@UnbelievablyGauche I mean not really. Karl would just take the question way too literally. He'd say something like "How is some gonna give me cat arms anyway? Do they have magic powers or something" lol
I always admire Ricky Gervais's attitude and outlook on life. I think he is slowly morphing into Winston Churchill and should play him in another film.
I once watched an episode of Fawlty Towers in Spanish in Majorca, as I knew all the dialogue I didn`t need subtitles, one of the funniest things i`ve ever seen. it actually improved it.
Another series of Derek please.... ive never laughed so much, hamster on a piano ffs 😂😂. Loved it. After life was an emotional roller-coaster and amazing. 🙌
That comment about the same amount of work producing one 30 min tv program or 5 to 10 minutes in a movie is an amazing truth. I have worked on both as support and as an extra bc half the extras quit. Your honesty is refreshing bc making movies and TV shows is mostly just waiting around. That's why the extras don't come back to shoot the next day.. You have to enjoy the process as well as the result or you will drink or take drugs from the monotony.
The legs are great for jumping but as they get older it’s the first thing that goes. Cat arms are tremendously strong. They hang on by their claws and pull themselves up and in and out of crazy situations because of their arms. Also, cats can’t walk backwards. It’s hard their hind legs.
Sorry but it’s not an evolutionary trait for people to have the feeling that people who don’t pull their wait should be shunned and rejected. This is a very common belief but it’s factually false. Reason being, when archaeologists look at the fossils and bones of Stone Age man, and from hunter gatherer societies, what is found is the opposite of people rejecting/shunning people who don’t pull their weight. This is because of the widespread evidence of skeletons showing massively violent injuries that were very well taken care of and were able to fully heal and the person then living a long life after the injury. For example, Skeletons that show amputated limbs that were well cared for and then the skeleton showing many years of extra wear and tear in areas that were used to compensate for the amputated limb. This means that even though the person couldn’t fend for themself and couldn’t pull their weight, the people around them didn’t just let them die and they didn’t reject or shun them. They cared for them until they were healed and after they were healed they lived long lives, which would have required others to help that person and support that person when they needed it. There is even widespread evidence of brain surgeries that were successful and allowed the person to live many years with missing parts of their skulls. Obviously people with brain injuries and missing parts of their skull would have a difficult time surviving in hunter gatherer times but they were supported by their group and were able to live beyond their injuries. It’s absurd and anti human to reject and shun people who don’t always pull their own weight. Thats literally only a moral position of boomers because they were the most spoiled and wealthy generation of any generation. Therefore, they think that having to help others and having to be inconvenienced by others is like the worst thing imaginable and the sign someone is a total loser who should be rejected. This isn’t a historical morality for humans it’s a boomer morality
The depth of thought into the 1 ft arms 6 foot legs vs 1 ft legs 6 ft arms question took me out of a panic attack and into a fit of hysterical laughter. I feel worse😂😂😂😂😂. It was amazing!!! Thanks Ricky
Dearest Ricky, Anders asked me to pass on the fact that Stuart Lee, is by far the greater comedian. The only supporting evidence of this is that, he's actually a comedian. Keep trying.
Actually the rat running across your face is the worst of the 3 options as rats piss when they run and their piss can blind you. Happened to people long ago during plague times.
That question brought back a memory, of me and my gf at the time, lay in bed watching something, and all of a sudden I felt something, and kind of saw something block my vision, I put my hand on my face and felt something between my fingers, and quickly grabbed and threw it on the floor onto the light coming from my tv, and it ran towards my bed into the darkness Im not terrified of spiders, but that was fucking horrible
Ricky was at his best and most creative with Steven Merchant. He should collaborate with intelligent people or other creative people. He could travel to other European comedians to see who or what is funny beyond the UK.
Agree - series beat movies. Love both Derek and After Life! 💜 PS - Ricky, you look great! Happy Belated Birthday! (Just turned 56, so I understand + spiders ARE gnarly).
I know it's taboo not standing on your own 2 feet but I've never managed to get there, not for more than a few weeks! Feel ashamed of myself but I honestly don't know how to avoid depending on other people.. It's a fact of life, it's seems its got to be ancient behaviour, from when we all lived together, cooperatively. Now we are expected to handle being socially isolated, without being lonely, and economically solvent and each individual is supposed to be capable of earning so much, rent, tax, energy bills and drive cars.. Iook from the sideline aghast, it's a complete mystery to me how people eat in restaurants, go to bars, gigs, cinemas and out clubbing.. And there are so many new cars everywhere.. I'm a total reject who without the Occasional generosity of others would be completely alone in my flat, hungry and afraid to put the heat on... That's my level of dependency and then when I die someone else will have to pay to burn my useless carcass.. I sometimes take relief in the idea that in an egalitarian gatherer hunting society I would not be judged as a dead weight burden because I could contribute on an equal basis. Wrong time, wrong place square peg, round hole... A fly in their ointment, a turd in their punchbowl.. Wolves are at the door, called bailiffs, lifes not for living but constant suffering scarcity and loss and being a reject and a burden to the diminished circle of others prepared to help, slightly and occasionally, with rising resentment... food bank dependant.. I'm the one who couldn't get the drinks in.. Friends cost money, and as for the rising cost of seduction?! Too skint for love.. A horrible life... The end...
Would love to see you in more films and I can think of some great characters and storylines I think you’d make hilarious with your take on them. This isn’t a sales pitch btw 😂 happy bday for Tuesday
@@crystalship9900 it’s not. You’re not funny. You’re not making any sense. And I don’t really care. So where do we go from here? you just move on and be a dick to somebody else? That sounds about right. But don’t forget to say something stupid before you do. Thanks in advance.
My ex is going in for the procedure that killed the character (briefly) 17:56 in ghost town in a few dsys, he hasn't seen the movie and Im bringing it over the day before for a fun evening 🎉

Even Justin's pictures either side of you Ricky, makes him look more inspired and positive than the earlier mug shot they took of him. See what effect you have. Even the association will benefit in some Ricky genius way. 💎
