Someone that finally knows how to tie down the load you're the first person that I've seen that "chokes " their load the proper way nice job. 👍👍👍🙏🙏💯💯💯💯💯
I passed cdl school in mn now im putting numbers together to start my own hotshot business idk how i cam across your youtube channel i new rights away this is something i can do i appreciate your channel 🤙🏻
Enjoyed the video man. Rest up and hope you feel better asap enjoy that family time. Is it often that some shippers give you dunnage like on that 40ft steel load? Thanks man
Thank you! Really appreciate that. 99% of the time the shipper provides the dunnage unless the broker tells you ahead of time that you have to bring your own.
Great video, Alex! It’s rough sometime when you’re under the weather, and you kept pushing. Wondering…the little digital display on the dash left of the steering wheel. What are you monitoring? Have a great time at home. Much deserved. ❤
Thank you! Yeah it’s never fun to be on the road in hot weather when you have a fever. Not my first time. I’ve had it a lot worse in the past. That monitor is my tpms sensors on the trailer. Shows pressure and temperature. It’s honestly a must for a trailer. My truck came with oem sensors for trailer but I’ve heard they will not reach far enough on a 40ft trailer. Plus you’d have to start rolling for the oem ones to show a reading where these start working right away when you turn them on
loving the content as always! hot shot trucking doesn't seem to be a thing here in Australia, just wondering do you have a bed setup in the back seat for when you overnight? and how many miles on the truck now?
Hey Alex, hope this message finds you in good spirits. I’m a 21 year old out of Dallas, Tx looking to get into the hotshot industry. I wanted to know if you’ve had any trouble with being over length running a 40ft trailer. I see guys getting fines for being over length running the 40ft. Most guys from what I’ve seen are either A getting a gooseneck with a shorter neck, B running a cab/chassis set, or C just running it as is. I’m looking to purchase my own truck (2021 Ram 3500) and trailer(to be determined) soon to start running and wanted to get your thoughts on the situation. Also thank you for posting content has helped me tons in preparing myself for this journey !! Best wishes !!
Thank you for your support. I have not had any trouble at all with the setup I have. In fact, majority of the hotshots are 40ft gooseneck and a truck that has a bed intact. A DOT officer has to be in a seriously bad mood to even give you trouble for a setup like this. I have not heard of anyone getting questioned for this. Never heard of a gooseneck trailer with a shorter neck. I don’t think they make those because then you’ll be hitting your truck against it while turning and doing it will even connect without hitting your tail end of the truck. I say don’t worry about it. You should be fine.
Hey Alex, hope you're feeling better. The next time you're rolling through the Lakeland/Tampa FL area let me know, would love to buy you a cup or coffee or lunch.
People gotta stop doing this!!! You want him to stop what he is doing for a cup of Coffee? Naw you need to book him on consultation or something his worth is more than lunch…. Pay him his rate😂😂😂😂
@@iamOAKland happy to book a consultation with him. Also happy to drive the 30 minutes to the Loves on 75 outside of Dade City an buy him lunch if he is planning to stop there. Don't expect him to go out of his way or make a special stop, just put out an offer...
@@PlanFive To be honest , it’s just hard to remember when someone says message me the next time you pass through a certain area. With so much going on with work and making videos and by the time I pass through the area next time around, I just can’t remember even though I’m not against meeting my subscribers.
Would it be possible to get more food content? I travel on the road for a living as well and trying to eat healthy and lose weight. You give me some good ideas.
Just found your channel - great content, thank you. I’ll start watching your previous videos. I have a few questions maybe you’ve addressed in your other posts. Do you have a CDL? Do you use an ELD or paper logs for DOT? What is your estimated net percentage of your gross income. Does it vary a lot or is it pretty consistent? Thanks again I’ll keep watching.
@@Mr.AlexKogan Thank you for the reply and answers. For your dispatch expense. Do they take a percentage of each job or do you pay them a standard fee or both?
Thank you! My fifth wheel is factory Mopar. I believe they are manufactured by company called Curt. They are popular in fifth wheels and trailer accessories.
Much respect, Alex!! It takes a man to go out when he feels like shit to go and still drive for hrs on end each day to make his earnings for the week!! Thank you for all the info from all your videos as a new hotshot. You have helped me with knowledge on how to chain and strap and how to tie the load properly. I appreciate the videos buddy keep em coming
@@joshuathompson7714 I sleep in the back of the truck. I have a bed where rear seat used to be. If you scroll through my channel you’ll find a video on my truck setup.
Thanks Ken! My schedule is always different. Ideally I like to be 2-3 weeks on the road and 1-2 weeks home. Just depends how work goes and how much I can earn before going home.
Always different. I prefer to just give you guys an idea of what type of rates I get on loads. Everyone’s net will be different. My videos aren’t really about talking net profits.
I’m thinking about going back truck driving doing the hot shot I’m in Canada and wondering what’s a good dispatch to use to run back and forth between Canada and the US do you have any suggestions ?
Thank you for the valuable content you share! As a business owner, I'm finding your videos incredibly insightful. I'm in the process of starting my own and would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance you could offer. Could you please share some tips or resources for beginners? Is there a way i can contact you directly for some more personalized advice Thanks in advance for your help!
They aren’t wet. They are coated with some oil to prevent rusting. Look at the part when they were being loaded, they look the same as they do when unloading.
@@Mr.AlexKogan Alex don’t act stubborn you drive all day and night not at home with family for chump change . when you can simply sell buy a semi and book loads for a driver !
@@mikelopez4148 you can do same with a hotshot truck. Put a driver in it and stay in bed like you are right now. I know semi drivers with flat beds and I know how much they make. Trust me , not any better than hotshot but you do have way more and I mean way more expenses on a semi truck. IRP registration alone is 3 times more than what I pay. Let’s not get into breakdowns on the road or buying tires. Come on bro. It’s not my first year on the road.
@@roshondatorrancehoye4785 I don’t put my dispatch company info out on RU-vid. You can message me on Instagram and I can answer a few dispatch questions.
Love the channel man! I’m about to jump in it! Closed the deal on a 4500 dodge hot shot truck. Don’t have the money for a trailer so maybe pull rvs or something until I got a diamond c behind her! Take care and I’ll see you somewhere out there brother!
