Watching Monsters Vs Aliens (2009) FOR THE FIRST TIME!! || Movie Reaction!!

This movie is so underrated, it actually wasn't that well received initially, but glad so many people are discovering it now.

Actually makes me so happy how you don't let dreamworks get the best of you. The amount of re uploads you have done is actually inspiring, so thank you Nick for trying so hard to keep these videos up!

Personally, I love this movie. It's just so much fun to look at. I really emphasize with Susan, Dr. Cockroach and The Missing Link are pretty funny, my only problem (besides B.O.B. being a bit much sometimes,) was being super frustrated as a kid that we never learned why Gallaxhar destroyed his own people.

This is typical DreamWorks, but it's a lot of fun with good characters, stunning animation, and great humor. The scene where BOB breaks up with Derek was the funniest moment in the entire film for me. I don’t know why, but I guess it’s kinda the absurdist humor. Like this monster who has no relationship whatsoever with this human is so invested in their fictional relationship. Also, the coffee lady screaming continuously will never fail to make me laugh.

Gallaxhar is like an early version of Megamind and Jumba Jookiba combined.

A Dreamworks classic. Lots of nods/references to the old school 50’s monsters such as “The Fly”, “Godzilla”, “Attack of the 50ft Woman”, “The Blob” and “Creature from the Black Lagoon”.

I saw this film in cinemas all the way back in 2009.....14 years ago now!! I don't get why so many people dislike the film, it's one of Dreamworks' most underrated films. If we had the opportunity to vote for this President, he would win by an absolute landslide!! I have never seen Nick laugh so much in any of the movies I’ve seen (though in retrospect I haven’t watched EVERY reaction) and I don’t blame him for I’m laughing too.

Despite the film not having any sequels, there are many shorts and a small series following the monsters. If you enjoyed the movie I’m sure you could find somewhere to watch the mini episodes. This movie is definitely one of my favorite animated movies! Lots of love!

This is one of my favourite childhood movies, I'm so delighted that you're reacting to it. You really grow to care about Susan and her problems, plus I loved the "Axel F" sequence.

I really like this movie, however, there's a big gap of monster-less scenes between Susan's arrival and their recruitment to save the world (Galaxhar's awakening, the couple finding the robot, the president trying to comunicate with the robot and Munger presenting his plan to the president). When we last see Susan, she's scared of the situation and the monsters. When we see her again she's friends with them. I feel there should have been a scene of them bonding in between, also explaining how Munger went from seeing them as a problem to seeing them as a solution.

Galaxhar truly has one of the most intricate backstories in villain history!

I loved this film since I was little, sadly it’s very forgotten and underrated and although it’s clear that it doesn’t compare with other works of art that Dreamworks has made, it deserves more love than it has been given, I’m glad you reacted to this movie! It's very funny!

The movie unfortunately didn't get a sequel, but it did get 2 Halloween shorts called " Mutant pumpkins from outer space" and "Night of the living carrots"

I love how the whole army just watches the president dancing and going all in playing on the piano. xDD This movie is one of my favourites!

This was one of my childhood favorites! My friends and I would always play as the characters. By the way, they didn’t get a sequel, but they did have a Halloween special! Can’t wait for Trolls! I love those movies!

Loved this film when I saw it as a kid at the cinema, and while I admit now the human is a little low brow and childish it still works so well and is such a funny and enjoyable experience. Definitely doesn’t deserve the hate it seems to get.

I'm so happy that you liked it Nick! It's one of my family favourites we quote it all the time!! And the cinematography is a-mazing!! And the way they handled Susan's character was so good!! It's slapstick humour is so funny and underrated, the president and B.o.b are our favourites, (if you know the office it's like if Michael Scott was president!) I hope copyright doesn't give ya a bad time Nick, PS if anyone really likes this movie's humour you would LOVE Hortan Hears A Who by blue skies, I mean Jim Carrey and Steve Carell!

I love the movie Monsters vs Aliens. Ever since I was 5 years old, this movie holds a very special spot in my heart. Through my childhood, I've always love Susan as my best friend and big sister.

This movie is such a fever dream for me,the president is my favorite one of all of them😂😂

At the time it was criticized for being too reference heavy. It did okay at the box office (380 million worldwide) but had a huge budget (175 million) so it was seen as a financial disappointment. It did spawn a tv movie and a tv series that lasted one season though so Dreamworks did attempt expanding this universe like it did with its other properties.

Man this makes me so sad, when I was a kid I used to have almost all DreamWorks movies and before the actual movie there was like a lot of trailers, and I used to love the trailer of this movie, and then my dad bought Monster vs Aliens, man.... I want my childhood back, was such an AMAZING experience watching the Disney/Pixar/DreamWorks trailers before the actual movie, seriously I used to LOVE watching them even more than the actual movie, there was the trailers, curiosities? And other teasers about other movies, songs

I'm happy that DreamWorks is getting a Renaissance right now, and thanks for bringing more attention to them.

This movie is ridiculously underrated and I didn't even realize, I thought it was hilarious and heartwarming at the same time Shame it doesn't get the recognition it deserves 😔 Your videos are well worth the wait btw so don't worry about taking extra time and you need to take time for yourself as well

This is a fun Sci Fi comedy movie that makes homage to alien invasion films and the giany monster/Kaiju genre. There was going to be a sequel but it was cancelled as producer Jeffrey Katzenberg thought the film wasn't profitable. There is a spinoff animated series based on the movie that was cancelled after 1 season and 26 episodes.

Fun fact:The guy who voiced Derek is also ANT MAN in the MCU!

Soooooo, if no one else has listed them yet, here's the character references: Susan/Ginormica is _Attack of the 50 ft. Woman_ with a couple of touches (like the giant syringe gag) from _The Amazing Colossal Man;_ Link is basically a jaded _Creature from the Black Lagoon;_ B.O.B. is _The Blob;_ Insectosaurus is _Mothra,_ and Doc Cockroach is _The Fly._ They're all worth a watch, although the "giant human" ones are strictly no-budget clown shows that take themselves too seriously.

Another fun fact: the reason this was so funny was, because the director Conrad Vernon directed Shrek 2. He has a great sense of humor.

Glowing meteor was like a chunk of swiss-cheese. It just happened to land on Susan with one of its holes above her.

This movie is so hilarious and stupid and I love it. I think that’s why I love Dreamworks films over anything else. I’m glad you’ve had fun with it. And yes at first it was made for 3d.

Really funny and creative movie. Funniest part for me is when they inform Bob that the invisible man died and he's still in the chair.. I don't know why but that has me in hysterics every time.

This is far from one of my personal faves of DreamWorks, but I can appreciate what they tried to do here, combining the B-movie Horror and Sc-Fi genres. First off, I don't know how to feel about Paul Rudd as Derrick in this movie... I mean I do but it still makes me laugh to think about it: also I actually find this movie underrated, it's a fun kids movie to me if nothing else

My favorite DreamWorks Movie just love how stacked this cast and I also played the video game as a kid when this movie came out.

This movie was amazing and always will be! It’s a shame that it’s so underrated like Bolt is. I do agree tho it could’ve been a bit longer. Like when you watch it, it doesn’t even feel like it’s been an hour, feels like it’s been 10 mins.

It never got a sequel unfortunately, but it did get a series on Nickelodeon. Not very many episodes from what I remember though, but it was pretty fun.

I'm happy you're reacting to this underrated wholesome movie. :D Sadly there's no sequel, but there are two short films called "B.O.B.'s Big Break" and "Night of the Living Carrots", a TV special called "Mutant Pumpkins From Outer Space" (this came before "Night of the Living Carrots" so be sure to watch this one first; it's my favorite of this bunch) and the TV series with 26 episodes. I recommend you watching all of these I mentioned whether you do a reaction video or not. :D

There's no MvA sequel movie.. But there is a sequel TV show that was on Nickelodeon

I believe this was one of the first mainstream animated movies made specifically for 3D with 3D technology, which is kind of weird to think about because now we watch this just as a normal movie, but probably many of the choices they made, such as the ping-pong at the beginning, were probably made as part of the 3D experience, but now it's just become a strange but interesting choice for a movie people have been watching primarily in 2D for something like 14 years.
