Basically the judge ignored almost all aggregating factors two victims, fled the scene, intoxicated, and reckless endangerment, concurrent sentencing is a slick way to give “certain people” a lighter sentence. This country was built for them, not ordinary people.
No it will be at least 20 to 25 even if she gets out on parole....she will be be 80 to 85 if she gets out on parole....she won't make it. No way this rich entitled woman is strong enough to make it for more than a few years ..
15 years for killing 2 little boys???? She didn't mean to???? She blamed everyone but herself. She has never shown remorse. When she chose to get into her car after drinking and then choosing to race her boyfriend driving 40+ mph over the limit...she is a murderer.
She drank before she drove 40 mph over the speed limit. She was racing another vehicle. She was speeding in a residential neighborhood. She fled the scene.
She mailed a letter to the judge asking for mercy saying, " I'm not a murderer". Maybe she should have taken a clearer look in the mirror. No one has the right to drink and drive. Not even you, convict!

@@WithoutRemorse12 Yes. So she got 15 years. Concurrently means she serves them at the same time. All murder sentences should be consecutive. When you make it concurrent it's like the second victim doesn't even count.
This would be a whole different story if not for her behavior. If she accepted responsibility she might have received probation and a shorter sentence.
She has to do at a minimum 15 years. And then she has to request a parole hearing at the 15th year. And since she has not exhibited any remorse or responsibility, she will be denied most likely. Plus, since was cheating on her husband he will probably divorce her and cut her loose with zero money and she will be afloat on her own probably for the first time in her life. And also consider what the other female convicts will do to her if they know she is from money and killed two children. She is not getting off as easy as some people think.

That's another 4 years plus 1/3 of 4 years for good time. That means she could be out in 6 years. ( Time served credits in California are calculated based on the date the crime was commited not the actual time served in jail)

Conversely, there are great, wonderful people who’ve had nothing but miserable lives. The explanation for this sentence is very simple: Rebecca Grossman is a wealthy, privileged, white woman and her victims were neither wealthy, white or privileged. This sentence was what one would expect. It is an offensive and very sad outcome.
The privilege won't end here, when she gets to prison, if she ever even goes, she'll be put in the safest, most club med location they can find, and she'll be protected every step of the way, unlike regular people. Shame.
if she had such great character, why was she fooling around with another man? as I understand it she was still married, doesn’t anyone who testified to her being such a model citizen realize if she wasn’t in the act of committing adultery that day, none of this would have happened.. and to make matters worse , engaging in a high speed race , drunk, in a residential area no less with her lover boy.. doesn’t sound like someone with integrity and morals to me.

What a slap in the face to the victim's family when she had her own kids speak. Wow. The victim's kids can't speak, because they're no longer here. She really doesn't care about anyone but herself.
The other car could have just as easily been the one hitting the children. The other guy should also be in jail. Speeding, DUI resulting in death makes his conduct a felony as well.
Can the fam file a civil lawsuit against her for a payday? It’s not gonna bring the kids back, but it could send the 2 surviving siblings to college.. etc.
15 years for 2 childrens lives is very light in my opinion. She purposely drove impaired by alcohol and then raced at a high speed. I just hope the Iskander childrens family can sleep soundly from now on.

I believed this is pretty standard at current sentencing guidelines. Remember that daughter, who killed her mom with a cooking pan and stabbed her 20 times, when she was discovered that she's been faking going to college. She got the same sentence for 2nd degree murder - 15 years to life. Most likely will be out by 7 to 8 years.
You'd think members of the media would have a cursory understanding of what these words mean when they say: 15 years to life, it means you're going to serve a minimum of 15 years or perhaps up to life. you can't have a parole hearing sooner than 15 years. It doesn't mean you're "out" after "15 years"!

Despite the sentence the gross man family will pay emotionally and financially for the rest of their lives. Vehicular manslaughter carries this 15- life sentence . She did not intentionally kill these children . What she’s guilty of is being a spoiled entitled brat.
Why are these "experts" surprised? She was under the influence and was almost speeding by doubble then posted speed limit. And never stopped!! I'm sure she didn't intend to do it but her actions after prove she tried to hide it. She may have been a saint before this but choices she made caused this. Face the consequences.
The justice system is too harsh and unfair. Especially when this is a true genuine and sincere accident. People aren't perfect. I believe in a situation like this, she should've been given a ton of leniency. 3 years max sentence

She got a light sentence! The woman is my age. I can't wrap my head around a woman my age who is a mother of teens going 81 MPH in a 45 zone on a residential street! And to continue to deny responsibility is unfathomable and it has placed a lot of burden on her own family which she is dragging down with her. Very selfish. @@dontbanmebrodontbanme5403 during the verdict they had a special room set up for HER family so that after the verdict was read they could go there and console themselves, that was the first clue this was gonna be "one of America's finest" getting special treatment.
