Dave Campbell was much more than 6', even as a teenager he was a big lad. He was the same age as me and from an adjoining district to where I lived, and was not to be messed with. He went from club doorman to club owner in a very short time, and in his later years never got his hands dirty it was all done for him, which is why he never got done for anything.

I knew Big Dave Campbell for many years God rest his soul. He owned a nightclub called atmospheres in bury and a car dealership and whenever I bumped into Him or was having a drink with him he was always a complete gentleman . There was another side to him though if you was crazy enough to cross him he was a very big and powerful man and was scared of nothing. Regarding this fight between him and fury I have absolutely no idea and big Dave’s not here anymore so I’ll leave that there.

Well said Ben, you couldnt have put it more blunt and 'factual' when saying that john ( who unlike marmite sometimes i love john and other times he makes me wanna akinwonda him...not that i could, even now!) Was a pro boxer with a decent record and boxing was more "go on lads get to it" them days if you ask me in a general sense? John fury is a traveler, it's in there culture to have a son that can fight and most dads in the traveler community that have a son that can fight are very proud, I do thaiboxing I'm not a proper fighter but have had some fights I'm more a fan but I've trained with some real fighters , in thaiboxing they fight anyone, anywhere, anytime it's not about money . Joe Egan and Micky Theo are claiming to be fighting men and want to fight John but John fury is relevant at the moment and they are not so it comes across as just wanting a big payday . Maybe Micky and Joe should fight each other and make them selfs more relevant and then call john fury out . As this type of boxing is ruining the competitive sport of boxing, it's more like the xfactor than boxing . Basically no one cares if you've sparred mike Tyson or your a hard doorman we want to see people working up the ranks putting on good fights that are worth watching .I've sparred lumpini thaiboxers that have had over 300 fights and I'm still a nobody in the fight game but if you offered me a big payday I'd fight anybody.
