I just want to say, thank you so much for these videos! I feel like i've been running around for years trying to figure out how to take care of my hair and all its led to is misinformation and frustration. Finally a place that answers questions about the foundational nature of hair and how to cater to the health of your hair and not just how it looks.
I wish I would have seen your videos back in 2016 when I became natural. I became a product junkie and have the products to prove it. Will enjoy trying this challenge for the New Year 2024!
I have all of my reading materials which I reference often. I’ve been getting my maintenance cuts every 3months but I’m thinking about switching to every 4months. I’ve followed you and Aliese since about 2019, just turned 73, silver gray, medium density, fine strands and my hair is now shoulder length. I’ve done SeeSomeCurls classes at least 3 or 4 times.
Since I f_cks with fabrics, I can say I've seen "shiny" wool. And just like "shiny" hair that Naturally has a matte finish, the shine on wool is from old, greasy, unclean wool that has been lived and sweated in for years without regular cleansing to bring back its clean fresh look. Lastly, that type of neglect often has permanent damage that cannot be restored. In the case of hair with the matte or finest wool finish, that has years of grease and raw butters, we just shave it off and grow it back using consistent cleansing practices. The wool fabric is not so lucky. It has to be thrown away or used for stuffing or compost. Thanks so much for sharing your tight curl knowledge and expertise on this platform for free!!!!! I guess it is true that "the best things in life are FREE!❤
