- complete dismantling of the car

- new lacquer

- new (almost) all brake, cooling and fuel system components
- new wheel disc lacquer

Ich mag diese Dreizylinder Zweitakter. Habt ihr super restauriert. Es ist immer wieder toll das es Menschen gibt die diese alten Schätzchen erhalten. 👍

Páráda, otec měl toho samého bílého s SPZ STC 0812. Pro mě je to kásná vzpomínka na děství. Vždycky jsem prý říkal, až budu veliký koupím si taky vabuka, ale zelenýho :-)

mal som o "rok" mladšieho - kupovaného 13.02.1980 (piatok popoludní). nikdy nezradil, vždy došiel do cieľa. ps - al som náporové chladenie - pôvodný chladič presunutý pred motora 3/4" hadice z plastu k nemu - nebolo treba ventilátor a 1.5HP výkonu ostalo pre kolesá. to desať rokov pred eisenachom.

Nice! I have some questions about Wartburg 353. 1. Does the original editions (353 and 1.3) have power steering? Did you add in power steering? 2. How does a 353 drive? (e.g., in terms of turn radius and so on)

Thank you very much! I'll try my best to answer all your questions. 1. None of these types have power steering. Remember that these cars were produced from 60's to 80's and power steering wasn't a standard that times, especially not in the Eastern Block. There's no point of adding the power steering, because it would require many constructional changes. The car has a really big steering wheel (approximately 60 cm wide) so this helps a lot and the non-power steering is very comfortable when driving. But yeah, the car has about 1400 kilograms and turning in a tight place is more of a gym-like hand excersise! But the steering and turning is acceptable. 2. It's awesome! Well it's not that fast because the car itself is heavy and the motor is small (approx. 1000 ccm 3-cylinder). But it is a 2-stroke, so it has a pretty nice acceleration. Overall it handles well on the road. It sort of "tilts" in curves and on roundabouts, but so do all the old cars. Anyway it is extremely comfortable! I've never seen such a comfortable car. Driving a Wartburg is a very pleasant thing. As a vintage car, it's almost perfect! Hope you found all the information you needed. Greetings from Czechia!

@@jendavideos I don't think 353 was 1000kg. I was able to push mine, jump in it, put it in the gear and pop the clutch, when battery died on me. Doubt I would be able to do it with 1400kg car.

Well, as found in the original documentation the curb weight (non-loaded) is 920 kg. The gross weight (loaded) is 1320 kg. It can be found here as well: www.car.info/en-se/wartburg/353/specs But you're right, the wartburg is very easy to push. For example: when I try to push a modern hatchback, which is not that heavy, the pushing is much harder that with the wartburg.

Také jsem vlastnil "varťase" jezdil jsem s ním taky na technický benzín.Dal jsem o něco víc oleje a on to vzal.Přiznám že za mnou byl o to větší smrad jak normálně.

Thanks for your comment. The music is called "Bugatti Step" and it was composed by a famous Czechoslovak composer Jaroslav Ježek. You can also find it in the video description.

Vielen Dank. Wartburg 353W war von 1976 bis 1986 hergestellt aber hatte das Knüppel Schaltung von 1983/1984. Dieses Auto war im 1979 hergestellt, so es hat das Schaltung bei dem Lenkrad. Grüße aus Tschechien!
