You can't deny the great contribution of these movies to films today. My favorite sci-fi movie of the fifties was "War Of The Worlds" (1953). I also loved "When Worlds Collide". These movies were just fun, fun, fun!!
i remember robbie the robot even frome the olf black and white lost in space :D that robot was awesome and got me into electronics and programming ever since i was a small boy :D
George,Steven,Jimmy and Ridley are the "Masters of real science fiction". Not gufy or boring scifi. Just great storyteller!!! And this it is all ABOUT! To tell great stories in their own "worlds"
09:45 "Roswell for real" they say, but the reality concerning the alleged 'saucer-crash' which helped spawn some of these movies was closer to home... involving 'aliens' (illegal ones) and spaceships (rockets) ... another beautiful metaphor which told a fantasy story for public consumption which distracted all from a sordid truth... 'Operation Paperclip' - even today the UFO-myth is enhanced with films like 'Iron Sky' (should be called Irony-Sky) Nazi's in spaceships? who'da thought it eh? :)
Destination Moon is the father of 2001: A Space Odyssey? hahahha 2001 has nothing to do really with the other. It's about alien-assisted evolution. The older one is about... going to the moon. Maybe that's why Kubrick never admitted it, Spielberg?
@crabsyman George Lucas believe there is life out there. Look at the next part. Lucas belive there must be life out there. But what it is or how it look, he didn´t known it.
