!! Learning to love yourself to begin with, but first you have to get REAL. Be honest with yourself, focus on your wants and needs. There are a lot of wonderful guys out there, take time out from dating until you are in a more stable place.

I did too but he made a new profile and added me after a couple of years. He made sure that I would see the pics in his profile with his young pretty wife who was pregnant by the way to ruin my life. He also texted me that he was visiting my country but I didn't bite. Wanted sex for sure.

I wish I saw this 6 years ago! But I learned it the hard way...took me six years, two MPIs and a bout of depression and anxiety to realise what I was doing to myself and how little I really thought of myself and my worth. But the experience has made me grow into a badass young woman now and I'm single, happy and have achieved everything I've wanted academically and professionally thus far. Sadly my MPIs are still struggling in life and love. I truly hope they see the light some day.

OMG it was just an expression man jeez! Cut them off a long time ago and have forgiven them, they really don't know any better. They were MY MPIs...because I am the one that experienced it. They may be great boyfriends/husbands to someone else some day. But to me they are my MPIs. That's what I meant when I said that.

I know, I myself wasted years with mpi's. The danger is, that as soon as you try to cut them off they show more interest...just to keep you on the hook and then they disappear again and so on. That's why they are so dangerous! Waiting for such a man NEVER worked!!! So please stop thinking they might be great boyfriends one day! Pleeeease...

I said they might be great boyfriends to SOMEONE ELSE...I have no interest in being with them and I am certainly not waiting for them as you seem to assume for some odd reason. And trust me, I have "cut them off" probably somewhere around 20 times in those 6 years, so I know. But the difference now is I'm older, wiser, too busy and the biggest thing - they are blocked from absolutely every form of communication (which I was always too afraid to do). As a woman who has been dealing with this man you portray in this video for two years, I must say it was hard accepting this. I've always made excuses for him, even when I was pissed off and knew better. I clung onto every once-a-month shirtless snapchat video he'd send me, and he'd eat up my desperation like a slice of cake. Thank you for giving me the backbone I needed, Matthew. He never cared about me. He just loved the attention he would get from me when he was bored.

OMG! How awful.......sadly, I'm currently doing the same thing. All this comes at a perfect time. First I thought it was just his job getting in the way, but now I see! Like in your situation, he just loves the attention I give him. Duh!!!! To me.....he mostly replies to something sexual......and I get silence if I say anything else, like how my day was or if I ask about his. How did you finally ditch him?

Surprisingly, it was easy. I began ignoring his monthly snapchat videos, and I realized I don't owe him anything. I don't owe him a confrontation, I don't owe him anger or sadness. I don't owe him an explanation... I don't owe him a thing. I spent two years feeling like I had to express how I was feeling or like I had to tell him off for not paying enough attention to me. It's a great feeling when you realize that person no longer deserves any more of your energy or time because they don't care to give you any of theirs. Any confrontation, emotion, and explanation only contributed to his cycle of acknowledging me once a month because I was feeding into his ego. I was giving him attention. I was saying, "Hey! You can treat me however you want, but I'll still be here, no matter how obvious you make it that you don't want me!" And that's not okay. It's not okay to hold yourself to such a low standard and to give someone a reason to not prioritize you or your feelings. He doesn't deserve to have such a hold on me. I deserve better.

HA! married and divorced one of those jerks.. they continue to play games for back and forth thru out dating and marriage.. He doesn't want to let go with out a fight but never willing to put any effort into the relationship or marriage. "I'm here and isn't that enough" Whatever. They push and manipulate you into doing all the work in the relationship and guilt you if you ignore them like they ignore you. Run if you meet on of these men, Run!

I've wasted a year of my life with someone like this. Just close enough to make me feel like dating or talking to other men would be inappropriate but distanced enough that I wouldn't be upset with his lack of initiative in whatever the heck we've been doing for the last year. If I started moving on I was somehow to blame even though he was always the one who wanted to idle in our relationship. I'm glad I saw this video randomly it gave me the wake up call I needed.

Even if you don't meet Mr. Right, there's nothing wrong with being alone forever. I know that sounds unattractive, but there's a difference between being alone and being lonely. If you're lonely, then you have nobody. If you're alone, that can mean you still have friends/family but just not a romantic partner. If people in relationships ever pity you for being single, just remember that they should be envying you because single life is freedom.

I had two MPIs in my life: first was in and out for 1,5 years, then cheated on me (and I broke up with him), then married that girl, then suddenly reappeared in 1 and 4 years (still being married). I chose to play it cool and eventually ignore his advances. The second one was a nice guy but he absolutely did not know what he wanted - one day he talked about how he wants to have me in his life, another day he says he wants to be in open relationship and so on. I left him to figure it out by himself. Girls, you asked what to do with MPIs? From my experience: I tried to get control and save our relationship as more "reasonable and mature person" as I thought, by all means I could think of. Didn't work! Because to make it work u need two people trying, and not one. They just do not want to really try. If people want smth they will find the ways, if they do not want - they will find excuses.

And no, this guy I have been seeing knows exactly how I feel about him, we have discussed it many times, but still it is going nowhere, love is really blind... I have a girlfriend who has an MPI. He's still stringing her along. She never seems to really get rid of him.. It's crazy but others only treat you by what you allow. Had one or two MPI men and got them out of my life. The signs are there but most people blind themselves with the false hope that they'll one day be together on a serious level.

I am so touched and appreciative, this was not only funny but I feel so completely validated, as a woman and single dater out there online on websites and facebook, etc. I have recently been getting a few guys like this out of my life and a small part of me still wondered if I was selfish for it, especially as they have actually criticized me at times for being honest, telling them the pointless conversation/made up relationship/flirting was over and letting it go. I am on a path of self discovery and it's exciting to know that my mistakes were just a pattern of behaviors that I can change now that I see things more clearly. Their psychology/mentality is quite simple really. It boils down to narcissism, they do it to feel good about themselves because they want to know that they can have someone if they want to.

Brittany, well, I think it's just that he's not that into the lady in question. Such folks might not be interested coz they are not interested in the person or that they are generally just lost and not planning on investing in anyone, but themselves or their existent/non-existent goals. In effect, they are really not mentally or emotionally available, yet they want to have their occasional fun and keep feeling some sense of importance too.

+justchillinxo +Olga Bespalova - I agree. I did noy get into detailes because since he is an MPI, I could not tell him im person... he only showed up when he wanted something. I told him something like: You and I have different ideas of what this is supposed to be, so let's just leave it as friends. He resonded with something which made it even more clear to me, that he is not for me, something about how he has respect for me (and he tried try to keep this convo on a light, friendly note). I never replied again. I assume that it is bc he knows that Im done with his bull****. I, you, all 3 of us, are too good for the b.s.

My friend has been in love with an MPI for five or four years I think and she is still not over him. no matter what I say to her , she keep saying that he is a "great guy" and she is the one at fault for breaking up with him . Kayla Empson I reckon investment is a dance and not all guys or girls always have good footing. Ive been this guy all the while being completely faithful and having genuine feeling for the girl. It seemed to me a clumsy anxious way of showing love. Its characteristic of a guy with a scarcity mindset that they may need to grow out of. At least that was the case for me...different guys will have different reasons. I say if you've run out of ways to teach him this lesson then dumping him will probably do the trick just fine if you can stomach it.

Matt, why don't you make a video about the single women who are not ready to get married yet? Should they date at all at this point of their lives? we are such empaths and fill in the gaps !!! because maybe culture teaches us that ? cinderella or sleeping beauty ? feel such a fool wasting almost two years on a guy like this ,so no he acts so but hurt when i called him out on it should just let it fade away instead of wasting more energy arguing and giving ultimatation. that just made me look whiny, clingying and demanding to his narrative. when i am ultra self independent ,self sufficent and the least materialistic person he ever will meet.

Here, used to be in that situation 2 years ago! You can turn the relationship 180 by you being the one controlling him. 1. MPIs are usually polygamous, so find another woman who is in the same position, make an ally, and spread rumors that he is awful to women. 2. If 1 is impossible, act as if you actually are willing to give him what he wants (you know, sex and attention), but never do when he actually comes around. But keep acting sexy. Talk about a "cute guy you know" (can be fake) to make him jealous. At this point, he will either stop contacting you or becomes obsessed with you. 3. If the guy becomes obsessive, keep on acting the same way and say "good bye" one day all of the sudden. He will be dumped by you and feel hurt for the first time. MPIs are exhibitionistic...and actually very mentally weak. They fear rejection, which shows that he isn't worth a man. If you do the above, he will probably stop being an MPI. The jerk I used to know did. Good luck:)
