David Petraeus, a retired army general and former director of the CIA, speaks to CNBC's Hadley Gamble about Europe's energy crisis and the Russia-Ukraine war.
Not a bad interview except for where the interviewer slipped into a political hack and started attacking Biden's mental acuity. Kudos to the general for not playing cheap politics and shame to the reporter.
She ruined an otherwise solid interview by lending her legitimacy to absurd partisan attacks. It’s extremely unprofessional journalism to adopt as serious insinuations for which no evidence exists other than being strategically deployed by rivals to exploit crude stereotypes and prejudices. Old people are not senile. Gay people are not pedophiles. Women are not sexual harlots. Liberals are not snowflake socialists. It’s incredible that anyone takes as serious what Republicans say.
I am truly impressed with the intelligence and insights of U.S. generals. As a Canadian I feel lucky to have you as a neighbour. I may not always agree with their foreign policy, but I recognise the restraint shown by this superpower.

He is just supporting propagandas from his gov't nothing more. It doesn't make sense thinking Ukraine might defeat Russia whatsoever. When it goes to fully war we will understand Russia's capabilities. Insinuating over the health of Putin has been Western media propagandas since before the operation so nothing new to admire.

The disgraced general, David Petraeus, betrayed his country when he lied to Congress. His later negligent dalliances, during which he leaked some intimate details concerning our national security, pale in comparison. He violated his sworn duty to obey civilian authority. He is untrustworthy, yet for-profit media finds that those tarnished baubles on his uniform can sell ads, so here we are. He will continue to be shoved in our faces, reminding us that those medals could carry his country's honor and respect only if they were worn by someone else.

Hes the former director of the CIA. According to Pompeo their motto is "We lie, We cheat, We steal." how can you trust anything coming out of the mouth of this man... To do the job he did, you have to not care about morality, how otherwise could you possible be a good leader of such an organization... In my opinion, these are the people with no moral values at all, or at the minimum he can easily put principles and moral values aside so he can do his job which is to lie cheat, steal and kill... That's all the CIA does.... If you would care to listen to both sides you would easily see he's lying right now... But people don't do this, they will only listen to one side and then believe the understand what's going on.. That's not how the world works, if you want to understand anything, you always listen to both sides, Westerners don't seem to get this logic... I can't really blame you, they banned the other side, to prefend people from listening to Russia.. It's much easier to indoctrinate people, when you don't give them the chance to listen to other point of views... You see how brainwashing and manipulating works, it's very easy... If you truly had freedom of press, you would be able to listen to Russian media, but you don't have that freedom...

They are the reason we have this mess in Ukraine. Ukraine could have been easily brought into the West orbit without constant talk of expanding NATO. @@jvm-tv Putin expressed it explicitly that the collapse of SU was the greatest disaster, he would mess with internal Ukrainian affairs anyway. The citizens of that country have already lived under Russian government and majority of them opposed falling under Russian boot again. They would join EU sooner or later anyway and only NATO membership would guarantee their safety - Putin broke literally every treaty with Ukraine. Although thousands have died already and more will die, in longer perspective this war will only strenghten Ukrainian people. Maybe it was needed to make them completely disillusioned about their fate when their country would be again in a sphere or Russian influence. Asking a general to assess the mental acuity of a president isn't the hallmarks of a "great interview". Rather, it's tabloid and totally meaningless. Petraeus handled it very well, though

I was in the military in a foreign country before moving to the US, and I can see why the US holds superiority in many aspects such as the military. Please don't compare this guy to President Eisenhower, ever again. Eisenhower gave one of the most consequential and critical speeches about the United States at the end of his presidency. He conducted major campaigns during WWII. He was the real deal and a true patriot. Petraeus doesn't have that kind of backbone. Joe Biden was the youngest U.S. senator ever elected at age 30. He served in the senate for 36 years. He is an expert on foreign and domestic policy. His leadership in the Ukraine war has been superb. Regardless of your politics, his domestic accomplishments in less than two years has rarely been matched. Trump talked about an infrastructure bill for 4 years, one that was decades overdue. Biden delivered one and he did it with a 50/50 senate. America is America, in part, because we have a civilian run government. Eisenhower was a rare exception. Great generals and great CEOs don’t tend to be very good political leaders. It’s a different skill set (yes, of course there are some similarities).

It appears that the Ukraine and the USA do not want to entertain this option and this in itself should ring alarm bells for those with a balanced view.
