I adore lanolips. I live in their products. I’m not allowed makeup at work so I use the flavored 101 ointments. When I’m not at work and want some color I reach for the jellybalms, glossy balms, or tinted balms. Just a note, the tinted balms come in regular and spf 30 versions. I can taste the spf in the spf balms, and the pigment settles into lines a bit with those, but the rest of lanolips’ products I love.

You might like the wakemake dew gel glaze stick - sounds up your alley. It's similar to the glasting balm but i prefer the packaging and found it to be a bit thinner and less gloopy.

I appreciated the perspective here as Amanada loves a water droplet lip but the hourglass and YSL are neck and neck in my opinion and with the Chantecaille lip chics they are probably my top 3 pigmented lip balm/gloss products. I adore the hourglass for all the reasons that are listed here but the YSL last longer, have even more pigment payoff and don’t move around as much. If I want a bold color that lasts I’m choosing the YSL but for an everyday, slap it on a bit more frequently ultra glossy finish the hourglass is gorgeous. I love the Dior glow balms too but there is a lot of similarities between shades. I like the Mahogany and the Universal Pink the best. Dior 8 stands out too. I find myself reaching for the merit oils often because they look so pretty but they don’t have much staying power and I suspect they can be a bit drying. The Make up by Mario ones as surprisingly hydrating as are the Sunday Fridays ones. Surratt lipsliques and the Sisley balms are GORGEOUS as well but extra pricy along with the Chantecaille.I like the Tarte ones too but sometimes they are a bit gloupy and if I had to choose hourglass or Tarte I’d chose hourglass. The Em Cosmetics ones are pretty too and I am very impressed by the new Milk Makeuo Lip Oils. I like the Charlotte Happikiss ones but not more than the YSL:)

Orchid from tarte juicy original is my perfect nude glossy and i love the smell and formula it's literally like having chocolate on your lips😂 i dont do plumpers because i dont like the sting or tingle so i do recommend the original for those like me

I really have been wanting to try the roen liquid lip balms but I want to wait for a sale. I’d also be interested in trying the lano lips one. I’ve tried their regular lip balms and I do enjoy it even though it’s on the thicker side but I’m intrigued by the colors. I love the colored summer Fridays they’re so pretty I love vanilla beige it’s such a good nude, and I definitely am a fan of lip oils! I have extremely dry lips so these don’t accentuate dryness like some balms can

The clear RdF thorn bite is the real deal. I had a recent flare of exfoliative çheilitis and the thorn bite resolved it within a couple days.

I think i have this one and for the price, it's unbeatable. It keeps your lips protected because it has vaselin, has a nice texture and the color is pretty! If you're thinking whether to get it or not, i do recommend it for winter especially if you dont want to buy super expensive sephora ones

Intrigued by the Chapstick one! I used to love a Neutrogena one in a black tube but Honest Tinted Lip Balm and Tower28 are my current favorites. And the new E.L.F. Glow Reviver Lip Oil is also excellent! I'm actually not a fan of the Summer Fridays because I find it too thick for my big lips 😂

This video is great and very helpful! I just got the clear version of the ysl and I love it, but I’m on the fence about getting another one with color. Do you find that the formula gets meltier in warmer months? I find that these click up formulas get a little softer depending on the time of year, and they feel a bit unruly and I hesitate to use them. I’m not great at applying a melty color formula. But maybe that’s just a me thing 🤣

Can you tell me how often do you have to throw out lip products due to change in their smell? I know they have a shelf life but that seems so short. Love lip products and I dont wanna throw them out so often, or even within a year.

Love this. My absolute favorite is the CT happikiss but I find the shade selection pretty lackluster for what would work as an everyday color for my skin tone (other than Pillow Talk). Would love to find a formula that is the closest to that but that offers more shades. Any suggestions (from anyone, including commenters)? Thx! :)

Great video! I’m surprised you didn’t mention the minty taste of the Hourglass. Not sure I love it. I think that is what makes it volumizing, which isn’t my preference. I really like the YSL Candy Glaze feel on my lips and no plumping (stinging) feeling! I really love the Rituelle de Fille and the Tarte Maricuja ones too.

I wanted to like the rituel de fille ones so bad but I didn't find them hydrating at all. I feel like they just sit there and don't do anything and my lips just get dryer so I end up using something else instead. I have naturally dry skin so I don't know if this plays into this at all and it was designed for a different skin type (it just feels like it sits on top of my skin in a really weird way) but they look beautiful but do nothing for me. I love so many things from them too so it made me sad. I do love the Summer Fridays though so maybe that says something about my different lip hydration needs lol

Same! I just tried the Hourglass glossy balms and also a lip gloss from Hourglass and the extreme amounts of menthol makes my lips super dried out and irritated which sucks because I love everything else about them. Such a bummer!

Amanda, what about lasting power? The YSL candy glaze in 02 lasts a long time for a lip gloss and that pushed me to buy one after having a tester. Super impressed and I never buy such expensive lip products

I was going to say this! I own and LOVE both the hourglass and the YSL Candy Glaze. I think the YSL is gorgeous and it both lasts longer, has more pigment (though the hourglass does a good job in the pigment payoff for what it is) and leaves a bit of a stain on the lips. I prefer both of these over the Tarte which can be a bit gloupy sometimes. Honeysuckle is really beautiful though:)

These types of lip products all start to become the same after a while imo. Gloss, oil, balm are all so similar. Might as well get drugstore and only a few. No need for high end or a large collection in this category. Not to mention unlike powder makeup products you have to use these up quickly before they go bad!

Those about face sticks have no business being that pigmented and in that packaging. I really love the shades and love the scent but there is no clean application with those--it's impossible. They come out so gloopy and when you try to get an even edge, you can't. I look like a five year old did my lips every time. They need to repackage them into something that makes more sense.

The problem I have with this channel is the lack of diversity in shades ... all eye products and lip products swatched in the long collection videos are almost all the same shade of brown/gold (eye) or nude/terracota (lip).
