@@JoxshuxaI think you can watch a movie and forget what the fuck and who the fuck was was in it. I barely remember Ms Stacy in that Dinner table convo. Most of the table was Gwen’s Dad and Peter just going at it. So like, easily forgotten tbh.
stoppp I actually cried in that scene. I mean at least we got a chance to get to know uncle ben before the killed him. In the original series I gotta be honest, I didn't really care he died.
I honestly really liked the different take they had on Peter not immediately becoming a virtuous hero. I feel like it seems a little bit more realistic for angsty teen to be full of rage and want to find vengeance, and then when the lizard is destroying this bridge and killing people and he sees that he can use his powers for more than just vengeance, that's when he truly becomes Spider-Man
Finally i found a soul that have same thought as mine..... It was more of like a slowly depressed teen who have dilemma on what to do and stick on his father work who did a big mistake and try to solve it but this guy don't have any experience on being a depressed man to understand this peter and Spider man
Exactly. If you have the strength to lift buildings with your bare hands and your father figure just died, you can’t convince me you wouldn’t wanna kill the person that killed them, because you definitely would want to.
I want you to know that, at around the 29-30min mark, my mother (who had been listening to the whole thing in the background) especially lost it at "I need spiderman's blood to heal my mysterious fake movie disease". Which, the line delivery was fxcking hilarious, but also they had me REWIND IT so they could catch it one more time. It was delightful, wish you could have heard them cracking up
Disgusting. How is everything wrong with society encompassed in one person. To begin you’re unnecessarily hating the best Spider-Man movie, second you refer to your mum as “them”? Oh god that’s awful. And then your profile is the worst, you must be a disappointment to not only yourself but others around you.
I think Andrew had the best depiction of Spider-Man. Tobey was the best Peter Parker and Tom have was good at being both. But ofc the MCU had a much better story than TASM. Also, what a coincidence you have the same name as my dog.
The best scene of these 2 movies wasn't anything that they tried for really but was when Peter helped the kid out of the car on the bridge, when he removed his mask and came to the kids level and admitted he's scared too and that the mask helps him feel strong, that's THE spiderman for me right there, that super short scene is where the movie was redeemed until right after when it got stupid again
@@thefollower2933 Yup, pretty much. Peter is one of those heroes who used to really, really, care about his secret identity. That's one of the things I hate about super hero movies. :( But that scene was directly from Batman Beyond, which also put the kids life at risk because the villains found out he knew.
I actually like Peter’s motivation being revenge at first, and I think the fact that it feels wrong was done on purpose, so that we can see Peter turn into the Spiderman we all know
I personally think the suit itself should evolve as Peter becomes more like Spider-Man the Hero and not Spider-Man the Anti-Hero. I like his costume as he began to search for the killer, he's more of a Spider-Man the Anti-Hero, I like the concept. But as he progresses in his search, he starts to become more and more heroic and changes and upgrades his attire to reflect until he truly becomes Spider-Man. This movie just flat out gives him the suit because ehhh?
And marcus making it seem like this is a huge sin is weird to me, since Peter's inital use of his powers after Ben dies is to chase down the guy who killed Ben seeking revenge. Granted in the comic and in the raimi movies it happens way quicker than TASM, but it still happens. I have no issue with peter's motivations at first, just as long as he doesn't stay that way, and he doesnt so whats the issue here?
@@JerryMcB3rryalso rewatching the movie the script and direction for these movies are also bad too no way home proves that andrew is a good actor and given a good script he can be the best spiderman
Yeah there’s a lot of nonsense in these movies, but I agree, Peter wanting revenge actually makes a lot of sense. I know Spider Man doesn’t kill people. Neither does Batman, but when Bruce Wayne goes to the courthouse with a gun in Batman Begins it makes sense. It’s what an angry irrational person would want to do.
@@DavidElendu The only way Spider-Man is a problem in that game is if you believe it's because of the "escalating standards" theory, but even callers to his show pointed out hypocrisy like how Jonah helped Scorpion in the past
@@DavidElendu I agree in part, that crane smashed up a lot of buildings and nearly killed 100s of people because he webbed and tried to fuckin yank down a demon's helicopter on top of a construction site, like you're spider-man bro, you could't have followed it or stuck yourself to the underside?
@@NoBody-lj5xh ur not a hero but thats not the point, the point was the intention behind it. he was tryna help and failed which is spiderman stories in a nutshell.

To this day I am salty about the way they treated Andrew. He would be a perfect mid 20s Peter. But the studio won’t let the character get out of high school.
Two big things that I hate the most about this movie: 1. Peter Parker just doesn’t give a shit about anyone besides Gwen. He doesn’t give a shit about those innocent citizens who crash by the truck at the start of the movie. He doesn’t give a shit about his friend Harry. He doesn’t give a shit about his aunt who is gonna be alone at her house with no body take care of her because her horny nephew flies to UK just to be with his gf. Most importantly, he doesn’t give a shit about electro. He doesn’t care Max is his biggest fan, and he doesn’t even try to save or cure electro who unwillingly turns into a monster due to an accident. He just kill him like nothing. Seriously, after he kill electro, he doesn’t show any guilt or even mourn for Max’s death. He just joke around with Gwen. Spider-man love interest should play an important role in his story, but she shouldn’t be the ONLY one who matters. NWH really fix this by showing Andrew’s Spider-Man saying Max is just a nice guy who turn evil because of that accident. He even try to cure electro, something he didn’t bother to do in ASM 2. 2. The fact that many people start to defend this movie just makes me so furious. Like…STFU. This movie FUCKING SUCK!
Oh God, the train platform and the entire sequence leading up to it had me almost thrown out of the theater I was sitting in because I couldn't contain my anger. A fucking subway train rises up out of the ground, on what has to be a hydraulic platform and I screamed out, "ARE YOU SHITTING ME?". Not only was this a waste of storytelling and special effects, as the train car could have just been resting on the tracks and the tokens used to open the gate leading into the secret platform, but how could he have built this in secret, away from Norman and his spies, electronic surveillance, and how did he fucking pay for it? How could he have expected to keep it hidden for this long or even manage to build it under the streets of NYC without anyone knowing about it? How did he dodge the police, transit authority, or square the permits without anyone becoming the wiser, in New York? OK, say you hand handwave that all away with rotating building crews, each working one piece at a time, not knowing how the finished product would look or function ala the infamous HH Holmes Murder Castle, how do you explain his master plan of telling his son this secret that could have easily been explained as a micro cassette or CD-ROM hidden within the linings of his briefcase, that he KNEW Peter would keep as a personal memento belonging to his own father, but instead hide subway tokens inside a cheap ass calculator that could have been thrown out, or lost or misplaced rendering the entire thing moot. How would he know that at some point Peter would open said calculator to find the tokens, and know exactly what they were for? How would he know that Peter would link the subway tokens to the secret tunnel? How would he know Peter would even be looking into his disappearance, or that he would find the info that would link the two pieces of the puzzle? Every single bit of this mystery has to happen exactly as daddy planned it, but does so in such a way that every piece of evidence has to be uncovered exactly as it unfolded in the film for it to work. Its so convoluted and so complicated, and all of it just to give us information that WE THE AUDIENCE ALREADY FUCKING KNOW!
I think that "amazing" iteration had its potential like t the action was good, and the CGI and music(Hans Zimmer part of it) were godly. The first film was really hit hard by studio's experiments with Peter's character and the idea of the duality of his life(it was barely touched in 1st film). And then as I understand from many articles and some videos, they kinda tried to fix it in 2nd film, but then studio just decided to make their own multi-film thing like Avengers and remade/cut film just to fit more further plot "potential" into it and more cool fights, and placing things that actually needed attention on the second plan(and killed the film).
But Peter was right about how take a penny works... The pennies there arent put there by the store, theyre change people got and didnt want. The intention is to leave them there in case someone else wants or needs them. Putting a "$10 policy" on them is just dumb, and could possibly be illegal since its a form of charity.
This really hurts me say it but i have to confess… you fell off. This is coming from someone who used to admire you for around 3 years! You used to be my biggest role model in life but I realized over the years you just dont hit the same anymore please just retire
Andrew is a very good actor and you don’t see him that often in movies anymore. Which is sad cuz I really liked him. But hopefully we can see him more in films, this was just a setback.
While I hate these movies, his rage and angst make sense when you remember he's a teenager who never really had the power to misuse. Spiderman always misuses his powers until he really understands his responsibility
I just feel bad for Andrew Garfield, in interviews he’s mentioned how he always wanted to play Spider-Man and put so much pressure on himself while filming. Sucks that he got so much hate for this film when he had no control over it
On point. TASM movies are absolutely atrocious. I never thought that I'd be bored of a Spiderman movie but TASM 1 proved me wrong. As for TASM 2, that shit is the Batman & Robin of Spiderman movies.
Also with Thor I like these moments where he seems somewhat ignorant (for lack of a better word) so he gets to be more funny, so when it becomes serious where he can truly show off his intelligence and problem-solving, it makes him a much better character since he has so much more to offer.
My girlfriends first super hero movie was ASM2 and she watched it in the theaters, now she think all of the superhero movies are like this and for that reason I will never forgive this Spider Man.
Okay, now you got me thinking of an idea. I wanna see a movie where the superhero knows that anyone knowing his identity is a sure death sentence, and he uses that as a weapon, telling a few evil enemies his real identity so they die.
The KTCrew I haven’t seen Death Note, but from what I’ve heard, people die if the protagonist writes their name in the book and he can choose how they die too. I want this death to be more unexplainable and uncontrollable. The superhero knows a person will die if they know his identity but can’t control how it happens and he doesn’t know why it happens.
I am so glad that No Way Home exists because it proves that it was entirely Sony’s fault for these movies sucking shit. Would like to see Andrew get another solo film in the future.
This thing is, Peter's defense for not giving Harry his blood is "Well look at what happened to doctor Curtis Connor? It mutated him!" But Peter never gave Connors his BLOOD
Considering Andrew Garfield's acting skills, humour, tallness, handsomeness, etc. he could've been a fantastic Spider-Man if his movies' stories were anything like the 2018 PlayStation Spider-Man game. It would just suit him well.
16:35 To be fair in the comics Lizard has an army of reptiles that followed his command, which would be absolutely silly to see in a live action New York setting, so Lizard wanting to turn people into giant lizards makes more sense and is more of a threat to NY and Spider-Man especially if they would be under Lizards command.
I love the slowed down version of gone gone gone at 34:52 somehow it makes me wish the song was less upbeat and cheerful with it’s melody and more sad and slower tempo
felt the same about Jamie Foxx. He got to play Electro which in my opinion is a badass character and he also was not done right in the film but I loved him in No Way Home.
@californication of course it is, it’s a f*cking superhero movie with a giant CGI lizard as the villain, what do you expect, it’s still entertaining, that’s really all that matters
Guys please I’ve been trying to find that big band cover of the spider man theme used at the start of this video for literal years now, does anyone know where it’s originally from
I gotta say. Coming back from Spiderman No Way Home, Andrew killed it for me. They redeemed his character in my eyes at least. And I whole heartedly agree that Andrew is a good actor who got screwed over by a horrible script.
@@lnsullivan422 if i remember correctly, in tasm1 he stole the web fluid from oscorp or something, he just made the shooters. now, how did he make more web fluid? did he learn how to make it outta nowhere? did he steal more web fluid from oscorp? idk.
@@dj0rtega I can explain quantum entanglement to you but I don't know shit about playing a single musical instrument. Similarly, Peter figured out the decay rate algorithm but that doesn't mean he should how to sew.
If peter and harry are such close friends then why does he have to sneak into oscorp in the first movie when he can just have his best and closest friend who is about to own the company just get him in?
I just watched all five original Spider-Man movies, and there's something I noticed about the Amazing Spiderman. The Raimi films are a little notorious for their extremely long opening credits. Amazing Spider-Man starts almost immediately. It's like they learned lol
I just noticed that he played Toxic by Brittney Spears in the background of the plane scene because the music video of the song takes place on a plane.
wait so he cant afford milk but can afford a whole day swinging worth of spider web fluid or whatever that he used (never paid attention to all the science shit, these movies boring af)
Thank you, I had a rough time watching this and I never finished it. I keep thinking of going back to it because its a spiderman superhero movie and at the time there wasn't much of any other option. I thought ok I'll watch this eventually. Now I don't really feel like I have to go through with it.
The revenge thing is comic accurate, it just falls apart based on the fact he already knows that it's his fault so he should've learned his lesson already.
I never understood in the logic of the film why Spider-Man didn't just give Harry a blood sample. I mean, it either works and Harry lives, or it doesn't. Unless I missed an explanation within the film, it seems there is no reason for Spider-Man not to do this.
I like Nostalgia Critic's theory. His theory is that the scene in which Peter went to the subway and discovered A) that Oscorp wanted to weaponize his dad's research, and B) that the only reason the spider bite worked on him was that it had been made with his dad's DNA, was originally going to be BEFORE the scene in which he denied his blood to Harry. Because in that scenario, he has a reason to distrust anyone from Oscorp, plus he knows for a fact that it wouldn't work on Harry. But the script got chopped up and the final product makes less sense.
@@ApolloElEvan If they're your favorite Spider-Man movies cool. If they're _some_ of your favorite movies ever, I guess that's cool, too. But I would be shocked if you said these two movies were your top 2 overall movies of all time.
The best part of that sequence is when the cashier is like "Hey, run after that guy who stole the money!" and Peter responds by saying "Nah, you were a dick earlier, so here's a witty response instead"... because it's the *EXACT SAME DIALOGUE* as in the first Raimi film! I had to pause the video and laugh at that part (and when Peter starts drawing the Spider-Man mask on graph paper, *JUST LIKE IN THAT OTHER FILM* ) This was supposed to be a new take on Spider-Man, right? So why did they copy those two things exactly as they happened in the Raimi film????? It's so weird
