Back on my "Dream Field" I found what I believe is a Roman scattered coin hoard.

Welcome back, Hans! Long time no see. That was a beautiful photo at the end of the bronze and silver coins. My favorites were the depiction of Pegasus on the Denarius and the 2 Barbarian coins, made by the descendants of the Scythians. There must be hundreds if not thousands of tons of ancient relics buried in the ground in Bayern (excluding stone blocks) and I don't think the government should be tardy in issuing a renewal of a contract to its "A" Nr. 1 metal detectorist. You need all the time you can get to recover artifacts and find the answers to questions of antiquity.

21:27 Wow...Do the critters still using the Roman road now think it's the Autobahn? Marvelous finds, Hans, and the missing parts of the fractured coins may well be patiently waiting for your next visit to the field. reference your fragmented coins wasn't it common practice to make change by cutting off a quarter or half of the coin?

indeed I'm familiar of this practice. I can't fully preclude it but I would assume that the cuts would have been more accurate. I also found freshly broken coins on the fiel after the farmer went over it with the rototiller. thank you for watching and for sharing your thoughts.

Worth the long wait! Drop everything a Hans video! Maybe you're getting coins associated with burial offering along the Aggar of the road. We know that Rome had rules about burials in towns. Certainly looks like a road with ditches and the dorsum between.
