Lmaaooo right? 😂 they relish in genocide way too much for me to think they're misunderstood. Broly never liked killing by mass, even enraged. He was never evil, just a horrid threat
@@BTRshownot genocidal but you can't say he was never evil, he used Goku as a trampoline and clotheslined people so many times in the second half of that movie all of the being brutal and the famous line "Kakarot, how much do you love your son?"
Nah claiming Zamasu is sypathetic is wild my G. He at least had someone trying to tell him that killing is wrong and still went against that. Despite his trauma, Broly was still raised to be a killing machine by his father and went he got out of control, was mind-controlled and treated like a servant, stunting any chance he had of developing mentally, emotionally or psychologically.
All the mildly sympathetic DB character already got redemption. Old Broly was a psycho and Zamasu is just stupid because even though he is a Kai, Kais can die and make mistakes so they are LITERALLY mortals, nothing separates them except a label without meaning, he's literally just an angry racist. And let's be real, I barely remember GT, Baby had a reason for his actions, but I somehow feel like I won't be sympathizing with a skin walker.
@@pptemplar5840 by dragon ball standards, they aren’t mortals. Kai’s live forever. The only reason old Kai is old is because he is fused with a mortal being
I don't think that Gowasu misguided him, it is because he misunderstood what Gowasu thought. So, technically it is a mistake when it comes to Zamasu's grasping skills.
Fun fact: Despite the fact people say he hates Goku due to the crying he actually doesn’t, in the Japanese Dub of the Z Broly movie Paragus explained that Broly actually sensed Goku’s power when he first arrived on the trap planet/New Planet Vegeta (Specifically in the scene where they were sizing each other up and everything faded to black except for them and their auras.) and that caused his saiyan instincts to go out of control which made him see Goku as a powerful opponent he wanted to fight and kill, the crying had nothing to do with it. He says quote, “Could it be Kakarrot? Does this mean that Broly’s instincts as a saiyan have been awakened by Kakarrots power, and he is starting to overcome my mind control?” Also in the JP dub he only knows Goku’s saiyan name because Vegeta said it right in front of Broly. Broly also only starts remembering Goku right when he is defeated.
Z Broly is absolutely a victim, Him being a villainous monster later on after he fully snapped doesn't mean he's any less of a victim of Paragus' parental abuse, the harshness of Saiyan society, and King Vegeta and Frieza's influence. Paragus made his own demise by abusing and neglecting Broly by mind controlling him into silence. Paragus' being so afraid of Broly's emotions and not talking him out of it stunted all of Broly's emotional growth. Broly's only outlet was violence be that's what he was taught by his father and by extension Saiyan culture.
If you think about Z Broly’s power was his own downfall, which is one of the main reasons why I think he’s the most tragic villain in a sense because of how his legendary demonic saiyan power literally takes over his mind, body, and spirit when he loses control. For example like how when Broly was siting down in a chair inside his room all by himself sweating profusely by trying to maintain control over his continuing rising ki from overflowing because of his growing hatred towards goku going haywire in that moment. And also where like when he was finally Transforming into his legendary super saiyan state, we could see him crying out in pain as his body started to crack apart and his legendary Demonic ki combusting from the inside out of himself.
When it comes to Baby, I found him to be the least sympathetic here. Sure, his hatred of the Saiyans was understandable, but that was programmed into him (he never lived through the actual suffering of the Tuffles), he killed countless people in the pursuit of his goals, controlled almost everyone on Earth to repopulate his home world instead of reviving his own people (some humans remained on earth, but regardless, he was willing to kill them all too just because he’s the villain) and when he had the chance to kill the Saiyans under his command, he didn’t even try until they attempted to protect him from Uub (somehow, they all survived his attack). He was just a powerful selfish entitled man-child. Baby deserved to die, one of the Tuffles last and most embarrassing failures (you could count Super 17, but that was a joint effort, so I don’t count him).
I don't think Zamasu is confused. I think he's actually full of hate and has no feelings for lower beings (mortals). Zamasu is a holier than thou lunatic
I was watching a video on how broly is misunderstood and dude is in general actually just evil, even in his LSSJ form dude was completely able to percieve and not just raging even shit talking the entire fight about killing them
Baby is not sympathetic at all, he was just a villain who so wanted revenge on Saiyans yet he killed many innocent people who had nothing to do with the destruction of Planet Tuffle
Agreed. There is something to grasp, he was born to destroy the Saiyans and hates them for doing something he never lived through (similar to Cell honestly), but once he has them under his command, he doesn’t kill any of them, even when he tried to, it had little to do with them being Saiyans and more because he saw them as unless now when they weren’t comparable to Uub (failed to kill Goku, Pan, Trunks, Goten and Gohan even when he had all the power to). Trunks, Goten and Gohan all get blasted by Baby’s attack and survived, it’s pretty embarrassing that he failed this much.
I think the sympathy comes more from what he represents rather than his actual character (that thing he represents being the genocide of his race caused by King Vegeta's men). Not that this makes him a bad character by any means, it's just that he's a lot closer to pure evil than some people think without being a 100% jackass... might be closer to like, 80%.
I just wish Baby was written differently. he doesn't feel sympathetic because from the first moment you see him he was written as a villain, someone who's evil. I wanted a baby saga where we are shown how deep inside he isn't really evil, he's become like that because his race was eradicated and he was created with the sole purpose of getting revenge for his people. I wanted a baby who deep inside knows that goku and his family aren't to blame (can't say the same for vegeta tho) and still takes over everyone on earth because he thinks of it as revenge on the saiyan race. someone that by the end of his fight with goku realises that he was just going eye for an eye and doing exactly what the saiyans did to his people. I wanted him to be blinded by rage and act like a villain, and by the end of the super baby saga he realises his mistakes and either dies regretting what he did or lives on searching for a way to revive the tsufruians. his story could also be a good reminder that goku doesn't come from a race of noble warriors, but ruthless barbarians who went around the universe spilling blood, conquering planets and literally committing genocide. a way for goku too to ponder on his race history and keep in mind to never go on that path. in my opinion he could have been top 5 villains in db history if he was written something like this
also a villain that uses a genki dama fueled by the hatered the dead people from his race is one of those cool/edgy af GT things that should have been more iconic
I chose zamasu, he just wanted the perfect world, a world with no violence. And he assumed if there were no mortals, the perfect world would happen, he just wanted to make everyone's life better. His intention is pure, but the execution was evil
@@amjadalwan4560 Read chapter 82, Gas was desperate for Elecs validation to the point he trusted him blindly which cost him his life. That is more sympathetic than DBZ Broly lol
@@amjadalwan4560 He was a child in a sense and children look up to those they deem as authority figures, to Gas, that was Elic, a man who promised great things for their group, but only truly cared about himself and the position of power that Frieza has. Gas only finally understood this after Elic admitted that Gas was nothing more than a means to an end, but it was too late, his life was nothing more than a tool to him, his body was beyond repair and Frieza destroyed him to flex his latest evolution.
I've only read the manga for super, I haven't watched the anime. In the manga Zamasu sees mortals fight and kill each other and decides they are irredeemable. His solution to mortals fighting and killing each other is to steal the body of someone stronger than him and fight and kill every single mortal. I believe he also kills the gods of that timeline, as none of them were willing to stand by and watch Zamas do this. With regards to Zamas' mentor, Gowas is shown trying to teach Zamas a less violent morality, and in the Tournament of Power the last fighter of his universe states that the only reason he is able to accept the fate about to befall their universe is because of the lessons of the heart taught to him by Gowas.
I think the most sympathetic character in dragon Ball is Vegeta, but only because of the original inaccurate English dub. When Vegeta was dying on Namek, he tells Goku that Frieza took him from his father when he was just a little boy, saying he'd kill Vegeta's father unless he did whatever he said. Vegeta did everything Frieza asked, but he killed his father anyway, along with the entire Saiyan race. With tears streaming down his face, Vegeta tells Goku "He made me what I am. Don't let him do it to anyone else." I'm starting to tear up a little bit just writing this. 😥
The thing about zamasu is I wouldn't classify him as sympathetic due to the fact that realistically, just because he had a shitty teacher, that doesn’t mean he's in the right for killing a bunch of people. If i had an ass teacher or parent and then decided to go murder a large group of people i would be considered "criminally insane" and not "sympathetic" and "badass" (there are exceptions)
Piccolo Jr. just wanted to avenge his father. Taking over the world was an afterthought. Mr. Buu was designed to be a sympathetic villain. He was taught that murderous rampages is how you "play."
Now I love old Broly, and maybe they meant new Broly. But I think once you say, "I chose you to be the first of my victims" and describe yourself as a "True Freak" The title of victim belongs to someone else.
Honestly I would’ve said cell if the cell games wasn’t a personal pride project for him since it bought the fighters time to get stronger but idk if that was sympathy or pride
Zamasu was always evil, if anything id say his non canon counterpart Hearts from SDBH was much more noble with his intentions. Baby on the other hand i completely understand yet he was just handled poorly just like Broly in Z
@@amon-zero not really a reach since both their beliefs are similar, in the belief their kind are the superior race, class, species etc. And they do horrendous acts to those they believe to be lesser, and feel no remorse for their actions
Bro said sympathetic baby idk he's not sympathetic because let's be real he would've understood what the situation of the saiyans on earth were doing living peacefully zamasu is far from sympathetic he is somebody who believes what he is doing is bettering the universe he doesn't sympathize with the gods that have to look after mortals even though lots of mortals are led astray really easy and he doesn't sympathize with mortals not realizing there are good mortals out there it's not gouwasu,s fault I see alot of people blame him I think what he did really was the right thing zamasu was just blinded by his statues and tried to find some excuses to make up for his actions I hear everybody say he's pure of heart the only teasons that holds up is because of his conversations broly is definitely the right choice the original movie doesn't show that the best but super shows how sympathetic he is through his friendship with ba
True, but he just hates evil, and believes mortals are the cause of evil. If Gowasu had better guidance and proved that he was wrong, I believe he would've been someone who stands for good.
"Z Broly is innocent" Broly chanting that he is the fucking devil: Broly destroying an entire galaxy: The entirety of the second broly movie: Being the reason shit broly exists:
So we didn’t see the same art the fact that he went back in time to make sure he couldn’t lose by getting himself in the future. The only loss he has ever gotten. He took over that person‘s body killed his family. He never was like maybe I’m doing bad no and depending on which bro you’re talking about I feel bad for that one.
I think broly is the most sympathetic because of his motivation honestly, if Broly had less power there’s no doubt we would feel bad for him, he’s a victim of his father and the sayian race. There’s a fundamental reason for his actions and that’s because he wasn’t raised right so he doesn’t know wrong. Kinda like how we don’t hold Vegeta back as a terrible person because he has grown out of that sayian conquering spree, however baby and zuamasta don’t have good motives. Baby is willing to kill innocents for the killing of other innocents, in what world does that make sense? He’s just a hypocrite who defends his killings from other killings. Zamastu is just a goof ball. He doesn’t have good reasons to go hmm yes I’ll kill the entire mortal race and some other immortals who hold me from that. He doesn’t have an excuse to not have learned, he should know better but he doesn’t. So yea I think motives and the actions around are what are most important. Though I’m sure in the poll most thought of the other iteration of Broly.
You see here's the issue. Z Broly I have no sympathy for. Gets angy from PTSD and goes Green. Womp womp. But DBS Broly was legitimately turned into a slave. He doesnt know fluent speech, wore a high voltage shock collar at all times instead of some stupid magic suppressor. He had his first and once only friend in life killed, is finally rescued but immediately sent to fight again. Loses his mind after he starts losing, therefore in his eyes, disobeying his father that he still loved. LOST HIS FATHER, went beserk and couldnt control himself until he was sent back to the hellscape he was once banished to. He doesnt WANT to hurt or harm. Meanwhile Z Broly legitimately wants to rend anyone with black spiky hair that happens to be voiced by Masako.
Worst take if I’ve ever seen one, somehow a baby getting stabbed for just being more powerful and then is raised by his war driven father to control him gets a “Womp Womp” 😂 you can really tell who’s mentally stable and who’s not in these comments boy I tell you
I cant believe you said that zamasu should have the most sympythy like actually. Zamasu seriously killed mortals there is no reason to do that and people were telling him not to do that. That is like saying you have sympythy for freiza because freiza was confused.
I loved DBS Broly better than DBZ Broly because he's more calm and quiet but do not touch the green fur on his waist because it's really an ear that belonged to his friend Baa!
I disagree. Broly may not be super sympathetic, but hes definitely better than Zamasu. Dude was an egotistical maniac who commited more acts of genocide than Frieza. Yeah you could argue he had "pure intentions" or whatever but that flies in the face of what his arc is as a character. He preaches that hes "Holy" or that mortals are "Sinners" but hes sadistic little goblin freak who killed Chi-Chi and Goten with Goku's body while SMILING and gleefully told Goku about it to break him. I doubt Gowasu would have been able to guide him to make any different choices. Dude was/will always be crazy
I disagree. It goes hand in hand with his arc. He has a corrupted sense of justice, and he believes mortals are truly irredeemable and evil. He shows happiness in their destruction because he believes he's eradicating evil. He's arrogant and sadistic, similar to how Gohan became sadistic and wanted to make Cell suffer; an eye for an eye. Zamasu sees their destruction as equal payment for the debt that is their sin.
@@amon-zero I want to preface this by saying I don't consider this an argument, but I want to address all the points you made so please don't read me numbering things as me being sarcastic or an ass 1. Gohan making Cell suffer is the reason Goku had to sacrifice himself during the Cell Games. It is portrayed as a negative thing so Idk why you'd compare them? 2. Yeah I agree that Zamasu's twisted sense of justice is the driving force behind every bad decision he makes. But I also believe that after a certain point it stopped being for "justice" and started being about his ego. There's 2 missions in Xenoverse where you are helping either Black or Zamasu kill the other and while, obviously, that's not the same as an episode or manga chapter it still gives credit to the idea that eventually Project: Zero Mortal updated to Project: Anyone who disagrees with me. 3. Maybe I'm looking too hard, but I've always seen Trunks and Zamasu as foils for each other. Trunks is willing to put himself on the line to bring peace to those who have suffered, ultimately accepting that what he did for said people made him "evil" in the eyes of the closest thing to a god he's ever met, while Zamasu slaughters anyone who opposes him, God or Mortal alike, and ultimately justifies all of it to himself because he sees himself as without flaw. To say that Zamasu's circumstance makes him sympathetic rubs me the wrong way when he's the polar opposite of who we, the audience, are supposed to see as the good guy. I love Zamasu and Black more than any other Super villain and I see them as incredibly tragic, but that tragedy is one of their own making. If Zamasu weren't so egotistical, Goku challenging him wouldn't have led to Black. In fact, the way I see it, if the G.O.D and Angel of a given universe are hanging out with a random mortal, then they probably know better than a random Kai. I disagree heavily that anyone could have convinced him he was wrong
@@Miha-massey @mihamassey-mf2pe I understand what you're saying but I still have to disagree. 1. I bring Gohan up because their situations of becoming arrogant and sadistic in the face of "evil" is exactly the same. Yet we don't call Gohan evil, because when he claimed he wanted to make Cell suffer, we understood due to believing ourselves that Cell was evil and deserving of it. Similarly: Zamasu views mortals as evil, and harsh punishment they receive as something they deserve. He's pure of heart. Which I'll explain. 2. Zamasu is pure of heart, as the tea scene represented. And if we're using games as partial evidence, then even the games claim he's pure of heart, as it's a trait he has in DBZ fusions, and he's immune to the devil might beam. Therefore, he truly believes he's doing good and handing out justice. Hence why I believe he could've been guided correctly. Since Gowasu showed Zamasu a pure example of his thought process being justified via the barbarians on planet barbery. Which Gowasu should've noticed the distortion that caused. 3. Zamasu saw only himself as capable of carrying out punishment because even the GODS disagreed with him. As their roles of being Kais is to do the opposite of what he believes needs to be done. Hence he's willing to destroy anyone to achieve his goals.
Zamasu wanted to kill everyone baby aswell gas and broly are just being manipulated well gas WAS since he got stomped by frieza thought he can become strong gtfo
