Wasteland 3 Review | Game of the Year Contender 

Thanks for placing me the in best review I've seen for this game so far. Late reviews are always the best ones, and you did a great job. Gaming 'Journalists' should just quit their jobs after watching this. As far as WL3 goes, sky is the limit once dlc's are out and the entire game is patched and fixed.

My biggest complaint is the companions. I usually go three rangers and three companions because I really like all the characters. I just wish there was more to them. They interject quite a bit, and certain companions have a lot to say in certain situations, but I wish we could talk to them more and hear their opinions on story beats and factions. As of now you can only talk to companions at HQ and when they’re not in your party, and you only get two or three lines of dialogue with each of them. There’s a severe lack of companion quests, as well.

Finally someone said it about old xcom Vs new. There's a vast difference between the two, and if you loved the original the new one doesn't scratch that itch for a lot of people.

Playing Jagged Alliance 2 mod 1.13 is a perfect pill to boost your immunity to bugged save files, hours of OCD grade inventory fuckery and ridiculous gun-and-tactical pants porn. In exchange of so rewarding combat, and squad members being your best imagined friends. Thanks for very enjoyable video!

I caught remnant from the ashes on sale today and I think I’m going to transition away from Warframe to it, since I finally caught up to how much cash I was burning on that game. Thanks for helping me kick what almost became a very dangerous addiction.

I have enjoyed this game SO MUCH. I just finished on supreme jerk difficulty and have some tips: A brawling character and a melee character make for a powerful combination. Use the brawler to stun enemies, and use the melee perk that causes stunned enemies to be automatically crit by hammers. Max out Sneak on a small guns/explosives character to sneak attack groups of enemies for great justice. Start all your combat characters out with max charisma to proc a special attack about every 4th attack. Max out animal whisperer and get the freaking honey badger. Make a ranger with both first aid leadership to get a team bonus every time he restores a downed team member.

Great review my man, I can’t really say no with such a heartfelt and well worded recommendation 👍 I’ll be putting this on download today. I watched a friend playing it on stream and at one point he found himself in a brothel, he walked into one room of carnal delight and found a goat tethered to a bed!! 🤣🤪

Thanks for the review. Playing it now and having fun with my killer chicken that seem to outperform a huge dude with assault rifle. Had to laugh when you mentioned replacing the barrel on the crossbow. What sold me on this game is when you mentioned that the makers of this game also made bards tales.

Best combat people to have: Sniper and melee(unarmed). Sniper obviously because of the range and damage, melee unarmed because you can use things like the power fist which do more damage than guns and at high level will only cost 1AP per attack so a shit ton of attacks per round.

This game is so special. I love it. I always wait a month or 2 or 3 to get games when they come out. With this I am glad I did. Load times are quick now and a huge patch just came out yesterday

.44 Magnum was used extensively by Inspector Callahan aka Dirty Harry. He also used a 44 auto magnum in one of his films. The one where his future wife was being chased by a gang on the boardwalk. Sudden Impact. Great movie and even better firearm!

I should have realized that the bits of this game that turn me off are the ones that turn you on. :P Also, Fallout 1 was based on Wasteland 1, so Fallout doesn't get to say shit. ^_^

In a perfect world, Beamdog does a remaster of Fallout, then Fallout 2 and finally Fallout Tactics, and just when we think it doesn't get any better, someone finds the missing Icewind Dale II source code discs and then that gets a remaster

From the little bit I've played, I have enjoyed this. The problems I have/had is the load times were insane and I had multiple crashes in different areas. I include had because a patch came out to remedy both things. The combat can be unforgiving, but fair assuming you geared up correctly and makes you actually work for gear and not cheese it by getting all your gear through buying it through vendors. Hopefully now that the patch is in, our experience with the game improves.

This is pretty old, but I just want to address a point regarding fallout. Wasteland 1 predated fallout 1, and had meaningful developer crossover. This means that in fact wasteland is not similar to post apocalyptic fallout. But fallout, is similar to post apocalyptic wasteland.

So you know, your video appeared in my feed 18 minutes after uploading. Must be a glitch in the overloads algorithm, but I'm certainly not complaining.

I gotta say I'm one of those "old-school" gamers that didn't complete Fallout or Fallout 2 as well. I tried, but they are just such a slog I gave up. Wasteland 3 really looks like it could deliver. I appreciate the perspective and the recommendation. At the very least, I could be giving my money to a far less-deserving studio.

I mean on some level a sniper melee build makes sense if you're going for a stealth character, not hating that idea actually. Gives me an idea for this run of new vegas I'm doing

I sadly can't bring myself to buy it. I love the setting and the aesthetic, but I'd rather want Wasteland with a Kenshi type of gameplay, and not Wasteland as it is.

You mentioned Jagged Alliance so I must ask: Did you restart the game to get Ivan or did you accept your fate of not having his OP ass to start with?

Definitely the best RPG of the last year. Best game though... Doom Eternal takes that in my opinion. No other game was quite so perfect as that. Wasteland had a few problems, such as a ton of bugs on release, some of which made the game a chore, especially the one that would not allow you to switch party members out. The lack of more varied party members was a detriment as well, especially since two of the playable characters show up almost at the end of the game.

This game looks so tempting, though I'm terrible at X-com style games.

Theres only a lack of ammo if you forget about crafting it with scrap lol. I had so much scrap. I happened to forget about crafting for the first 1/3 game then after that I never ran out of ammo to craft since I had so much scrap. Crafted a lot of healing items too

The respecing in this game is both good and bad. Mid game I respeced my entire squad for a cool $9000 or so. This allowed me to not waste a single point and have every person completely fill their roles. And for unique companions I did the same thing. companion in slot 1 always gets these 4 traits, and companion in slot 2 gets all the other. So cordite is a melee dude, but you can just respec and make him a sniper or whatever you want. While I like the freedom, it also takes away from wanting to try new characters or learning new strategies... You dont have to respec, but in a game like this where you can make use of every single point, respecing is as important as leveling up. Im going to copy/paste my squad chart here. Yes, I just played far cry 6 and thought FemDani was a great character. So I name my character Dani XD Dani First Aid Animal Whisper Automatic Weapons Hard Ass Leadership Lita First Aid Animal Whisper Small Arms Nerd Stuff Locksmith Wildcat Animal Whisper Sniper Rifles Armor Modding Weapon Modding First Aid - Specialize Velvet First Aid Animal Whisper Melee Weird Science Survival SECONDARY Lucia / Comp 1 Small Arms / Shotty Toaster Repair Barter Explosives Jodie / Comp 2 Sniper Sneaky Shit Kiss Ass Mechanic

Great review, actually came out in the day I started playing Wasteland 3. Was so excited by this game, but it's unplayable on xbox one s. Literally most bugged game I've ever seen in my 30 years of gaming, much worst then skyrim by 300%.. Im like 15 hours in, 12 of them is probably loading times. Characters disappearing, quests missing, dead corpses fighting, saves lost, game freeze when talking to a merchant. Hell that's even worst then shitshow76, much much worst :/// If your on console, save the trouble and watch a gameplay instead, it is literally made me almost cry lol

Why should i care about this game. It doesn't even have loot boxes... now back to Genshin Impact: Breath of the Waifu, a game where i can gamble away all my hard earned money, and gain nothing or worth and value in return. Because China needs money to craft more Chinesium.

Well, real guns balance themselves isn't really true if you want a wide selection of iconic weapons and truly want "realism", since, given the choice, there be certain guns you'd essentially never chose over another. Maybe because it's outdated, uses to rare ammo, is to hard to keep well conditioned or find replacements for in a wasteland or similar. And you would almost certainly never chose a .44 magnum in a modern combat cenario unless you're fighting like a buffalo or something.

Guess the Elitist speaks out of me here but Wsteland 3 is a bit to easy for me, first run on normal difficulty to get the idea of the game and number 2 on the hardest difficulty, already killed the like 100 gouhls near the RonaldChurch, the game crashed a few times while trying because there are so many of them (They spawn some time later after you cleared the camps for Glory). I think what really makes this game great is the Music and jokes, i knew i love this game the moment i saw Ronald Reagan.

True successor to the Fallout series. Great game but seems strangely truncated in its narrative. Really enjoyed the game mechanics but the whole thing wrapped up just when i thought i was getting into midgame territory. Damned Witcher 3 spoiled all RPGs for me...

I would love to experience all that on xbox, but it crashed 4x in the first mission and it is absolutely impossible to remain in the rangers hq more than 5 minutes cuz it crashes over and over. It, unfortunately, made it impossible to be experienced, which is painful cuz I was waiting for this game. I had to do Valor's missiom twice cuz it crashed over and over. Then I decided to not play until they patch all this crap.
