was "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" really that bad? (REVIEW) 

I think honestly that Sally Feilds is the most age appropriate Aunt May.

To this day there has never been a live action Spider-Man movie that visually has looked as stunning as this movie. Andrew Garfield's chemistry is still beyond electric and I also love the interactions between Andrew's Peter and Sally Field's Aunt May and Dane DeHaan's Harry Osborn (when they're just hanging out) and I think Dane and andrew had better chemistry than Tobey Maguire and James Franco and seemed like they actually were friends. Other than that, yeah the movie is kinda hard to watch. Is it the worst Spider-Man movie? That's debatable. It's between this movie and Spider-Man 3 (not including the Venom movies and Morbius). I'd personally say Spider-Man 3 is worse.

To me, this movie is my guilty pleasure and I do not care what people say as I enjoy the hell out of this movie, despite its obvious plot and pacing issues, but regardless there's just something about it that I thoroughly enjoy.

I love TASM 2 so much, but man I wish instead of throwing Goblin and Gwen’s death in there they should’ve made that the end of the trilogy, make just Electro the villain of TASM 2 and then set up Harry to become the Goblin as the villain of TASM 3 and kill Gwen there, I know that’s a bummer to end a trilogy on but it’s how the duology ended up ending anyways so I think it would be fine and would’ve made for a more complete tighter knit story

I feel like with this set of actors and such great visuals it's a real shame how much people dislike this series and decide not to give it a chance. It definitely has it's range of issues and I would understand why people dislike the films but I just love Andrew Garfield's portrayal of Spider-Man and he does such a great job in this role along with Emma Stone as Gwen that a lot of the problems don't matter to me. While watching it I don't feel like it's unwatchable or terrible because I just had a good time with some fantastic moments in the film. When Spidey stopped electro with the fire brigade guys and high fived them or the final scene with him and the kid fighting rhino or any scene with him and Gwen. It's a shame that studio interference ruined what could've been the greatest spider-man films for truly, in my opinion, the best live action actor for the character.

I think Norman was also dying at 19 years old. I think he was using his work to survive all those years but the disease caught up to him. Could be wrong but that was my take. I actually don’t mind this iteration of goblins origin. Tobeys goblin isn’t much more innovative in my opinion. It’s just a simple lab accident that turns him evil. Typical.

Bro honestly i freaking love this movie woth all my heart. I will never understand why its as hated as it is.

One thing that I was really excited to see how Marc Webb would handle is Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane because one thing that Marc Webb easily excels at is handling relationships and I think that the relationship between Shailene's Mary Jane and Andrew's Peter would have been really awesome to watch and I bet they would have had great chemistry and would easily have been better than Tobey and and Kirsten who had a very toxic and annoying relationship.

I agree 100% I hate that deleted scene it is so stupid and it doesn't make any sense and it's (non-Canon) according to the amazing Spider-Man wikifandom

I think The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was at one point a perfect movie, that on the way to the final deadline the script was dropped and all the pages got shuffled out of order. It's the only real way I can wrap my head around this movies multiple personality condition, it jumps back and forth between plotpoints so jarringly. Harry as the goblin and gwen's death really needed its own movie separate from Electro to breathe.

After a few years, a bad movie will become a masterpiece.

tbh i think this movie flopped only bc of poor marketing other then that movie is really good with direction and all movie has some good emotion point the last scene of gwens death really had great emotionaly impact that scene stayed in mind for years!!

this movie has decent and good writing not that bad. the chemistry between emma and andrew nailed it! the breakup scene was necessary for that. i like how marc webb captures the realism of spiderman and its surroundings like the emotional conversation between peter and may. max i will say is good his arc was good as a spidey obsessed fan..he was a great villian. harry and peter most realistic meetup ever! no for real!..i just love how this movie sets up message for hope too! this movie isnt bad as people say its definetely not worst. imo worst is FFh...this movie was hated because raimi fans didnt accepted andrew as peter. this movie actually feels like comic book to life..and yes peters parents arc leads us to something in the movie and this movie was a cliffhanger to the tasm 3 which was cancelled so the suitcase scene wasnt added for nothing...i know this movies are kinda hard to follow but once u get that the movie is pretty solid and the humour of spidey the relationship of peter around other people is realistic and the peter struggling with his life as spiderman too...imma say definetly not worst...its a GOOD movie if not great c'mon guys theres no perfect spidey movie till date...for me this is personally favourite and i disagree some points and also agree some of the video but remember its not the WORST its GOOD

I can’t hate this movie. Andrew G is my kid bruva’s favorite Spider-Man. And though it’s really bad and not fun, there’s a decent movie buried deep within.

What I like the most about the amazing spider man 2 is that the villains are actually scary, the spider man suit is fire, the ost is some of the best stuff I have heard. And I love the atmosphere that is in the movie, with a mix of hope and eeriness. Also the web swinging is top tier. What I don't like about the movie is how many times Peter and Gwen break up and get back together. It's very similar to Sam Raimi spiderman 2 & 3 where peter and mj's relationship is just way too shaky. Both adaptions don't really know how to properly construct peters relationship with his gf. There is also just an overload of ups and downs with peter in tasm 2. They should have made it more gradual. Apart from that though all the Sam Raimi spider man movies, and tasm 2 are the best spider man movies I have ever seen. (I hate the MCU spider man, I'm sorry but I just think those movies are actually trash)

I still remember I was in 4th standard. So, listen, Spiderman was always my favourite character and Tobey too, I had Spiderman in a CD, my Dad and I used to watch it everyday, he then bought me Spiderman 2 and 3 on my birthday and I used to watch them all the time, I loved all of them. I love the Ultimate Spiderman animated series, I have action figures, a whole f-in suit which I won at a game zone when I was a kid, the suit is still kept in the cupboard somewhere, and when I'll be grown enough, I'll make my own Tasm cosplay suit, my hostel room is filled with so many Spidey posters you can't even imagine. Then when I got to know about a spiderman movie, TASM is coming really soon, I didn't know how to react. It was my 4th std as I said, I remember walking towards the theatre and in that theatre where I still go to, it had a path that led to the entrance of the theatres, and on walls are the posters displayed in a plastic lit frames, I lost my $hit when I saw the Tasm poster, I sprinted towards it and I was lost, mesmerized, I examined the poster, the deep scratches on Spidey's chest, I was so excited, I watched the movie theatre and the feeling of watching a Spidey movie with my dad after so many years, it makes me cry today but small me didn't care or knew the importance of the moment, and since then Andrew and the Tasm series are my favourite and I'll carry this to my grave. Experiencing a spidey movie first time in the theatres was a feeling I cannot explain. Although since then, I've seen many movies but missed Tasm 2 beacause my Mom and Dad were busy the whole week, missed ITSV and ACTV, I still regret it, but I watched NWH and I was excited to see Tobey of course, he was my childhood spiderman, but when Andrew came in first, I cannot tell how much I wanted to cry, my eyes were teary but I couldn't cry since I was with my friends so I screamed like the Sinister Six were after me. I'm an Engineering student now, 2nd year studying game development, and till date I wish they made Tasm 3 so I could watch it in theatres the first day, but to also redeem myself from missing the other spiderman movies. Btw, amazing video, lol. I'm about to cry f-.

I have always loved the tasm franchise, to me its the best spiderman movies to this day, i love tasm 1 but i super love tasm 2. I never understood the hate, its so good! It has its issues but its still in my opinion the best spiderman movie ever made.

No. The only thing they did'nt do well was Goblin. Everyting else was amazing. Sure it was'nt all comic acurate but thats the point of these movies! People say they want the movie to be like the comics, and sure in some ways they definietly should do that but then we already know how the story goes! This was and still is my favorite spiderman, the soundtrack, visuals, and story were amazing to me. Except Goblin.

I do kinda wish TASM 2 wwent for the dark tone that the first film did. Also, they should've focused on Electro and wait for Harry to kill Gwen in the third film when Peter gets the symbiote.

I also do have my own idea of what tasm 3 if it were to happen how and what I would want it to play out so first you guys remember missy kallenback she was that girl in tasm 1 who had a crush on Peter but nothing really happened so I would make her the main love interest for Peter and have flash Thompson come back to New York and from the military and become peters closest friend and I would make Norman Osborn come back and have the symbiote as a head because the original idea for tasm 3 was that Norman would come back with the symbiote and as a head like the spider punk version and also Peter still grieving over the lost of Gwen Stacy and at the end of the movie it will see Peter helping aunt may at feest where she references Martin lee and they meet and have him become mr negative in tasm 4
