So much this, as a very tall woman, finding a seat that isn't for the average median male, it's infuriating. Leg support is missing for me along with way too tight hips/sides and also not tall enough back/torso. I think the sizing for these seats is to to keep out women ;) just kidding, but it is really annoying and making some seats with better back heights and widths and bases with adjustable length and width is long overdue.
For my first DIY rig I had a Honda Prelude seat.Got it from the junk yard. It was great! Wouldn't mind getting a SL Benz or Corvette seat. Needs to be able to recline nowadays 😂
Pickup up a floor model of this seat at Summit Racing outlet for $450. Loving it so far! And I had the same thought about switching this into a future track car to justify the price.
Great channel. At 55 years old, I am going all out with an lime green ASR Pro rig with DBox motion. Finding a comfy seat is extra important to me due to daily low-back pain from military injuries back in the early 90's. With some time gone by now since you made this video, could you recommend me a comfy low-back friendly seat....up to $1200 I am willing to spend if needed. Thanks! :)
I use an FIA grid Q and absolutely love it. I have the same seats in my E36 M3 track car. I'm not a big guy and its fits snug 34 waist so not sure why you said it's to wide. Besides in the QRT range the differences between the seats are very minor mostly the cushions change but yeah 1500$ is quite an investment for just a seat lol my back thanks me everyday since I had 3 operations so this seat is very comfortable. Great choice NRG are bargain seats mostly and it shows.
The sparco rep basically told me to skip that one based on my size if I remember correctly so I really didn’t spend a lot of time with it. And similar to the formula, I quickly knew it wasn’t for me when I sat in it briefly. But that could have been my mistake and perhaps should’ve given it more time. One thing I forgot to put in the video is the importance of the size of the seat and physically having it fit into smaller cars which was a factor he told me to consider too with his recommendations being the either the EVO or the QRT so that’s also where I spent most of my time comparing. Also the two that felt the best for me. I hear you on being way better on the back. That makes the price worth it no matter what haha.
