The lack of travel restrictions is unheard-of and shameful. I've never seen a federal criminal defendant on ball allowed to set foot outside the court's district without requesting and receiving the court's permission. Not even for a family emergency. This is distressing favoritism.

Prosecutors are being careful to counter the claims that this is election interference and intended to restrict Trump’s ability to campaign. The problem of course is that he and Republicans will shriek about the unfairness of it all no matter how many concessions they make. This is a widespread problem and (in my estimation) a mistake. The GOP will continue to accuse Trump’s critics/detractors of some supposed abuse no matter how he is treated with kid gloves-look at how they complain of a “two-tiered justice system,” a term the left has long used to describe the way the rich get away with behavior that the rest of us would never expect to.

The trial needs to be made public in order to avoid misrepresentation by any cable channels. A case of this magnitude should be allowed to be seen by all Americans, in order to see justice in action. If not, there will be lies spread by the unscrupulous, which will cast our judiciary in a very poor light.

There are people sitting in U.S. jail cells right now for years who were prosecuted under the Espionage Act! Some plead guilty and were sentenced to a range of 5 to 9 years! If Trump pleads guilty or is convicted he has to receive a similar sentence to those who did the same thing!

I was in a court as an intern when the judge asked one of the parties: Were you not my neighbor 10/15 years ago at that ....location? The party said: Yes your honor. The judge immediately recused himself!! That is the ultimate integrity and professionalism right there.

They say anything and everything, no matter how blatantly ludicrous, because it gums up the works. You don't want to go there. My father is a lot like Lawrence and it's horrible. He's so incredibly wise and intelligent that he needs to talk and discuss and explain complicated issues ALL THE TIME. Imagine having brilliant discussions and unique insights at home almost 24/7. It's impossible to even wash the bathroom in peace without discussing physics, ecology, theology, military history, archaeology, world politics.... you name it, he understands everything. As in, genuinely understands. And on the rare occasions I understand the issue better than he does, he gets confused and angry because he isn't used to it. I'd much rather watch Lawrence explain complicated issues one hour a day, than I'd have him as a grandfather.

Judges would be at risk, lawyers on both sides, jurors and others. Why? Because DJT would berate them and put them at risk with his minions. The case will be handled like thousands of other cases you’ve never bothered with previously. While I might agree with you somewhat, i really don’t want the trial to be judged in the court of public opinion. Just let justice be rendered, however.

Here's a quick sanity check; Would Judge Canon even qualify for the jury pool if she were a potential juror? No, I don't think she would. And she must recuse. But of course she won't and we probably can't force her to.
