Great interview. Sapp was an absolute beast....late 90's Sapp was the most dominant defensive player i've ever seen. He was getting a ton of sacks....and even if he wasn't getting sacks, he was blowing up running plays, terrifying QB's into rushing their throws, and just generally being the heart, soul, and swagger of a consistently GREAT defense.
He is top 5 in that era for sure. I will give him best tackle, maybe best lineman. But there were other dominators, like the one he mentioned, Ray Lewis, who I would give the nod to as most dominant of that era.
Mike might be old he might be fat, might not have the look of the new breed of radio personality but he knows his !@%$#^& and facts are always at play.
LOL I laughed at that one too. I was in high school and drove from Philly to Orchard Park with my buddy to watch a game (he had family in Buffalo). Fortunately Rob Johnson was the QB and we bet against him ... Won $200 that Sunday, which might as well have been $200,000 in high school, and went to Casino Niagra after the game. Crossed the border with an ounce of shitty weed and came back 18 hours later with $500 (which we spent on more drugs and Moose Head beer). Rob Johnson holds a special spot in my heart after that weekend!
Such a smart guy talking all these interviews yet when bankruptcy came up he quiet🤔look at all the faces but bankruptcy was while different energy 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Mike Hawks bankruptcy is an embarrassing topic. It's not something people want to go through. I can see why he had a different energy when talking about it.
