@@11Survivor Maybe because Austria and Habsburgs had an entire millenium of victories while Hohenzollerns did nothing more than win some wars in the 18-19th century to then be so incompetent to remove the creator of Germany (Otto von Bismarck) and destroy Germany in a World War. Just because the austrians lost the Seven Years War, lost against Napoleon many times (but ended up winning) and lost the Brothers' War doesn't mean they hadn't any victory on their history, in fact they were really victorious. It wasn't everything about marrying, they had to defend their realms including the entire HRE and Europe from the Ottomans. They even had one of the best generals in history, Prince Eugene, something that Prussia never had. Napoleon said that his main "teacher" was Prince Eugene.
@@Void_Wars Poland could have been given Oppeln (upper silesia), all of east and west prussia, and part of Brandenburg between the Odor and Netze rivers. Meanwhile Poland would be compensated by being allowed to keep its panhandle and would get all of east prussia.
Well, the Netherlands where also Part of the HRE of german nations. They could have well been a Part of the german empire. Like the swiss germans. But the swiss chose democracy... 🤷♂️ :D

@@leone.6190 ur dumb, when germany formed the German empire, it was made mostly of only German speaking regions, nobody who didnt speak German didnt wanna join germany, so netherlands could never be part of germany, they have a completely different culture and a language that is pretty different too

This version is a bit different and shorter from the one I heard (and love) on Dr. Ludwig's channel. I don't know why, but this version gives a nostalgic feeling. Perhaps it's the auido quality. Nonetheless, I like it.
Seeing this map makes me sad. Austria joined Germany at a wrong time, causing the Austrians to abandoned the German name for shame cause of the very man who unify her with Germany

I'd genuinely want to make a HOI4 mod with these borders. However, I don't wanna fully destroy Switzerland and I'm not sure how I would pull off the Köingsberg area and Alsace-Lorraine territory to make it look like this. Any advice? Update: MapChart made a HOI4 P4ovice map and this concludes that question

i love the song, even if the flag is wrong. Black-White-Red have been the colors chosen for the "Kleindeutsche Lösung" The "Großdeutschen" that wanted to include Austria aswell used Black-Red-Gold (based on the colors of the Holy Roman Empire (Golden Banner, Black eagle, red feet and beak)
@@sc9881 it was not. The first state that claimed the entirety of germany was the 1848 Frankfurt Government that used Black-Red-Gold. Black-White-Red was even intentionally designed for northern Germany. and the German Empire never represented the german nation as a whole.

today, 150 years ago, kaiser wilhelm the first was crowned in versailles as german emperor. Today is a historical day as today germany is formed. Lang Lebe Deutschland! heil dir kaiser!!!!
That first painting, its Kordian on Mount Blanc and is relating to Polish independent literature from 1834 ( its part of book "Kordian" written by Juliusz Słowacki this book was illegal in Kaiserreich ) ;) *Angry trolled Kaiser noices*

The Poles just took over upper Silesia, despite a majority voted to stay in Germany and fought a war against german freekorps, Danzig wanted to join Germany aswell, nur the Poles refused, despute Danzig had the status of free city. Eupen Malmedy, which is predomenently German was given to Belgium and Elsass Lothringen also had a majority of german speaker, meanwhile the Sudentengermans had to live under the czech and many Austrians wanted to join Germany. The borders of 1940 would be more correct
@@Ghreinos Man those land just Simple belonged to Poland. Easter Upper Silesia wanted to be part of Vistula ocuntry just like Greater Poland or Kashubia. So this is reason why Weimar republic shape + Rheinland was best for Germany, I would add Austria too. You don't have to be stealer of europe. 1940 is good hape when you like to do boom boom on the street Because of partisant actions.
Very nice Song and video but I think the colors ⬛️⬜️🟥 for the map do not really fit when you look at the second picture in the background. The colors of the 1848 revolution were⬛️🟥🟨. But thanks for the video anyways.
It would have made more sense for the flag to be the modern German flag, so the flag associated at the time with the German peoples, but as a South Tyrolean I gotta say, this is a very beautiful song. Sadly it's misinterpreted a lot.
